I had the pleasure of seeing the real Molly Hatchet 3 times in the 70's and 80's they earned my respect by putting on great shows! From a bar in Austin to the Main events in Portsmouth Va. Keep working at it new Hatchets, maybe one day yall will get close to how they performed.....
15 times here. I saw them 10-12 times with Danny Joe Brown and 3-5 times with Jimmy Farrar. The only replacement other than Jimmy was Riff West on bass, instead of Banner Thomas.
I think the lineup is-- Phil McCormick: vocals Bobby Ingram: lead and rhythm guitars Bryan Bassett: lead and rhythm guitars John Galvin: keyboards Andy McKinney: bass Mac Crawford: drums, percussion Original lead singer Danny Joe Brown was in the middle of recording “Devil’s Canyon” with the band when he fell ill from a stroke, and Phil McCormick stepped in and took over as vocalist, harmonica and all. McCormick sounded so much like DJB that it’s hard to tell who was who on the album’s cuts. A few years later, Bryan Bassett took off and joined Foghat and Dave Hlubek returned to Molly Hatchet and stayed in the lineup until he passed away at the age of 66. Bobby Ingram hasn’t even bothered to recruit a second guitarist. He believes in hogging up all the solos. Story goes that Bobby Ingram invited Bruce Crump back to Molly Hatchet, but as a hired musician. Crump told Ingram to go pound sand. I get it about the changes in any band’s lineup, but the Molly Hatchet of today is a travesty of the Molly Hatchet of the 1970s. One guitar? Really? Bobby Ingram, you can do better than that! And one more thing: why was Jimmy Elkins let go? He was a pretty good vocalist. This guy you got as singer is not cutting the mustard. Guess I’m going to have to watch the Molly Hatchet videos on RUclips to experience the real deal. I saw Molly Hatchet in 1993 at the Rocky Bayou Mullet Festival in Niceville, Florida when DJB was still singing in the band, and for two hours I was in Southern rock heaven. Joining him on bass that night was Buzzy Meekins. I’m never going to forget that night. It was fantastic. That’s the Molly Hatchet I’ll always remember and enjoy.

Not one original member, I hate when bands do this shit. They sell the name to a backup guitar player and he tries to cash in on a few more years. I guess you can go hear some of the old songs live, is the only good thing.
A lot of bands are doing this crap now days. Usually a replacement member,or the record company,or management,or promoter gets "legal use of the name" to put a fake band out on tour to cash in on the name and legacy of the group. I say there should be at least one or more original members in the group to be able to use the name and music.

@leiefilm Just FYI... this is not the same front man that you heard in the 80's. This guy is Phil McCormick (or something like that) and the original lead singer was the late Danny Joe Brown. That's who you most likely heard; albeit you might also have heard Jimmy Farrar, who was the front man for a couple albums in the mid 1980's.
