- On my first full day in china, I primarily ran some errands. I got a health check, went to the bank and got my phone card reactivated. I spent some time with my sister in law and took a few different forms of public transportation in Ningbo.

It’s so fun returning to China, Matt. My wife and I were able to spend nearly six weeks there late last year and early this year. Always new things to see and experience! Enjoy your time.

It certainly feels this way! China is like a country designed for modern living standards, whereas the US, in comparison, is like the world in Westworld or The Last of Us. I love the US for its feeling of wilder freedom, but I don't want to live forever in the wild.

I started following you right after you got hit by that truck many years ago (but after the fish tank videos). There are YT channels that show nothing but how bad life is in China. But there are other channels (like this channel) that show it's not all bad in China. Thanks Matt.

We have been going back to Ningbo these past 2 summers and I have the exact same feeling: Ningbo is quiet and not crowded unlike those tier-1 tourist cities. My parents’ home is near the Sam’s in Yinzhou and the shopping mall is pretty much empty. You don’t have to worry about finding a seat on subway. Enjoy your time and looking forward to more videos!

That's how I felt as well going back to China. But there is always some dirtiness, chaos and madness along with the modern infrastructure and organized society. China is almost like if you merge Japan, Poland and South East Asia into a single country.
The other day I complained on the internet about drug addicts wandering around where I live (Canada) and other Canadians were like that's normal for the downtown areas of big cities, what do you expect. It's not normal in East Asia or certain eastern European countries.

... my wife, my kids and i do annual health checks in ningbo as well. although services in Germany are not bad, we are impressed about how modern the facilities are, especally outpatient clinics.

Many shanghai people were originated from Ningbo, Shanghai dialect is deeply influenced by Ningbo dialect，because Shanghai was a fishing village 200 years ago, while Ningbo was a big city.

I did a similar thing in Thailand mixing up my words years ago. I asked a lady in shopping mall where I could get a handbag. What I didn't realise was I was actually asking her where could I get a testicle bag..... Apparently the words for both are quite similar but they have a different tone.....the joys of trying to learn a new language that's tonal.. 😂 😂 😂

We have a serious problem with aggressive driving in the US and it takes seeing a place without that culture to open your eyes to it. I hope at some point there will be a campaign to change it, just like there was to stop smoking. Just a small change in culture would save thousands of lives.

I've never heard of Ningbo. Is this considered 4-5th tier city? It sure looks nice though
one of the wealthiest cities in China and bueatiful.
The world's biggest and busiest container port is at Ningbo. A fully 5G controlled automated port handling the port ops.
Ningbo is a very nice city.

About the drinking... It's only in the US people get pissed off being cut off while driving. I saw people in Europe also changing lanes like crazy but that is normal to them. I think Americans need to learn to be calm like the rest of the world.
