Thanks for your reaction Jay and Amber. Note; it's a spiritual song, uplifting. Yah is the Hebrew name(YAHWEH) for God. Listen to the lyrics again with this understanding. The song begins with " Heavenly Father" and later tells you " reach out and call His Name ". YAH will be there for you. Love y'all energy and positivity. You have been in my prayers, Jay. Stay strong young man. YAHWEH will be there for you.
James Ingram unfortunately passed away January 29, 2019 . The title of the song was named by James Ingram using YAH from the Bible, " YAH MO BE THERE " was to mean GOD WILL BE THERE . " Yahweh " is the Hebrew name for God in the Bible. The song is about God Our Heavenly Father. Exodus 6:2-3
Yah Mo B There. Yah is a shortened version of Yahweh, which means God in Hebrew. So the title literally means "God will be there" and is interpreted as "God be with you."
I love both of these gentlemen! RIP James Ingram!! This song is so inspirational especially today! A higher power is in control so don't give up hope!! 💖💖
The range of the great James Ingram on display here, and right at the beginning. Rest in music Quincey and James. Yah, meaning God, will be there when you call.
"How Do You Keep The Music Playing" with Patti Austin James Ingram sang with Roberta flack ,Anita Backer, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton and Gloria Estefan . Have fun great music.
This is a great spiritual pop song. Yah/Jah/Yahweh/Jehovah is indeed there whenever you call. It's unusual for a song to have such an obviously spiritual title/theme and be a hit, especially outside the USA, but this got plenty of airplay in the UK and Ireland too. Loved this from when I was a kid in the 80s, and it still sounds so funky, cool and soulful to this day.
You guys! You must watch his duet with Linda Ronstadt, “Somewhere Out There!” He was also on “We are the World” at the end with Ray Charles. He’s an integral part of 80’s R&B soul for sure! 💙
Yes I think they would love Somewhere Out There given they love Ingram and Ronstadt, it is quite the duet and has a life beyond the animated American Tail movie it comes from.
Yay!! I've been waiting so long for y'all to unearth this gem. I loved it since I was a kid! Please check out Michael McDonald's bop "SWEET FREEDOM" soon and get back to some PAUL DAVIS too. Love y'all, keep smiling!! 🎶🥰🎶
Yeah… yeah. This song lifted my spirits more than any other in the 80s…. When I needed it most. Days when I was steeped in dread - this song helped me believe I would somehow get through the day. Great reaction, thanks for finally finding this jewel!
My reaction was the same when I heard this song. I wish these two had done a whole album together. They were one of the greatest pop duos that never was.
I just suggested this by e-mail two days ago...that was quick. Fifth on a list of five, so others must have too... James Ingram got a long overdue solo #1 of his own in late 1990 with "I Don't Have The Heart". That would be well worth a visit. It's basically Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" but from the other end of the equation.
@@elementelnins1864 I've made endless suggestions in comments. First time I send an e-mail with five picks and here one comes in the same week. If we soon also get J. Geils Band lead singer Peter Wolf's first solo hit or a certain horn-heavy Pet Shop Boys duet with a 60s legend, I'll know they saw it.
Haven't heard this in decades. Yah Mo is Hebrew I think for God. Beautiful vocals too. Jay always misses the videos with his eyes closed haha. RIP James.
You may remember this mentioned in your recent 40 Year Old Virgin reaction, where Paul Rudd complains to Jane Lynch "If I hear Yah Mo B there one more time, I'm going to Yah Mo Burn this place to the ground!"
One of my favorite duets. And I agree. Their voices complement each other. Therefore, the two should have recorded more. Sadly, James Ingram passed away a few years ago. He was a great singer, very underrated. His signature sound was his "howl" . And Michael McDonald? What can I say? Soulful ! Blue Eyed Soul at its best. While we are on the subject of dynamic duos, you guys need to react to DONT DISTURB THIS GROOVE by The System. I've requested this many times before. Classic, timeless tune. I think you two would dig it.
Great duet with James Ingram and Michael McDonald but unfortunately they won’t be singing together because James Ingram died of cancer years ago but great song and reaction. Great to see you guys back and praying for Jay to get all the support you need Brother 💯
The great Quincy Jones passed away this past week (the man who produced this excellent song), and he had *so* many great musical productions in addition to the legendary Michael Jackson albums. For some great dance numbers, try "Stuff Like That" by Ashford & Simpson (1978, the full 6-minute disco version!) and two great songs by his god-daughter, Patti Austin: "Betcha Wouldn't Hurt Me" and "Razzamatazz" (from 1980). RIP "Q", thank you for the great music.
James Ingram’s and Michael Mc Donald’s best Song together, but James Ingram and Patti Austin’s duets are pure Gold…”Just Once”… “ Baby come to Me” and Personal Favourite “How do you keep the music Playing”…….and then Patti Austin one her own another Rabbit Hole especially with Quincy Jones ….
Love both of these artists. You’ve done a bit of Michael McDonald, but only one other James Ingram song I believe. He has a bunch of good ones and such a good voice. One of my favorites is, ‘There’s No Easy Way’ You can hear the emotion and range of his voice in that song.
Knowing you love Linda Ronstadt, too, you may want to check out her duet with James Ingram called 'Somewhere Out There.' The song is from the 1986 animated musical 'An American Tail.'
One of my best friends is Michael McDonald's cousin, so I've seen him live many times and talked with Mike quite a bit. One of Mike's very first solo concerts was at the Universal Amphitheatre in L.A. (no longer there) and James Ingram was there. I asked about the song and what it meant. They said that Yah is short for Yahweh, meaning a higher power. Yah Mo B There simply means that whatever higher power you believe in, God or otherwise, just believe in that inner power and you can get through the hard times. A beautiful song!
Amber & Jay first of all, Rip James Ingram!!! U guys have to react to Aretha Franklin & Michael McDonald Ever Changing Time, & Patti Austin & James Ingram Baby Come To Me. Both music video n songs R awesome. U guys will not be disappointed.
Another great Michael Mcdonald song is sweet freedom from a great movie running scared with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines (possibly a movie reaction choice)
Where did you find this song? Love it. Such an upbeat tempo. Next time I am in a funk I will be sure to listen to this one. Put a BIG smile on my face.
BABY, COME TO ME - Patti Austin & James Ingram
