George was so awesome. He was a great musician, singer and songwriter but never hesitated to be a little comical, never took himself too seriously Perfect!
This was the lead single from George's self titled 1979 album. It was voted one of his most popular songs from his solo career. He was in top form lyrically and vocally for this catchy melody. Beautiful guitar work from George as only George can do. He wrote this song while being frustrated with a leak at his Friar Park home. Feeling of frustrating and inadequacy, made him realize it was not going to help him, so George wrote this beautiful song. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Stephen for more George. ❤️ Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
You can always recognise a George Harrison slide guitar solo just as you can always recognise a Steve Wonder harmonica solo. That's the sign of great talent.
I'll never know why this wasn't a much bigger hit, it's so lovely. Incidentally, the "footsteps" are a tribute to The Shadows, as that was their trademark movement when performing.
It was released as a single at a time when Disco dominated everything - plus it wasn't very effectively promoted (IMO) and - as compared to his more successful singles - it's not especially radio friendly (not like "My Sweet Lord" or "I Got my Mind Set on You" and so on). But it would always be right in the middle of any top 10 George songs I would ever compile - this and "Dark Horse" as well as the big-uns of course!
I call him ''good George'' because he was a humanitarian besides being the wonderfully talented artist he was . RIP good George ,Always remembered ,always loved .
I rediscovered this song a few years ago and it’s now one of my favorites. Thanks for the request, Stephen!I’ve been wanting someone to react to this for a while now.
This is one of my very favorite George songs. Somewhat, as when my brother and I got into The Beatles, in 1978 (we saw "Yellow Submarine" at a local children's movie feature) this was the first solo George that we knew. The video, fine with George, the weather, white stage, his guitar, and footwork,...why the mechanical or ceramic animals, who knows. Early Videos! His videos for "Crackerbox Palace" and "this song" are just more fun, and kooky.
Those footsteps remind me when with the Beatles he used to tease with some soft dance on stage, and here he pretends he's playing one part of the song with his left hand. Adorable George!!!
He was such an incredible slide guitarist....and the sounds he got from using the slide is so unique, you just know when you hear it that it's George Harrison playing it.
Thanks Stephen! I just love that distinctive guitar that makes his songs instantly recognizable. This is beautiful and I have not heard it in many years. Thanks for reminding me. Nice commentary from Harri🌺✌️
Hey Harri, you asked me to send a reminder. Here it is. The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let it Roll). I hope you love it! The Best of George Harrison.
I love George's humor! I'm not sure if you've done "Crackerbox Palace" yet, but it's a funny one too. George was always my favorite Beatle because, even as a child, I think I sensed their was more to him than just being the "quiet Beatle". He never came across as pretentious like the others. He didn't take things as seriously as the others, even though he did have the reputation of being kind of stern and terse.
This is one of my top 5 favorite Harrisongs, same message as 'All Things Must Pass'. It puts things in perspective and it's one of the catchiest songs he ever wrote. If this had been released under the Beatles name it would have easily been a #1.
The dance steps were a take on what The Shadows were doing in the early 60's......George often subtly included tributes to artists he liked in his music and videos. He was friends with Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch in the mid-late 60's from being at the EMI Studios at Abbey Road at the same time.
I liked a handful of songs the former Beatles put out after splitting the group, but it's my opinion that Harrison put out the most excellent body of work, post Beatles. Love his work. Hey, just my opinion!
I think it has been a great pleasure and honor for all people who knew Georg... my uncle looked so similiar to him - they could have been brothers. And his' guitar sound and -playing is recognisable under a million!😍😍💙💙💙
George was so awesome. He was a great musician, singer and songwriter but never hesitated to be a little comical, never took himself too seriously Perfect!
"Blow Away" is part of his 1979 album, which also includes a hidden gem called "Your Love Is Forever".
I consider that 1979 album his best. Focused, melodic, and upbeat.
It's a really good album. not a rocker, but many beautiful love songs written for his wife.
"All I Got To Be Izzzzzz Be Happy" George was one of a kind!
George Harrison was always my favorite Beatle. And a great solo preformer loved the Traveling Wilburys too
I agree Debbie
Agreed. He has always been my favorite.
That slide guitar is so distinctive.
Yes, a typical George Harrison song, which means it’s a song that puts a smile on my face😀

It did get a lot of airplay in Los Angeles.
George plays so tastefully.

Beautiful.
Life flows on within you and without you.

Thanks George! The 'Quiet Beatle' strikes again!
I bought this album when it came out, was in 9th grade, and loved this song right off the bat, as well as the rest of the album.
GEORGE HARRISON HAD SO MUCH DEPTH, I LOVED HIS EARLY SOLO STUFF ... THEN THE TRAVELING WILBURYS .. CLASSIC!
This song is one of my favorite George songs, along with, What Is Life. Thank you Harri for the reaction.
I rediscovered this song a few years ago and it’s now one of my favorites. Thanks for the request, Stephen!I’ve been wanting someone to react to this for a while now.
As good and spiritual as he was, when he died, everyone in attendance said that the room filled with light as he past. 🥰
The only Beatle whose solo work I was interested in. There's nothing like putting my old LPs on the turntable and chilling to George.
I've known this song for decades, but I've never seen this video. Thanks, Harri.
Great choice Harri, luv this song by George.
Boy, did I love this single when I was a kid!
Great request Stephen . Love this Dark horse masterpiece. Thanks for reacting Harri. 🇨🇦🇺🇸😉👍🙃🤴🇬🇧
Great song by our George.

Great George song. I loved his humor and sweet voice. Very soothing and uplifting.
This came out as I was in junior high man wow. I totally forgotten about the song but I always liked it.
He was so special. He could really craft a song.
Those footsteps remind me when with the Beatles he used to tease with some soft dance on stage, and here he pretends he's playing one part of the song with his left hand. Adorable George!!!
George is wonderful and I love all of the Beatles.

"This Song" is hilarious . As is Crackerbox Palace

This is Love is a great one by him!
💜 My favorite Beatle.
His sequel to Here Comes The Sun.
Harri, you would enjoy the Playing for Change Collaboration /Sing Across Hawaii
Only you could analyze the lyrics that way. Great reaction! Let's help Harri hit that 100k SUBSCRIBERS..He earns it well!
Your Love Is Forever is an amazing song you should react to Harry

That famous "thin guitar" sound.....
He is sing about his )ove for god
I have this 45 with Soft Hearted Hana
Those foot moves were typical of his stage performances when he was in that other band.
love the song, but can do without the odd video :)
