Yes, I noticed that one. Original looks like you're watching old movie and game feels like it came out in late 80s. In definitive there's no that feeling, like you're playing cheap fan mod, no feeling like it's very old game about very old times

@folev_333 ah i see, i play on the PS4 port, its upscaled to 1080p but i changed the resolution on the PS4 settings to 720p, i play on 4:3 and sometimes widescreen (zoom) but i think the game was meant to be played in 4:3, 480p or 720p.
@ yes the default aspect ratio is 4:3 and 576i. But can be changed using Widescreen option to fake 16:9 by stretching the game. Or how I did using the GSM mod to put real 16:9 default resolution
Hi, I've thought about that but sadly I don't have the ps2 version of gta 3. I mean I have it on disc but the problem is that my ps2 is modded and my games run only from a hard disk and I don't know how to make a disk game to a hard disk that can be read by the console
The Definitive Edition is somewhat of an anomaly, alright. While better draw distance, higher poly models and better controls are great, in some cases the art style of the original does look a lot better. If Rockstar can fix that (and the rest of the bugs) I would re-buy the game. Maybe in another year.
The draw distance really is an issue in the DE, it should be lower to provide the illusion of a larger map. Not as low as in the OG PS2 version, of course.
It has a charm, but not with these controls bro, you can't believe what an adventure it was to record the video with the right angles without being able to move the camera on the ps2 version. You can just walk with left analog stick and try to move the camera with it, the right analog stick turns on first person camera which has such a high sensitivity that its unusable
версия ps2 - ужас. Низкое разрешение + слишком много желтизны 12:33 Никогда не понимал, чем людям нравится этот "тёплый фильтр". Действительно, даже первоначальная версия ремастера намного лучше, чем ps2 2002
@@EldarioS_01 yes, some effects, gameplay features, colors and aspects are better but that's all. Ps2 has awful hardware, gta sa ps2 is on 720x576i resolution, that itself is bad enough
Any emulator can upscale the resolution of the original games with one click. Nothing can fix the awful character models, hundreds of glitches, and lazy AI look of the Defective Edition.
@@GambitX37 But wouldn't that make the already blocky awful looking character model and obvious lack of visual Fidelity pop even more? At that point, DE looks a billion times better.
@@folev_333 7:27 is an even better example. She went from 20 to 50. Some of the environments and vehicles look better in DE but them characters models...
i like ps2 more, in the definitive the colors are bad, ex. that pink lights is purple now, and the darkness at night is bad too, i hate they changed all colors, this is not original this is fake defective of vice city!!!
@@RyanDryan888 why? It looks similar most of the time, yes the night colors are a bit different around the neon street, something that I don't like too, it looks now more cold, while the ps2 colors were warm. But honestly I prefer the definitive edition for Vice City, surely it needs a lot of work but it is potentially way better than the ps2 version, especially the controls
@@komix1873 yep it is better now, but DE lost the authenticity of the game, the ps2 version is more polished and if Rockstar want to make this happen they will fix DE which i hope they do
@folev_333 that's clear weather not sunny weather. When it's sunny in the original it looks hot in the morning. In the DE it looks oversaturated and too dark. I did my own testing too.
@madzmedia2 it is sunny weather, I literally typed the cheat on both versions before recording. On clear weather the sky is more white, overall I avoided recording on clear weather in this video
@folev_333 i see. Strange result then. Mine is very different. The sky is completely clear but the shade of blue looks really warm and it fades out of colour nicely on the PS2 version. But the DE has this over saturated blue. The difference is night and day.
