That’s what I’m hoping, although there is a small potential that the luthier’s bench may throw something unexpected up. It’s playing reasonably well currently though, so I’m pretty confident it’ll be ok in the end!
Thanks for share this amazing demo bro! I really love this guitar model and i hope to see your next videos really soon jeje!! Greetings and keep it up 👍
I’m a little jealous! They look absolutely sublime, but I’m not sure my brain could cope with 8 strings! Congrats on the order - I’m sure you’ll love it!
The patch was using the Helix Friedman BE100 patch, with a precision drive in front of it. There was no EQ outside of the amp and pedal from memory. The guitar itself I’d describe as very ‘tight’. The pickups feel surprisingly low output for a guitar like this, so I round myself pushing gains a little further than I would have expected. That said, it’s a fantastically articulate guitar, and everything sounds super clear and pronounced!
Ah you’re very kind! Glad you enjoyed it :) Don’t forget to subscribe if you like the music - there will be more modern metal stuff coming in the next few months
With all the corrosion, where did the seller store it at? The bathroom shower, or the lawnmower shed? Have to say, I own a 2005 jp6, and had to spend $$ on having the neck straightened, which is kind of surprising for any guitar in this price range. I have a majesty 6 as well, and it's fantastic in almost every way, the hardest part is trying to learn the controls effectively. I digress though, I also have a 25 year old parker fly deluxe that has 1000s of hours on it, and the neck is still perfect to this day... hard to beat.
That’s actually the one part I neglected to mention in the video - the guitar I believe was stored in a woodshed-type outside space, and appears to have been put away sweaty from a previous gig. It was stored in the case, which negated a lot of potential issues, but the potential was there for some big problems, but so far it seems ok!
I have the Sterling version of this guitar, also bought used for about 800 EUR (which was my upper bound for the budget at that time, so I consider it a lucky purchase as well). Same finish, but I think the EBMM version has a superior tremolo system (and of course the Piezo). Super happy with mine, I don't think you can really go wrong with a Majesty! I think they're really rare on the used market as well, esp. the 7-string version. So congratulations, and hope you have lots of fun with it :)
i'm considering the sterling version of this model cause i've been borrowing a 7 string for a while, and i'm in love with the sterling but the only thing stopping me from buying one is the floating tremm ngl, for me being stuck in one tuning until you mess with the springs and having to change out string guages completely negates the point of having a lower range guitar to cover multiple tower tunings and its really annoying me cause I REALLY want a Sterling Majesty
I largely agree. I have no real use for a floating trem on a 7 string, and would rather the option to retune at will. Look at a device called a ‘Tremol-no’ to fix your issue. It lives in the trem spring cavity and gives you to option to lock the trem off completely, effectively turning the guitar into a hardtail. It means you can get the guitar you want without having the issues you describe. Hope it helps!
Thanks. It’s comparatively cheap, and I’m 100% sure it’s a genuine one. They’re still expensive guitars for sure, but I doubt I would have found one cheaper in the UK 🙂
@@AndyBurlaceMusic From where I come from, if you have a Majesty, then you’re considered rich. Lol! Congrats on your purchase by the way. Plus 1 subscriber here for you sir. Cheers!
Thanks for the sub! I’m certainly a lucky guy to be able to have the collection of guitars, basses and drums that I have. That said, being a musician my full time career, and these are the ‘tools of my trade’. It’s taken well over 20 years to get to where I am with it all!
Anytime your dealing with a floating trem and 7 strings, it's gonna be way more difficult to change tunings or string guages. I actually prefer the basic Sterling trem unit, like on a Cutlass. I keep it tightened to the body. But if needed, back each pivot screw off 1 full turn, and it's good to go. Simple and effective.
To be honest, a trem of any kind is basically superfluous on a 7 as far as I’m concerned - the times I could use it are far outweighed by the times I want rock solid tuning. I’m amazed they never offered this model with a hard tail to be honest!
Unless an instrument is really broken and badly repaired, if it is a solid instrument to begin with (no twisted necks, dead spots etc), with a few bits and bobs and some actual skills in setting up a guitar, any used guitar can play greatly.
Not here in the UK - they’re currently around £2500 ($3200) used as a starting point and go up from there. $1200 (just under £950) is used Sterling Majesty X money over here!
sounds awesome man! Great Playing
Thank you kindly!
Intro demo was absolutely filthy. Great playing !!
You’re very kind! Thanks for the comment!
Definitely a fantastic find! Sounds like it won’t be too much of a headache to sort out either 🤘🏻

Thanks a lot!

So excited, I've had my Majesty 8 pre-ordered for a really long time, since they're so limited. Should have it by April!

@@AndyBurlaceMusic Thanks Andy!
Any info you can share on this guitar tone? been trying to get something like this for a while with a Mesa MkV25 or Helix. Demo sounds great

Sounding awesome dude, glad you’re liking the new axe!
It’s really rather tasty indeed, and I’m looking forward to exploring more of what it has to offer in the coming months!
Had to like after the first few seconds. That riff is crazy, and the TONE!!!

thought this was gonna be a huge channel, not enough subs at all. sick playing and composition!
You’re very kind! Hopefully more people will find me and sub soon 🙂
Prayer position vibes. Great demo!
Good spot! I was aiming exactly that vibe, with that 6/8 ‘shuffle’ feel. Not enough metal shuffles!

The Sterling is a great guitar too! I played one about a year ago and that really put the Majesty on the radar for me
yeah, the sterling trem springs are subpar to say the least

Great demo. That Majesty is not cheap and you’re very sure that if it’s a Musicman, it is quality! 🍻🤟🏻

Agreed. Some are a little more complex to work on than others, but unless it’s something massively structural then something can usually be done.
cheapest 1200 bucks?
