Guatapé is an Andean resort town in northwest Colombia, east of Medellín. It’s known for its houses decorated with colorful bas-reliefs. It sits by the vast, man-made Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, a busy water-sports center. Today, it serves as a popular tourist destination and is famous worldwide for its beautiful lake- which is often called the "Pearl of Antioquia". Guatape is Antioquia's cutest colonial town, and offers amazing nightlife and even better sunrise and sunset views over the Guatape reservoir.