Honestly, I always disable the trains, I don't like them because they were so annoying to the eye in the PS2 version , And I think I will never activate it to play a game, the game will look flat, but it is not that bad either
@@folev_333 Good! On VCS it looks too blurry and it gets worse when you play it from the original console, the good thing is that it can be disabled just like VC , I understand that many have some appreciation for the Vice City trains, but as I said, it makes the experience not comfortable , And considering that the camera is always moving when you're driving a vehicle and this filter is active, I'm not surprised that it was disabled on the PC release
Holy crap they got a lot of the textures wrong dont even look like the original they got blue where pink should be and pink where blue should be and they completely changed textures on some models for no reason, no light eluminating from the lights either this is a mess😂
I think I finally understand why Vice City DE really is the weakest remaster of the trilogy to me, it’s that damn lighting, sure I wasn’t expecting it to be exact but man the ps2 just kicks it’s ass, nighttime isn’t as dark as it should be, nothing glows anymore like the original, everything is just flat looking which I get in a way because it’s a modern 4K remaster as well as a rushed unreal engine flip but damn I just don’t think it works as well as the other DE games even with the classic lighting, part of that charm of the original Vice city to me was that you felt like you were playing in a fun 80s action movie with over blown effects and neon signs and everything just popped you know what I mean? Now it’s just sort of another game in the collection, it’s not a bad way to play the game and god knows the original wasn’t perfect (shooting and saving every time you complete a mission) but I think that’s what was a huge part of it’s charm and now it’s gone and I’m not sure it’s a clear cut answer of what version I would recommend to people anymore, especially now that the original games are removed on Playstation
@@mr_smiles4213 yes. Honestly for me the DE looks far better but it needs much improvement especially to night time as you said. DE is a wasted potential, rushed, while VC at the time was pushing the known limits of video games
@@folev_333Thanks for comparing I swore I remembered actually having difficulty finding comparisons to the ps2 for some reason after the classic lighting patch glad I wasn’t the only one who wanted a true comparison on RUclips
@@mr_smiles4213 thank you for your support. So yes, I decided to make these comparisons real, by recording from the original ps2 not from emulators. That way we can see the real difference and people seem to like these videos
@@kooba6523 no, they are just poorly made. This is the result of AI upscale and quick work. I also don't like the new characters because they are sharper and more shiny for some reason
@@folev_333 yea agreed.. i feel like the original is just perfect visually...i do not need a super clear version of this game....the only thing that sucks is the gunplay with the original and the fact that you cannot move the camera while driving imo
Ultimate comparison, my ass. This makes the Defective Edition look so much better than it actually is. Show the character models from the front, not just the back. Show all the glitches and misplaced textures and lazy AI changes. Upscale the resolution of the original to at least 720p. Then MAYBE it would be a fair comparison. The originals are still the better versions of these games.
You really want me to upscale the ps2 resolution? Bro this is ps2 not PC, it has a standart PAL resolution 576i, made for standart TVs at the time, forget about the fancy emulators that youtubers use, ps2 version is not 720p or 1080 or 4k, its only 576i (PAL) and 480i (NTSC). I made a fair comparison, this is how GTA Vice City really looks on ps2, just accept it, it is what it is. And if you think DE now looks better, well it is looking better, at least for most of the time, because I like the ps2 details and lighting on certain buildings more. And while the Definitive Edition of all 3 games is a complete mess with bad AI scaling, shiny characters and a lot of gameplay bugs, at least for Vice City and 3 it is better than ps2. On this console I can't even move the camera around on foot, let alone in a car, you don't know how hard it was to match the perfect angles without being able to move the camera I'm working on Part 2 where I will focus on gameplay, maybe there you will see some of the things you mentioned! Btw I showed the characters in the video, I included the whole cutscenes for this reason
3:44 where is the light?😡 4:20 night is night, 4:28 lights are lights pink is pink😡, 4:23 where is my pink?, FAKE DEFECTIVE of vice city, they don't know what a remaster is!!!
Yes, it is not exactly the same as the ps2, some things differ, I think the main problem is the gameplay issues, graphics are still better bro, at least definitive edition does not run on 720x576i. Yes i, not p. It's even interlaced. Unlike San Andreas, the Vice City ps2 version is absolutely bad in terms of gameplay, you cant even move the camera on foot, let alone do something like run and gun or look around when you drive. The definitive edition is far from good in my opinion, but at least it's more playable
The worst version of any GTA is on the PS2. I don't know why it's still compared to that console. In the same generation, the Xbox versions were the best, and right now, on the Xbox Series, they look so good, as does the Nintendo Switch
For GTA 3 and VC yes, but not for San Andreas! It has many features that only worked on the ps2 that's why I even still play it from time to time on ps2. But GTA VC and 3 are nightmare on ps2, especially the controls, you cant believe how hard it was for me to match the right angles on the ps2

@@duskgolem3793 have you played the ps2 version?
I suggest recreating the DE trailer using the new patch.
I Might try that
@folev_333 🤝
Is the PS2 at 480p in the video? Thanks.
