POV Driving Scania S520 - Descending Junkerdal in Northern Norway!

- This is one of the most problematic border crossing in Norway because of the steep hill and narrow road . If you meet another truck while climbing the hill at the narrow place and it is slippery, you are pretty much screwed. Right now Norwegians are building the tunnel through the mountain to avoid that narrow part of the road which starts at 14:00

He isn't even driving *that* fast
@@j.ceasar yes he is hes doing 50+ mph in a lorry, on a snow covered road. its irresponsible
@@noswad86 He is doing 50+ kmh, means round about 31+ mph. And his Truck has enough traction for even the smallest steering maneuvers at 50+ kmh.

Driving truck is not Just about the drive, It's about enjoying this moment when you drive.
Your video is soo...oo amazing.
Thats the exact same thing motorcycle guys say. I agree about riding a motorcycle but not riding a truck lol. I dont doubt the experience is great, but its about being in contact with the environment and feel your surroundings. You can only do that riding a bike.
@@reerjgiorge To each its own. I don't think i would be comfortable with all that gear and helmet on.
Believe me theres nothing enjoyable here, its tough work with long hours and difficult logistics, truckers are way too concentrated on work to enjoy the view.
@@pvopop4938 i once helped a trucker to unload cargo at multiple destinations for a day. And ill tell you its fine in rural areas or on the motorway/highways but cities and towns is where its really stressful especially here in Europe i don't know how is it in US but its insane. And in some places you're required yourself to unload and load stuff depending on which company you work for. Its a underpaid job for sure unless you and you won't like it unless you acquired alot of experience over the years or you're into trucking and like driving by nature and its your talent or something.
@@Modestasgailius yeah, i know, im a trucker in scandinavia. :) drivings fine mostly except in the winter and in norway, loading and unloading and paperwork is pretty shit, and the fucking trucker has to do almost All of the loading, honestly i dont know what the fuck the guys at the warehouse do or why they even hire them at all XD

@@KristoBoginski Thank you :) Its been something i wanted to do and work with for a long time, so i decided it was time now. So i quit my job a week ago, and will start full time on driving school. Great video! Lol at the US air fresheners! Also, you are driving a heck of a lot faster than I would on that road.
This is the perfect video no music just the road a man and a beast of a machine
I used to drive those roads in northern Norway with a Volvo 480. I miss the feeling of solitude on those roads. Most of those roads are covered with ice and snow from november to mars. There just isn't enough traffic to keep them cleared. As long as its cold, you can go 90 kmh, no problem. In summer and fall I sometimes stopped and fished in the rivers, lots of trouts.
The engine sounds like a beast but I feel jealous because the scenery is just so breathtaking .
No, you're breathtaking.
Thank you for your amazing work!
The snow-covered landscape is amazing. I want to be in that truck!
The most beautiful roads in the world ... I miss them
especially for this 16:50
... A breathtaking view, and this adrenaline on a steep slippery ride
As a Nowregian driving this road every winter to Sweden, I can confirm going down that part is uncomfortable, because you're not sitting as high as in a truck, so you cant's see the drop down before you're over the hil. I'ts actually steeper than it looks on the video too. Kind of like a rollercoaster.
@@mattis90001 im glad they closed that road
So today I had my first driving test on a truck trailer, and this was playing on a big TV in the waiting area. I actually watch your videos a lot so it was funny to see a driving school play your video's too! Greetings from the Netherlands
Wow, that’s really awesome! I’m surprised that driving school is showing my videos because I think new drivers shouldn’t take me as an example how to drive but I guess they rather show those videos because of the awesome landscapes and roads. ;) I do a lot of things completely opposite than it’s taught in school. 😅 (Both hands not on a steering wheel, no eco driving etc.) 😁
From the USA and I love seeing the air fresheners in your truck.
what
Driven trucks in northern Sweden for about 10 years. I can honestly say, I would never even consider crossing the border in a truck. 😉 I have such great respect for the truck drivers in Norway. I bow before my masters!
Driven a car in Norway, and some of the roads are just insane. But the scenery, my god it is a beautiful country. Every 30 seconds of driving and it's one perfect view after another.
Warmest regards from your neighbor!
As a Norwegian truck driver i can confirm this. The roads are awful, common issue we raise in politics
I was lucky enough to drive to Norway last year from the UK (3.5t van) and I have to say - Sweden and Norway are the most beautiful places I've visited. I've driven through every country in mainland Europe and Scandinavia gets my vote... Just wish it wasn't 10 bloody quid for a beer!

It is a Truck simulator not a real drive. Greetings from Switzerland.
By the way, no one can drive that fast on snow conditions downhill it is a suicide
That truck is amazing, seems incredibly comfortable to drive
The light on the mountains - wow, exquisite. The driving conditions - ulp!! But, yes, with practice and the right tires.... :)
Was some time since I was driving there, sure miss that road, but in that time we always use to call on the cb that truck was on the way down, or up, to alert outhers, since its a bit norrow at some points,
Great to see this, drive safe... 👍

The sound of the engine is very quiet, in contrast to Indonesian trucks whose sound is like a war vehicle with black smoke on behind 😁

I have played Euro Truck so much that my brain is just like, "wtf is this version of Euro Truck"
Amazing how fast you drive! 80-90 km/h many times. I wouldn’t try that with my car on these roads. But I guess a truck of 25+ tons has a lot more axle pressure per wheel than a normal car and thus more grip. Are you also using special winter tires?
Always love to watch these soothing videos during my breakfast... Truck driving looks so romantic, but I heard many times for most drivers it’s a hard job.
we are using tiers marked like this 3 peak mountain snowflake they are made for this type of driving conditions and also when we are going uphill we lift the 3 axels up so we can get up to 20ton axel pressure but we will then lose weight on front axle
Exciting engine sound and beautiful nature!
that videos so relaxing me, god damn thx bro
I have had my shares of heavy rescues on that road. Luckily it the steepest parts are now closed as a new tunnel was built. Beautiful scenery but difficult and dangerous.
My grandmother got a house on the top threre, been there since I was a kid. A lot of accidents has happened on that mountain

So I have a question. The company you work for does loads of transports to and from Scandinavia. Now I am an 18 year old Dutch guy that absolutely hates school but has always had a passion for big vehicles and Scandinavia. I know your company isn't Dutch, but as an example, would it be possible for me to apply and get a job as a driver?
if you know the language i would not see any problems, want we hebben hier ook polen :P
This comment reminded me when 1 trucker told me :"If you hate school become a trucker!"
Good luck with your trucking career Majestic Tiger
Driving in Scandinavia will be difficult to start out with, but with some experience first I'm sure you can do it :)
Finish your school first and another and then realise your passion. You can always quit or change for better one. I believe noone wants to be slave at work and noone wants to hire idiots.
Just what we need... Another driver from central europe who has never seen a hill nor proper winter. They come here, driving while risking everyone's lives on Norwegian roads.
Please don't.
Foreign truck drivers have a very bad reputation here in Norway because they keep crashing, driving without chains or on poor tires. If they only killed themselves it would just be annoying, but when you keep killing the locals with your trucks, it's not that fun.
It may be an "adventure" for you guys, but for us living here it's actual life and death danger when stupid thrill-seekers from down south think they know what they are doing.

Looks very risky to me, 90km/h downhill with a heavy truck on such a snowy road.
Snow is a lot more grippy on low temperatures, it makes that crunchy noise when you step on it and the road didn't look like it had ice underneath the snow layer.
