Although the weather has a big influence on someone's condition the way people feel has much more to do with other influences than just the weather. Culture, religion, governence, law influences the quality of life also. Look in Russia, cold country but people feel better there than people in Europe.

I’m just speaking from personal experience, that I feel significantly lower energy in cold climate, even when I’m on holiday in winter. Our laws, governance, economy are pretty shit compared to those of European countries, yet we are generally quite happy people all around. Once, I and my two moslem female friends wearing hijab saw a male European tourist standing by a mosque in Malioboro Street, Yogjakarta. We greeted him and asked what he was doing. He said that he was watching the Moslems in the mosque doing prayer. He wanted to get in but since he wore shorts, we recommended him to wear longer pants or clothes. Instead of getting in, he kept telling how he was amazed with the women Moslems he saw. He said that we looked friendly and free. We wore hijab in many colors and many styles of outfits. He added that this was much far from what he thought about Islam and Moslems.

There's a saying in Indonesian that "Happiness is simple". You can interpret this as you like, but for me, Happiness is to always be thankful everyday even with the smallest thing. By this, you will realize more and more that life is fulfilling. Some day maybe harder than usual but it's the small happy things that counts Our life in Indonesia is not always good, there are still many bad things here but I guess that we try to live our life to the fullest. I do still have depression and anxiety but when you try to be more positive(and some therapy from professional), everything will be alright

Once, I and my two moslem female friends wearing hijab saw a male European tourist standing by a mosque in Malioboro Street, Yogjakarta. We greeted him and asked what he was doing. He said that he was watching the Moslems in the mosque doing prayer. He wanted to get in but since he wore shorts, we recommended him to wear longer pants or clothes. Instead of getting in, he kept telling how he was amazed with the women Moslems he saw. He said that we looked friendly and free. We wore hijab in many colors and many styles of outfits. He added that this was much far from what he thought about Islam and Moslems.

Funny thing the one who celebrate when he went into Jail was a Chinese, who work together with some politicians and religion extremist, google him Harry Tanoesoedibjo, he literally had a photo of him with some dirty politician (he is one too) with a cake that written "Selamat, Ahok masuk penjara" / "Congrats, Ahok goes to jail" on it. And a lots muslim mothers, with hijab, cry for him when the judge gave his sentence.

There's a saying in Indonesian that "Happiness is simple". You can interpret this as you like, but for me, Happiness is to always be thankful everyday even with the smallest thing. By this, you will realize more and more that life is fulfilling. Some day maybe harder than usual but it's the small happy things that counts
Our life in Indonesia is not always good, there are still many bad things here but I guess that we try to live our life to the fullest. I do still have depression and anxiety but when you try to be more positive(and some therapy from professional), everything will be alright
