- Road King Special Lighting Upgrades - In this video I show you how to install a lighting upgrade on the Road King Special in the form of Custom Dynamics Dual Color Plasma Rods. The plasma rods are run, brake and turn with run and brake in red and turn in amber. This is an easy plug and play install on your Harley Davidson Touring motorcycle. I added these lights in order to provide more light so that I can be seen both during the day and at night while riding. These are a great addition to the bike and can be used on many motorcycles in addition to Harley Davidsons. Please check with Custom Dynamics for your specific application.

ALL-IN-ONE DUAL COLOR RUN/BRAKE/TURN WITH SMOKED LENS
Plasma Rods™ use a patented LED technology to produce a bright, incredibly smooth light output. Plasma Rods™ can mount about anywhere but they work great between your saddlebags & fender/filler panel. Units are pre-taped for mounting to left and right sides of the motorcycle. With their smoke lens, Plasma Rods™ are almost invisible when off. Dual Color Plasma Rods™ are offered as dim red running light with high intensity red brake and full contrast amber turn signal. Use 8" length for OEM H-D™ rear fender/saddlebags and 10", 12" or 14" length for extended bags.
Optional plug & play versions are equipped with a connector and in-line quick disconnect for a simple plug & play installation when used with one of the Plasma Rods™ Wiring Adapters (sold separately). Plug and play versions require the purchase of the LED Plasma Rods™ and corresponding wiring adapter to fit your motorcycle.

WOW! You are really lit up back there. I am sure it helps you to be seen which I think is even more important on a black bike...I have CD lights on the back of my old bike too. I have been going back and forth in my mind about the pro beam fog lights that they have. I like being seen, but I also like seeing as well as possible, especially at night. Godspeed

I have all custom dynamic lights in the front of my 22 road glide even the headlight and now the whole road is lit up at night i can see everything even in the ditches,those plasma rods are my next install i already have the bag blades.

Rick have you thought about the spots and turnsignals down on the forks like the road king standard. I dont like the turn signals on the handlebars.

I have a 2018 Road Glide and I have installed the CD bag and fascia lights. I also have the Magic Strobe.
Do you have a video showing how to use the red jumper cable to make all the lights strobe and not just the stick brake lights?
I do not have a specific video on that but my guess is you may have the magic strobe installed after the connections for the other Custom Dynamics products. The magic strobe needs to be the first connection to the stock plug and then everything else after that. Then everything will strobe when brakes are applied. Give that a try and let me know if that gets them all to strobe. The other option is to call Custom Dynamics and they can walk you through it as well. @@indysteve2875 You do not have to use that jumper wire to get them to work. It's just the order they are connected. Hopefully that will take care of it.
What are riders trying to accomplish by adding that many lights on the rear of their bikes? Adding another run/brake/turn light to a bike that has upgraded factory run/brake/turn lights on the rear does little for being "seen" when we're dealing with driver inattention.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The factory lights on that bike are actually old fashion halogen bulbs which are not very bright at all. All lighting is now LED which burn cool and are much brighter. I light my bikes up so I have a better chance of being seen...I would compare it to a police or emergency vehicle...lots of lights to hopefully be seen. In a couple of weeks I'm going to feature a new product from CD. No other LED company has it and it's been in development for a while. They have patents pending on it. It's an industry first.
What size are those plasma rods ?

@HDVIBE one more question, when I measure to see how long I want my rods do I measure down 2 inches and go from there to the bottom ?
My mistake. I actually used 8 inch plasma Rida. Yes measure from the bottom and leave about 2 inches at the top of the fascia. That is about the set up that is on the RKS. 👊✌️👍
Personally brother I think it’s overkill. I like it better without the extra lights
