I really think Andre Rieu deserves the Nobel Prize for making people round the world happy , eencouraging good will, understanding ,optimisam,cheerfulness and of course the beauty of music and art in general. This concert in Vienna is outstanding and makes float us float above the current world problems.
Uhm, well..... sorry to say, but he is creating entertainment for the segment of the population that is well endowed. prices for his shows starting at 120 euro, up to 500+ euro depending on the venue. he is a great entertainer but he is no philanthropist, he is a shrewd business man.

This is my first day of listening to Andre Rieu, and I can imagine that he brings great joy to listeners. He is a bit of a showman, but so too was the great Franz Liszt. There is a serious side to his art too... all the hours of practice that the public never gets to see. The world needs more classical music, now more than ever. Hopefully Mr Rieu can be the bringer of classical music to homes all over the world.

I am 81 and love watching Andre Rieu repeatedly. My husband was 80 when he passed away from 5 dementias and loved watching Andre Rieu until he took his final breath. Thank you for providing the music and dancing that people with dementia can still enjoy for all their life even when they have forgotten everything else and were helpless to do anything else. This concert reminded me of my late father. He would watch the DVD we had of this concert nearly every day before he passed till the DVD was all scratched up. His favorite was "Lieppen schweigen" or "Merry Widow". He would always told me to go to the part where it was performed. I miss my dad and hearing this brought back memories of him on the last few months of his life.

Years ago I took my Mother to see him in Detroits Fox Theatre and its one of my favorite memories. Amazing concert in a magnificent theater. She's gone now but I have a brooch I gave her while there- a musical instrument. Go see them if you can. Incredible.
I've actually been watching this very show with my grandmother on DVD the last few days. We live in the States, Andre was starting to pick up popularity over here in the late 90s/early 00s, and my grandmother saw him on PBS -- what a gift that turned out to be. We went to many shows, she always managed to get us front row center, she adored those shows so much, as did I -- our first show being at the University of New Hampshire. Many of those early shows we shared a hotel with them, and once my cousins and I rushed down to meet them in the lobby. My grandmother was so mad, but they were all so lovely and kind, I think back now and believe it probably warmed their hearts a bit to see such young ones enjoy their music. My grandmother unfortunately has developed Alzheimer's/dementia over the last few years, but I don't think she'll ever forget the way Andre and the rest of the orchestra made/makes her feel. Thank you all so much for being amazing 💗🎶
Mr. Rieu invests so much of himself etc. I heard him say during an interview that beautiful music of the highest caliber is not only for the elite, that it is for everyone and that is the way it was for a long time. It wasn't a symbol of status to have access to beautiful music. He gets that and he lives it and appreciates talent and music from different cultures. I see him as an ambassador. Thank you Mr. Rieu. We all need beautiful music, regardless of class, race, etc.
We are looking forward to seeing you again next year in Birmingham , we really enjoyed your concert this year. The ultimate dream would be to see and hear you live in your home town but I don’t think that is going to be possible. The music quality, the expert conductor, the cheerful mood, and the grand setting in Vienna come together for a magical few minutes in three-quarter time. The dancers will remember this forever. This concert reminded me of my late father. He would watch the DVD we had of this concert nearly every day before he passed till the DVD was all scratched up. His favorite was "Lieppen schweigen" or "Merry Widow". He would always told me to go to the part where it was performed. I miss my dad and hearing this brought back memories of him on the last few months of his life.

Years ago I took my Mother to see him in Detroits Fox Theatre and its one of my favorite memories. Amazing concert in a magnificent theater. She's gone now but I have a brooch I gave her while there- a musical instrument. Go see them if you can. Incredible.

I've actually been watching this very show with my grandmother on DVD the last few days. We live in the States, Andre was starting to pick up popularity over here in the late 90s/early 00s, and my grandmother saw him on PBS -- what a gift that turned out to be. We went to many shows, she always managed to get us front row center, she adored those shows so much, as did I -- our first show being at the University of New Hampshire. Many of those early shows we shared a hotel with them, and once my cousins and I rushed down to meet them in the lobby. My grandmother was so mad, but they were all so lovely and kind, I think back now and believe it probably warmed their hearts a bit to see such young ones enjoy their music. My grandmother unfortunately has developed Alzheimer's/dementia over the last few years, but I don't think she'll ever forget the way Andre and the rest of the orchestra made/makes her feel. Thank you all so much for being amazing 💗🎶

Mr. Rieu invests so much of himself etc. I heard him say during an interview that beautiful music of the highest caliber is not only for the elite, that it is for everyone and that is the way it was for a long time. It wasn't a symbol of status to have access to beautiful music. He gets that and he lives it and appreciates talent and music from different cultures. I see him as an ambassador. Thank you Mr. Rieu. We all need beautiful music, regardless of class, race, etc.
We are looking forward to seeing you again next year in Birmingham , we really enjoyed your concert this year. The ultimate dream would be to see and hear you live in your home town but I don’t think that is going to be possible. Anyway thank you for all the joy you and your orchestra bring to so many people round the world.

The music quality, the expert conductor, the cheerful mood, and the grand setting in Vienna come together for a magical few minutes in three-quarter time. The dancers will remember this forever. It was wonderful just to watch.
