My 5 year old son is a huge fan of Ian, my son has alopecia so he loves bald people, he also believes Ian was caught by aliens but managed to escape, his name is Zachary if you are wondering.
I'm so glad you got back on the Zephry. My grandfather had one back in the late '30s and had a deal with Henry Ford which resulted in him naming his Oil Company, Zephry Oil. His name was Ed Gill.
Dude, I used to watch you in the being of your tv career.I dropped cable years ago, so I didn't get your program. Like yall were saying , this is the first time you showed up in my feed, and I watch ALLOT of car and fabrication stuff. Well, I'm stoked to be able to watch again. You build the coolest shit brother. Peace!
Hey fellow watcher, You have got to see the stuff they have been doing and production value of Jamie's camera and editing this is great(est) content on RUclips. I watch several fabricators and I find myself comparing all of them to Ian. Not about who's better but but about their approach to solving the same kinds of issues.
I’m always so happy to see you and Jamie. An hour of watching you and Jamie are better than the antidepressant I take. I love the new shop. It’s just the location for you, being the home of brilliance and innovation! Peace my friends, DrRick
I was an industrial mechanic most of my life. I always had a 1/2", 9/16", 7/16" combo wrench and a pair of channel locks in my pocket. And an adjustable wrench and a flathead screwdriver in the other pocket.
I am the new-old RUclips viewer, thanks for the move. I thought you were gone to fabricator heaven. Now I can be your best and loyal fan again! God Bless you.
Are you going to air bag the back too? I have a new set of triple play. Three bellows. Air Maxx bags and a couple sets of steel mounting plates and a pair of 6in spacers and an air tank with pressure switches and blow off safety and drain that is sitting on my shelf. I was going to bag a 37 chevy truck for my sister but sis changed her mind. Got a bunch of stainless fittings, tons of dot air line from a semi shop, and a air pressure guage kit. Large solenoid air valve. Somewhere their is a big 480c Air Maxx compressor hiding in the shop too.Just tell me if you want it all and I can ship it your way!! ❤❤❤
Ian; GREAT TO SEE YOU'RE BACK! As an original viewer of your content, to me (to be honest) you looked to be getting a bit burnt out in the past. Even though in today's video you say you're tired, you look happier and motivated again. Good for you ................ Happy for you. Looking forward to see what you create .............. and thank YOU.
Just found your You Tube Channel. I've been watching your builds for years on Motor Trend but that has gotten rather difficult since the Discovery 'take over'. You are one of the best automotive 'metal whisperers' I've seen. Your intuitive solutions are amazing, I hope someday you and Derek Bieri or Steve Dulcich can do a collaboration, I think that would epic!
I remember when I was kid my dad bought a fairly new 55 Ford Station wagon that was totaled in a front end wreck. Any way after he got the wrecked parts off he saw the frame was diamond shape. I recall him having the use of a fir trees, chains and pulleys and plumb bobs he pulled it back into shape. He put another front end on, rebuilt the suspension parts and primered the front end and we left 2 months later for a trip to North Dakota and back to Washington state. 3 years later I took my drivers test in that car! and now 65 years later this old gear head looks back at having done a lot of the same kind of stuff. Been watching your show for years and still learning new tricks.
I too had a vehicle break loose from a broken strap but my '70 Chevy C20 went far enough to hit the corner of my building at the rollie door opening. Shoved the wall in about 6 inches but I banged it back out with a sledge. It did mess up my stucco though. Scary stuff!
Hi Jamie and Ian ! What a cool video ! You make it look so easy ! But front suspension with all the joints and articulation can be a challenge. The Mustang set-up lent itself so well to your project. Hope to see " Little Jewel " again before to long. Jamie , give us a quick cameo now and again , always nice to see your smiling face 😊 ! Great job as usual guys ! Bless ya both !
It's never MISTAKES that matter - it's how they are dealt with that MATTERS. Add to that - Nothing is BROKEN, until it can no longer be fixed. Thank you CJ-DJ and The FAB MAN. ! ! !
Great to see you working on the zephyr again. I hope Victor will do the paint and interior when you are ready so Jamie can have the truly styling finished product.
I just have to say that at this point of what’s your content for years, but I’ve never seen your RUclips stuff. This is in fact my first video watching you on RUclips. And now I like it far better than any of the stuff you did for discovery.❤🎉
Ian!- thanks for the -VERY CLEAR-picture video on how install a car front air bag the correct way!- MAKE SURE WHEN THE AIR BAG - IS FULLY INFLATED, THAT IT NOT RUBBING ON ANYTHING ELSE, THAT MAY CAUSE IT TO POP!,OR BLOW!😮
I have never seen you not finish a project , who ever is saying that doesn't know what they are talking about ! Love the new shop ! Peace and Love guys !
I already know the outcome of this car is gonna be epic but watching the little step by step pieces come together... I can already see it... awesome project...
"That's all you need" (Hammer and slip joint pliers) I like that. Thought you were going to use your glove to shield the bag to tack it. Worked out anyway. Good video.
Thank You Ian for showing how to put a rack n pinion I have asked a lot of people and they give me a song and a dance or I don't know never did a rack n pinion before you showed me exactly what I needed to know without any B.S. this is why I love watching your video's and how you show how to do it and explain it as you do it wright thanks again ...Niko in Peoria, Az
I really appreciate seeing this video. I’m watching it right now. I just picked up a barn fine 22 years sitting in a barn. It’s a 1970 GMC long bed. Stepside should be a cool project. Probably take me eight years but I’ll try to get it done.
I've been looking and learning about paintless dent PDR and paintless collision repairs PCR One method, which is cool is to use hotmelt glue to temporarily bond the heavy pull strap directly onto the panel. The pull frame has a suction base to your floor and a boat winch to pull the strap.
To quiet the complaints about your use of channel lock plumber pliers, you should use the Knipex adjustable pliers. The jaws are smooth and they remain parallel.
Hey Roussel fam. First of all , love you two , and glad that you two teamed up to do this you tube content together. I’ve been a Ian nut(fan) since way back when video one (back fro the dead) first aired on Tv. I live in Arkansas,so it’s not like I could have dropped by to show my appreciation. But I do and have picked up tons of tips and tricks , which I’ll be forever greatful for. Who would ever had thought you can use your acetylene lid to make dimpledies . Question I have is , I know yall shut down your other shop , but do you still live at the ranch ? Love y’all big , and keep up with the great content.
Has anyone made a pivoting base plate for airbags? I also misheard you say ‘Hunky Dory’, which made me think of a name for a, perhaps future, project… Funky Dory! Another great episode!👍🏼
Problem with aftermarket air suspension, if you don't have the ride height set constant, with tie rods parallel to ground, you can have terrible bump steer.
We were raised(East SF bay) refering to Chinese handcuffs, that you call Chinese fingertraps...interesting how upbringing shapes our perspectives on even the simplest of things...Zephyr is lookin' good...thanx...(David)
Wow you made converting to the air bags look so easy and way cheaper then buying the control arms pre fabed! I have been wanting to do them on my C10 now I will give it a try. Love you videos alway look forward to them.
Ian, after twenty plus years in chemical plant maintenance, Channel Lock pliers are a standard tool that everybody uses. Don't let others' comments bother you. Use them when you wish. I still have five or six in my toolbox
A man of many talents, Ian is. Not only do we get a damage assessment, we also get a session about Newtonian physics. Only here and on Mythbusters, folks... 😂
Hi, I wouldn't worry about the fans. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it. Nice shop, you get used to the planes. After 20+ years of Aussie airforce we moved to the country & found ourselves under the flight path of Bundaberg airport which is 80K away. life's funny at times.
You should cut the mount off of the lower control arms and weld in a flat plate and put a longer piece of tube on top so that the air bag sits lower and you will have more clearance from the upper ball joints
Wish you'd spent a few extra minutes on the lower mounting of bag to keep air bag in a bow. BTW I don't think the fans affect the audio enough to turn off. Love watching ya build stuff! Thanks Mark.
IDK if you've ever heard of them. But the best way to pull a vehicle without damaging it. Is a kinetic rope. Not only do they pull anything. But they have some give to em. And they come with these things called soft shackles. So you can fasten them to anything. They make the best ones in Idaho. At yankum ropes. You should look into em.👍
I love it! You using the channel locks upside down and backwards. Enough to piss off the Pope. Keep up the good work. The Zephyr is special to me as well. My dad had a 1939 Lincoln 3 window coupe wit a V-12, overdrive and a Columbia 2 speed rear axle.
I remember a really long time ago this guy came in at the shop i worked in as a grease monkey with a beautiful 64 Pontiac super sport for oil change and greasing. Making sure to be neat and all I get in the car to back it out and right then something distracted me and I looked over the seat to back out and forgot about the car door being open. Shop door wasn't wide enough for a open car door. I felt like crawling under the car. I felt so bad that I never forgot it
I found installing the airbag informative. Thank you for sharing. The shop is fantastic. I wish mine was that size, but if I had one that big I would have to keep my son limited to a 12 x 20 area or he would take over all of it. My shop is 24 x 40. I need to clean it out.... Hi Jamie you are doing fine with the camera. The only dumb question is the one that is not asked because question is the best way to learn ❤❤. Bob in North Idaho.

