    Good stuff here that ive been wondering about. Thanks for sharing. As a learning guitar repair person im always looking for new things and variations in instruments.

    Been watching your videos and I think you do very good work. Couple things though that I think you might rethink next time around. Try just pulling the bolts out of the heel, or just loosen them. Then floss the neck heel without removing the fretboard tongue. It's a real time saver and it keeps the original string alignment intact. Never glue the heel to the sides. Even or especially on a dovetail joint. Not being critical just something to think about.

      The heel was stuck to the side by glue, or bonded to the finish. Note how I had to wiggle it loose after the tongue was separated. The neck had to come all the way off. And the heel is concave. The bolt inserts are about 1/8" recessed. Only the edge touches, and wood glue does not permanently bond wood to finish. Only a little is used and It's just a filler in this situation.
