I have been binge watching 6.0 LS Tate downs. One trick i plain to use was cleaning the carbon out with Barrymen’s B12 injector cleaner. That stuff is magical. Thanks for sharing.
I followed you step by step and disassembled my 6.0 LS . This was my 1st time disassembling a LS motor and your video was perfect. I even went to the store and rented the same pulley. Thank you for the upload.
Yooooo, im so glad you posted again, i was binging your corvette content and i ended up checking all your socials to see if you still posted anywhere anymore 😂
Thank you for the support! unfortunately life happened in a couple different ways but I’m back now. I’ll be posting to more than just my instagram stories now 😂
Sorry for the late reply, now that I have the Duramax back on the road I can finally get this block to the machine shop then I can start getting videos of the build pumped out.
@@MitchCarveth yeahh man i watched your last video and said mane i can see the block thats suppose to be at the machine shop 😂😂 its all love man life be lifen
@@MitchCarvethHello I own a Chevrolet express 6.0 LQ4 with 90,000 miles, I live in France in a region where the climate is temperate, I do 6000 miles per year, I drive mainly in the summer, and I tow a 6000 lbs trailer, should I stick to the oil recommended by the manufacturer 5W30 or can I use a 5W40 for example???
So I have a 04 Chevy Silverado Z71 with the 5.3 an I was looking at intake manifolds for it an see the fast 102 intake an thought it would be nice on the truck but as I was doing my research everyone says that it don't fit that motor then it got me digging an found out apparently the 5.3 gen 3 is not a ls it's a small block base for the ls crates it's more so a 5.3 vortex V8 small block tho the web said it does share the same designs as a ls but that's where I get confused if it's the same designs almost then why won't a fast 102m intake manifold fit
I apologize for such a late reply, are you looking at the truck fast 102 or the regular fast 102? either way it won't matter as long as the intake manifold you are looking at says its for "Cathedral Port" heads it will fit your truck. I'm not sure what your other mods are but I do suggest going with the Truck Fast 102 intake manifold so you dont lose any low end torque compared to the none high rise fast 102 most put on cars, that intake will give you a little more top end but your low end will suffer.

It could just be the oil pickup tube o-ring, they tend to get hard and shrink. That will drop your oil pressure due to no longer making a proper seal in the oil pump. With that many miles she may need a refresh tho. It really depends on budget and time, if you can find a good deal on a lower mile lq9 might be worth just re-gasketing it and maybe do a cam while it’s out and drop her in. Then you will have an extra engine to build for power at your own pace or sell to replenish funds.
@@MitchCarveth I did the oil pick up tube on my Denali shit was a bitch but nope still the same bro , so short answer just swap that bitch out and throw a stronger cam and etc in? 🥲
I think it’s a good call, that’s what I did when the original 5.3 exploded a lifter and sent shrapnel throughout the engine. New gaskets, stronger cam and send it.

@@MitchCarveth thank you so much I have the 102 truck intake manifold love it way more throttle response
That’s is the right one for a ls Chrysler, pulley, puller part number is the same as General Motors
B a good idea to check your cam bearings if there’s that much scarring
For sure, she’s getting all new everything
What all are you going to have done at the machine shop?
Didn't the suvs come with lq4 and the truck lq9?
All Escalades have lq9s the vortex max cover only comes on lq9s
Where you buy your blasting cabinet, and how do you like it .
look at the back of the block or inside the dash of the donor to see if it's an LQ4 or 9
Back of the block only says it’s a 6.0L
not easy to see when its in a wrecked vehicle and mashed into the fire wall. Just look in the glove box, but yes you are correct@@MitchCarveth
Subbing to see more of this!
Isn't that a lq4 with the knock sensors up top?
Lq4, Lq9, 5.3 and 4.8s have knock sensors up top. Also, lq4s will come with dish pistons and lq9s will have flat top pistons.
Hey mitch am local here in Seattle.looking for a donor vehicle to do an ls swap. Help
Escalade always has lq9 and if you get vortec max its lq9
Shits real!

Bruh, why the torque wrench 🫤
More leverage and I didn’t want to hit it with power until it was already broke free
How much is a stock rebuilt 60 cost
Not sure on stock rebuild but I will do a cost breakdown on this build when I’m done.
Where you get new stock wire harness from

Do you not own a welder? That puller could have been repaired no problem 😂
I have a welder, just lazy and didn’t want to deal with it lol

What’s up man I have a lq9 with low oil pressure it does have 300k miles would it be smart to get it rebuilt or should I just swap it ?🥲