@@JohnnyVincent420 Hi, It is the standart PAL resolution 720x576i. But I have GSM mod on my ps2 so I made it 16:9 without stretching so in the video it is 1024x576i.
@@folev_333 yes or you can change the resolution on your TV, thats what i do.
@ yes, thats the way if you have non moded ps2
They need to redo his body and some of the players faces frfr,
@@goontubefilmz I think they need to redo all models
They need to remodel tommy. They need to just give him the exact same look from original
Yes, in the original he looks younger and better. In DE he looks like a middle aged Indian
@ factsss
Can you do a comparison with og ps2 gta3 and updated DE
Hi, I've thought about that but sadly I don't have the ps2 version of gta 3. I mean I have it on disc but the problem is that my ps2 is modded and my games run only from a hard disk and I don't know how to make a disk game to a hard disk that can be read by the console
Does anyone knows the name of BGM? Thank you so much.
@@Michael-ph9wo what is this?
Versão de PS2 muito melhor, dar ar mais nostálgico, leva aos anos 80
The Definitive Edition is somewhat of an anomaly, alright. While better draw distance, higher poly models and better controls are great, in some cases the art style of the original does look a lot better. If Rockstar can fix that (and the rest of the bugs) I would re-buy the game. Maybe in another year.
@@Peanut-Butter-Banana-Rama yes, exactly.
The draw distance really is an issue in the DE, it should be lower to provide the illusion of a larger map. Not as low as in the OG PS2 version, of course.
Honestly I wish they would of focused more on the gameplay mechanics instead of making the game look more "Up to date".
Same bro, Literally same, it's like in modern times everything is focused just on looks and nothing deeper
PS2 still wins!
Низкое разрешение + слишком много желтизны 12:33
Никогда не понимал, чем людям нравится этот "тёплый фильтр".
Действительно, даже первоначальная версия ремастера намного лучше, чем ps2 2002

@@Sons_Of_Liberty75 not really there’s like 2 on each side of street and not moving all over streets road.. in the originals they are moving and many
Ps2 looks more realistic, while definitive editions looks cartony
@@doju.97 exactlyyyy! That's what I hate about DE and love about ps2
Honestly it's laughable that some people claim the original looks better.
The lighting itself is better in the original. But everything else is in the DE.
Definition edition is like a bad face lift, literally→ 7:40
Yep, I also don't like the new characters much. Upscaling them that way, made them loog older
@@folev_333 7:27 is an even better example. She went from 20 to 50. Some of the environments and vehicles look better in DE but them characters models...
@@NewOrderOfAlexandria yes, that's what AI makes 😂
i like ps2 more, in the definitive the colors are bad, ex. that pink lights is purple now, and the darkness at night is bad too, i hate they changed all colors, this is not original this is fake defective of vice city!!!
@andreide You look like a complete moron who complains about any stupid thing without even trying the game.
Just no...game is finally playable, and also better to look at as it was 22 years ago...
@@komix1873 yep it is better now, but DE lost the authenticity of the game, the ps2 version is more polished and if Rockstar want to make this happen they will fix DE which i hope they do
Should showcase 10am sunny PS2 vs DE. The DE lighting looks very off and unnatural.
@@madzmedia2 13:53 is the moment for you
@folev_333 that's clear weather not sunny weather.
Why does ps2 Tommy look skinnier ? Remastered made him fat ?
Also he looks way younger on ps2
Honestly, I always disable the trains, I don't like them because they were so annoying to the eye in the PS2 version , And I think I will never activate it to play a game, the game will look flat, but it is not that bad either
@@Jerry.es-29 Me too, I always play VCS and Bice City with trails OFF. The only game that has good looking trails on Ps2 is GTA 3
@@Roofinqs yes, most of the effects are neglected, true
Do 3 now
I'll start working tomorow, if everything is good!
That way we can see the real difference and people seem to like these videos

i like the look of the original more.....bro these characters look shitty in hd.....they are meant to be played on a ps2
On this console I can't even move the camera around on foot, let alone in a car, you don't know how hard it was to match the perfect angles without being able to move the camera
I'm working on Part 2 where I will focus on gameplay, maybe there you will see some of the things you mentioned!
Btw I showed the characters in the video, I included the whole cutscenes for this reason
