Thanks for dropping in again to Tone.Yard.Music, my personal Creative Portal.
I've created a cool 80s Mashup to test a few sounds on the Boss SY-300, all the sound you hear I have created from scratch using the Blender mode.
I've recorded the bass and backing guitars using my GT-100.

I knew this pedal could do SOOOOO much more than the other demos showed. Boss should pay you (because you're clearly doing more to sell this thing than anyone else is.)

hahaha thanks bruv, had to polish up on the gentle up and down sweeps for that - that's about as far as I'll ever go with sweeping haha.
Hey Jared great demo of the unit. I am glad I stumbled on this as I have a mini Maton EMD6 and I got the GR55 with the GK pickup after installing I had endless issues with tracking and ghost notes. Sure I had to relearn how to play as is normal with Synths. But eventually I sold it. Very frustrated, but lately I been seeing so many guys using the GR 55 and also the SY 100 but I never gave the SY300 a thought merely because I didn’t know if it would work with acoustic. I don’t play much electric at gigs these days. I live in London originally from KZN South Africa so I’m sure I have seen you in a few Barnyard shows. We probably have met as I use to have a lot to do with Barnyard Gateway.
Anyhow what I am wanting to do is have some nice synth tones and also the main thing is I watch a Chap on You tube by the name of Nuno Casais he is an incredible loop artist. He combined the GR55 with his Maton acoustic and has bass and acoustic guitar combined and it sounds amazing. Go take a listen. Now I was wondering if the SY would do a similar job. Sorry for all the questions as almost of my work is looping and acoustic guitar with a beat buddy pedal. Hope you don’t mind the long message bud

I play in or have played in a couple 80's cover bands (not for everyone) All these WANKERS demonstrating this device, not that theres anything wrong with that but how many of us will be playing Pat Metheny type music on stage? Finally someone showing a practical application and some chords for crissakes on an acoustic no less! Thank You! Can't wait to see more of your stuff.

@@davidhenrylake2047 gp10 guitar out to synth yes sir. Luckily these units also all came with axillary in so you could link 2 pedals without effecting each other too.

Hey! Good job dude! Have a question, this synth have the same effects like Roland gr-55?

This DEMO is the synth you hear. It doesn't do PIANO, drums etc. It's a Frequencies generator pedal, using filters, eq, etc, no PCM like the 55. I find this pedal is perfect for 80s style synth, vocal type synths and pads that feel like strings. I programmed the drums and bass guitar underneath as well as Rhythm Electric Guitar. I try to visually make it as obvious as possible to "see" what this pedal sounds like in a mix.

I'm almost certain I've seen videos with it. Will a nylon work with a regular guitar pickup? If so... Yeah should work
Nice! I assume that you are using piezo mic here? How it is tracking with piezo or is magnetic pickup better?

That was cool! THe best demo so far. I would have turned the rhythm guitars down some to show the synth tones a bit better.

Difficult one cause I don't see a lot of guys using it. Wish I still had my load on this unit. Was a wonderful experience to have.
You can find a lot of user patches here, though a lot is focused mainly on using the FX rather than using the SY-300 as a synth:

cool.my.band does 80s and disco i play bass i can see some practical.use ..can.you blend the bass or guitar sound with the synth

I have a GT10, I want to buy a gt100 or a sy300. I am really undecided about which one to buy.
What I really wonder is the real difference in sound quality of gt10 and gt100. Is the GT100 THAT superior? I know that GT10 has more handling because it has buttons and just looking at it you know what is ON and what is OFF.
But I mean, the sound quality is that superior for gt100? Some people say there is not quite a big difference.
Hi. GT1 100 and 10 all use the v2 brain so you get up to the old boss technology before the 1000 AIRD tech. 1 and 100 are identical in sound but have a few differences on EQ frequency band selections you can adjust, off by maybe 50 or 100 hz. And obviously depending on your needs a 100 has fx loop, Amp control and midi. The 10 is the same but includes guitar modeling. And only 1 fx slot, the others all have 2. Sy is completely it's own thing. Nothing else comes close but the sy doesn't do amps like any GT pedals.
Sorry I meant GP10 not Gt10. The gt10 is more Roland type amplification, the 100 on v2 firmware is a huge improvement. Check out the gp10 though and GT1 if you don't want to spend too much cash and try smaller models of big pedals like the 100. Don't just jump to a 1000 unless you've really gotten your way around the software.

Having to manually program sy1000 while looking at the sy300 patch were an anal lol

Thank you for such a rad comment! Honestly I tried for weeks to learn synth programming and I just couldn't understand all of it. I mainly used the blender feature and then did minor tweaks to smoothen it out. Have you downloaded the sounds? :)
