You 2 are the reason I bought an air fryer , I love the way you cook no airs and arty farty rubbish and say “just put in what you like” , as a vegetarian would love more veggie ideas ,
I love your cooking videos . Sharon is priceless, Martin's comments and looks to camera are so funny.. You two are more entertaining than streaming/TV shows.
I don't know where I've been all my 62 year's, as I've never seen anyone use puff pastry for cheese straws. My Mom always made her own short crust pastry, and I was taught to do the same at school. So now this is something that I'm just going to have to try. Thanks Sharon and Martin 👍
Not sure if this is a helpful tip or not, hoping it is considering I know how much you guys love this ingredient 😊 The best cheese straws I ever tasted were ones my lovely mum made, & her secret ingredient? Mustard. She very thinly spread a layer of mustard - not so it was hot (I don’t like hot food personally), but just so it acted like an umami flavour for the cheese! I later found out she added 1-2tsp of mustard to her cheese / white sauces for exactly the same reason, it just enhances the cheese flavour more! I’ve never not done it since, & both my cheese straws & cheese / white sauces are a hit with family & friends. Revealing all my secrets now! Xx
I use mustard as well plus Gruyère is another cheese that goes well on cheese straws 😋😋 ps I think maybe your mum comes from the same era as me as I also add mustard when making cheese sauce 😋
@@suemcdonagh7650Aww yes! I lost my beautiful mum suddenly on her 76th birthday this January just gone, she was an amazing cook! I think most women of her generation were. I only wish I was half as good! I’m just glad she taught me a few tips & tricks along the way 💗 I think she added Gruyère cheese come to think of it Sue, it sounds very similar. I’ll have to make a note of that to give it a go! Thank you for the reminder 😊 xx
You guys are the best. I have found a new love of cooking now. Its 3.24am over here watching this cant wait till the stores open up so i can get the ingredients and try this.
Thank you so much, Martin and Sharon. These are brilliant. I’m going to take them to my mum‘s at Christmas. It’s just a really nice touch as a small present to take somewhere when you’re visiting at Christmas and I love Sharon‘s recipes she always makes things really easy. And I bought the ninja because you had one! So I’m glad you’re cooking them in the ninja air fryer. 🎄 🎅🏼
My mums cheese straws were what Christmas memories were made of when I was young. Her recipe and method were never written down just made ‘her way’. She developed dementia so it was too late to get her method etc passed down to me that’s why I asked in comments last week if you could make some. Your straws look delish, I will make this asap! 🤤 Thanks to you both ❤️
Love your ideas and different techniques. Bought an airfryer after finding you lovely couple on RUclips. Love it and love your no fuss ideas . Keep the videos coming please
Great idea, love Your Air Fryer Recipes. I've made Cheese triangles with Puff Pastry before (in a conventional Oven) & added a bit of finely chopped Onion with the Cheese; delicious!
Good evening guys, hope you all well. I done your rice pudding recipe today and OMG, fantastic. My elderly mother and father live just 2 mins from us and we give them a couple of bowls of the lovely rice pudding. They loved it and I just wana say thank you to you both. Ain't so many that on this site that does 'normal' everyday cooking for the UK gang lol anyways, take care and wish you all the very nest again for the channel.
@@butlersempire - I too did the rice pudding recipe and I used the quantities that you did. My husband adored it and is happy to eat rice pudding dessert for the rest of the week! Thank you both!
Just wanted to thank you both for the pork belly air fry recipe. I followed your vid, and it was a massive hit with my family. The cooking times were spot on :)
Very nice work Martin and Sharon I’m gonna give the pillow of joy a go and on top of the cheese inside of the pillow I’m gonna put a little bit of branston pickle great video 👍🏿

Hi guys, so impressed with the Air Fryer Conversion Chart,l have ordered another as a stocking filler for my Son-in-Law. Invaluable, saves alot of BURNT FOOD. Always love watching you both. Thx so much.🎄🥰
Those Cheese straws looked amazing. I noticed Merlin popped in, he must have smelt how good they were. Floppy or hard they will be tasty, great idea mixing cheese's 👍🏻😁🎁🎄
Looks great we are going to have these on Christmas Eve and Day...2 parties...the look delish and easy to transport. Thanks again for the great tips and fun presentation !
They look the best cheese straws ever, we have them every Christmas made by my elderly neighbour, if my air fryer ever gets here I shall make them for her, great video as always lovely Sharon and Martin❤.
These look delicious. A little while ago, I found an online recipe for Everything But The Bagel seasoning. I found that I had all the ingredients except black sesame seeds so I used black onion seeds instead. It was delicious and I have plenty left for when I make these cheese straws.
My daughter & her partner are coming for Christmas & as vegetarians, I was looking for something nice to cook & I've definitely decided to use these! Thanks for giving us some simple, & wonderfully tasty, choices!
I've just got one of those baking sheets with the circles on and a new rolling pin. That's a good idea using the pizza cutter for the pastry. You always get some good tips on here. I can't cut a straight line neither Sharon. I think I'll try the pastry and make some sausage rolls like you did on your other video. The cheese straws looked scrumptious Sharon
Hi Martin & Sharon, I would like to back what Kath Everitt has said below. As a family of veggies we would love to see you put those air fryers to use with more vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. Me and the wife often collectively buy something for us both at Christmas and largely thanks to you pair we have just ordered one of them Ninja's. Please please please keep those great happy go lucky no nonsense cooking videos coming and please make sure you keep your great and unique sense of humour. You two are bloody priceless and great fun to watch. Cheers and love to you both from Trev the Pianoman and his Missus Jane in mid Devon.
Wouldn’t they have crisped up on the bottom had you sprayed the crisper plate with oil and not used the liner? From what I have read there seem to be two schools of thought regarding using liners. Yes, it does save on the washing up but it also stops the hot air flow on the underneath of the item you are cooking. The result is ,as you discovered, the bottom does not crisp unless you turn them. I have the Dual Blaze so I may try omitting using the crisper tray.🤞
Yummy have been wanting an easy recipe for cheese straws and these look really good...Deffo making these at weekend for my wine o clock lol thanks u pair of darlings 😄😄😄💕💕💕

Good evening mountain hope you are well and the family is doing ok have you thought about doing the tomato and mustard cheese whirls and this recipe is basically a bread recipe rolled out and all you do is spread wholegrain mustard and then you basically tomato puree and is sprinkled cheese made up put 6 in the air fryer at time and I say something that is delicious
I had a go at making these in an identical Ninja, but being a bit cack handed (I am an OAP, after all!) a few fell to bits. Then my wife suggested making them like a Swiss roll, spreading the cheese on the sheet of pastry and using the tissue paper to roll up tightly. Cut them into half inch thick slices, brush with beaten egg and cook on 'Bake' at 200*C for 6 mins first side, then turn over and use same settings for 5 mins. Came out a treat! I could almost hear Martin's tasting tune in the background and see Sharon's eyes rolling.
They look amazing. My wife has been making these for years but not on both sides. Yours looked so much crispier. Also try a little sweet chilli sauce in with the cheese. We are doing ours in the air fryer for the first time thanks to you guys.Keep the videos coming.

Totally agree with there,I always put a tsp of English mustard in my cheese sauce. Highly recommended
yes mustard - it brings out the cheese flavour even more
