When people are rising to their feet even before the song has finished, that’s a testament to the emotional power of both that song and the performance of it by its singer.
She has the unique ability to sing a song with such big emotions and intensity, which flips over to the public. And she not only covers a song, no - she makes it her own in her own original style. @@kdlang7840 I heard your rendition of the theme to Goldfinger when you played at Southam Hall at Carleton U. in Ottawa so many many years ago. Any chance of you releasing a rendition of that?
It's been 2 yrs shy of 40 when my husband left me for another woman. The first few years was unbearable, crying became a pastime until the passage of time started to heal the wound and like this song, I was alright and started smiling until I watched this very tender performance of Crying by Ms Lang. Her rendition of the song opened up a wound that I thought has long time healed and I started to cry again.
We are not so different … I left my husband 1 year shy of my 40th birthday. Despite my leaving him, the grief was unbelievable (I found out after I left that he had been cheating on me). The first year as a single parent of 3 young kids I struggled to put food on the table. I only cried in the bathtub where my kids wouldn’t hear me. Grief is universal and no amount of time can take away the pain … but, I will say that leaving my husband was the best decision I could have ever made. I stood on my own 2 feet, raised my 3 kids and held my head up throughout all the pain, poverty and heartbreak! Life has a way of giving us respite when we need it and showing us that oh so needed “light at the end of the tunnel” when we need it most! Take care … love from someone in Canada

I remember seeing this over 30 years ago and thinking it was among the two or three greatest live vocal performances I’d ever seen. The intervening years have not diminished my opinion of it. I had the opportunity to see k.d. lang at my local high school auditorium in southern New Jersey in early 2000. She is, without question, the best live vocalist I’ve ever had the privilege to see in nearly 50 years of live performances. No fireworks, no histrionics, no near-nudity, seductive dances or lip-syncing.... just a voice, a band, a couple of backup singers and the song. And it was GLORIOUS. Between “Cryin’”, “Hallelujah” and “Pulling Back the Reins”, I was certain I’d never heard a better singer. She is utterly astounding.
Michael, believe it or not... you may have missed the best part of her rise... It gives me goose bumps to remember sitting in a bar in Alberta and watching a 'weirdly' dressed singer let loose and roll the place over.
K.D. Is amazing! I love her voice and her style of singing. She gives me chills and makes and leaves me crying. Ha! Her rendition of Hallelujah is also so beautiful.

There is not another voice like KD Lang she is absolutely fantastic I have not had the pleasure to see her and I hope one day I will God she is absolutely beautiful her voice is just magnificent and amazing
Lavonne McDowell. Totally agree. k.d. is simply in a class by herself. Love her.
GO! As soon as you have the chance. I think I’ve seen her live 6 times now and when singing live her voice is as stunningly gorgeous as it is here. I had tears running down my face when she sang “Hallelujah” and am so glad I stumbled across this spectacular tribute this evening. Hands down my favorite singer.
I was lucky enough to see her with Tony Bennett, she was the best!
One of the greatest voice of my time, and a truly gracious person, so much respect for K D.
Someone please invent a Time Machine and teleport me back to this concert. I don't care if I come back to the present. I want to sit there and listen to one of the best and most amazing vocal performances I have ever heard in my 70 years of living. I want to cry. This has to be the best tribute to the great Mr. Roy Orbison that there ever could be bar none. If you see their duet together kd respectfully stands behind Roy and doesn't let her voice over power his but here she can let loose with everything she has and she does in Spades. How lucky was this audience to be there and remember an angel singing.
What a concert...Dylan and the Byrds and so many more
hey, can I come along?
He was all the lyrics that moved our souls. So missed. But then she came along came along. Is she the bridge between our two countries. I’m think so. America and Canada were one to be one.🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Forever one of my favourites - and a beautiful rendition of one of Roy's hits.
K.D. Lang . Just sang this song with emotion & just beautiful. Roy with his unique voice Elvis loved Roy's voice..K.D. Thank You. Such emotion a real talent. 💖🌼🌻🌸🌹🍀
Really an amazing performance
She sang with emotion because they were actual friends
Hello there, I find it really odd writing to you because I don't usually chat with fans but After reading your comment and likes on my RUclips video , I realized how much you like and follow my RUclips video . Thanks for your support and positive vibes
@@kdlang7840 I heard your rendition of the theme to Goldfinger when you played at Southam Hall at Carleton U. in Ottawa so many many years ago. Any chance of you releasing a rendition of that?
OMGODDESS! WOW!!! What a crescendo -- KD just BELTS IT FAR eFFing OUT!!! FRISSON!
Roy must have felt it from across the veil.
It's been 2 yrs shy of 40 when my husband left me for another woman. The first few years
was unbearable, crying became a pastime until the passage of time started to heal the wound and like this song, I was alright and started smiling until I watched this very tender performance of Crying by Ms Lang.
To both of the above comments - my admiration and respect. Tough circumstances, especially with children involved. I hope you have both come through.
the most sensational voice in the galaxy

Roy Orbison gave K.D. a huge break in the music biz by singing with her in a duet this very song. Thank you K.D. & Roy!

Wow!!! Listening to to her just makes me cry. Her voice is soooo beautiful just as Roy Orbison’s is. What a gift God gave them and in turn what a gift God gave us to be able to hear them.
She's clearly not merely human - most definitely of the angelic realm for sure!!!!!
Kept seeing this recommended and it didn't disappoint. Of course, everything this artist sings is awesome to me! Thank you, k. d.!
Well-said. A great voice without the unneeded fanfare.
Michael, believe it or not... you may have missed the best part of her rise... It gives me goose bumps to remember sitting in a bar in Alberta and watching a 'weirdly' dressed singer let loose and roll the place over.
@@yukonica4560 I’m sorry I missed that. I definitely would have liked seeing her in the early days. But I did get to see her when she was still great.
@@michaelmccauley648 Yes, I agree she is still great. I believe she was born great.
Truly one of those rare and unforgettable magical moments in music! And that final sustained note! Wowooow!!!