just a thought why dont you guys take a weekor so off n finish shifting. makes more sense than driving back n forth .
My 5 year old son is a huge fan of Ian, my son has alopecia so he loves bald people, he also believes Ian was caught by aliens but managed to escape, his name is Zachary if you are wondering.
Awwww! We love that! Tell Zachary hello from Ian! 👽
It looks really good !!! Nice fix on the accident !!! But that yellow strap 😂 I love an air suspension !!!
Let's go Zachary! Bald heads unite little man!
Hey Zachary, stay proud little man! Never change and keep hanging with the rest of us weirdos!
as another bald guy I can safely advise against buying an International Truck, its an addiction that Zachary should avoid.
Don't understand why your not at at least 500k subscribers. Your an awesome fabricater. Thanks for taking us on your journey.
Thank you! It’s a journey! We hope to arrive there this year! We are enjoying the creative process
I'm so glad you got back on the Zephry. My grandfather had one back in the late '30s and had a deal with Henry Ford which resulted in him naming his Oil Company, Zephry Oil. His name was Ed Gill.

My new favourite show on TV. It's so relaxing and the builds are incredible. Ian is so talented. Great watch I love it ❤️❤️❤️

Great job on the airbag install and thank you for explaining your "hows and whys" for doing it the way did.
Very cool! This shop appears to be brighter & climate efficient! 👍 Very happy for you guys!!❤️😎
Today was very up lifting in a low-down way. Bare boned way of getting the job done. Keep on rockin it Ian & Jamie.
Glad to see the progress on the Zephyr. Thank you for the update.
Things happen.. Having the skill/ability to repair it... That is the sign of a craftsman. :)

I agree, not all cars have to hop or lean to benefit from air ride, it's just nice to have adjustabilaty

The arc joint pliers are like the deluxe version of pliers cause you can grab anything, bend stuff, and tear up so much more. Hehe. I have seen guys that could take a car apart with a pair of pliers and a butter knife.
Well done, very interesting and thanks for sharing the Yin and Yank of body work
Nicely done and makes sense to me! 😊😊
When you were testing the air bags the car made me think it was breathing. Coming alive as it was.
Exactly! Finding its soul!
