Yes indeed, I prefer the Oscar-winning original (mono) audio mix over the new 5.1 audio mix because the 5.1 audio mix in later versions of this film contains few of bothersome stock sounds in my opinion.
The world will not be the same when we lose John Williams. The music is this scene is amazing. We take music in movies for granted sometimes. But he is amazing. Jaws and jurassic park are my 2 favorite movies and neither would have been as good imo without the music of John Williams.

Funny thing is that no one ever realised this but that line "smile you son of a bitch" relate to something in the book. In the movie, everytime you see the shark, most of the time he has his jaws closed. But in the book, he does what you see when great whites on National Geographic want to bite things and their jaws are always open and it creates this sort of creepy smile. And they talk about it a few times in the book. But here it was never a case in the movie yet he said this anyway.
Little Funfact. Brody used Quints M1 Garand to blow up the Bottle. Bit of a closing Circle. Quint started experiencing with Sharks during World War 2. And now that Shark was killed by something from World War 2.
You can see the shark head if you set the playback speed to .25 and can catch it by clicking quickly on and off and catching the frame between :30-:31. The screen will flash totally white.That's when they set the fake shark head pointing straight up with the underside facing the camera (for a fraction of a second)and it blows up. Anyone else catch it?

I literally first watched this film yesterday night, absolutely brilliant. Brody was just fed up and went full a-hunting-sailor mode. Badass.
