Sir Love ur videos, go to harbor freight and buy moving blankets and cover the countertops, don’t lay ur tools on they without covering first, easy way to have a customer claim u damaged it. Also use super stretch caulking. The best and waterproof.
I charge by the job, not by the hour, is there a way to use that app without hourly prices? For example, I might get called to hang a couple of pictures, or I can get called to clean a main line. Both will take about a half an hour but, I will charge around $100 for the picture hanging and $350 for the clean out. Or certain jobs I have set prices like installing a ceiling fan or light fixtures or unclogging a drain. If you are a handyman at any capacity, you should not ever charge by the hour, you are getting hired to do multiple things for many skills that the homeowners don’t possess. Don’t short change yourself by charging by the hour.
Yes, I agree you should not charge by the hour, we do not charge by the hour either, this app works great whether you charge by the hour or not, you can set whatever prices you want inside the app.
Thanks for the video... I'm already a member of Markate app,it's definitely a great tool for a person in business. You didn't show how you cut the attic stairs to fit the height.
Enjoy seeing these wlogs and I'm looking forward to going fulltime handyman. I use markate for estimates, notifications & reviews. But I'm still syncing with quickbooks and taking payments over there and sending invoice from qb.
I enjoy your podcast 👊🏾 is it possible to interview more handy man guys in the city example NYC Jersey city Stamford Connecticut A lot younger guys starting to get into this business Thanks and keep the podcast going 💪🏾👊🏾
I used to use that software but switch to Markate about 4 years ago and it is by far way better and has way more capabilities and the added CRM feature makes the world of difference! In my opinion the invoice even estimating design is much more Superior!
Does Markate allow to store information on property managers and tenants separately and notify, and communicate with, them separately (also invoice the manager, not the tenant)?
Safety issue. At time stamp 11:50, you cross arm over your chop saw. You used your right hand on the saw then crossed your left arm over the blade to hold the trim. Never ever do this!!! If something were to happen. Body instinct is pull away. In this position your left arm only has one place to go, and that's into the blade.
Did you include the cost of the attic stairs in your fee of $1,000? If you didn’t and you charged $1,000 for labor only, you better drop the word “honest” from your business name LOL.
Thanks for following along with our journey victor! I will work on getting Spanish subtitles, I never knew that was something people who watch the channel wanted! Thanks for chiming in and I will definitely work on that

Curious if you still use this app 2 years after the video
Be it a door, window, whatever, if you glue your trim together on the floor before you install it - you will get perfect joints every tome
Use Markate myself was recommended to me by Jason Call aka “the Dude”. Very happy with it.
So awesome! Yes Jason is the dude!!!💪💪💪

I use wave and really like the invoice design. What does yours look like? is it plain or nice design features?

This function is limited on markate
Great video. Truly appreciate but just be careful with customer information. I would recommend you blur out.
Thanks I appreciate it!
On the app, does have the cost for services written or do you do the input on the software. Love your videos, thank you
Thanks for information
Your so welcome I am glad this video was helpful for you!!
How much do you pay for Markate app roughly per month?
Safety issue. At time stamp 11:50, you cross arm over your chop saw. You used your right hand on the saw then crossed your left arm over the blade to hold the trim.
Never ever do this!!!
If something were to happen. Body instinct is pull away. In this position your left arm only has one place to go, and that's into the blade.
Good catch. Safety first and it should be a habit to use safe procedures when using tools.
How much deposit do take from a client?
Why do you think the light switches are so high in that Hall way?
Childproof? Or maybe so you can push them with your nose?
Those particular switches are for the attic lights. I am not sure why they are there, never seen that before
Wow 10% off I save $3 whole dollars whippeee!
Every little bit helps!
What was the charge for this job?
You charge by the hour?
Nope, we charge by the job but all labor is factored down to an hourly rate that is unspoken to the client
Do you have a video where you talk about this? Do you adjust your estimate if time to complete the project is over or under?
Come on, 10% discount on first month is a joke.
Ok, for you you pay full price! 😂
Sorry partner but every little bit helps
They used to offer a FREE introductory month.
@@handymanjourney google does this for free.

faithful follower of your friend but you had to have subtitled in Spanish
Thanks for following along with our journey victor! I will work on getting Spanish subtitles, I never knew that was something people who watch the channel wanted! Thanks for chiming in and I will definitely work on that
No drop cloth? And there should of been another guy to help catch old ladder. Ok good job
Thanks joe
you charged $1100 to change a attic ladder? That's crazy. I would probably charge $300 for that job am I missing something here?
Yeah, $800
@FDDLERSGREEN how do you justify $1100? It's not a long or hard job.
Another fake handyman who is just a contractor trying to sucker you into watch hours. Do this job as a handyman and you are breaking the law.
😂 thanks for your comment, have a great day
