Proud of how you handled the interaction with those young boys, Jacob! I keep forgetting you worked with kids professionally for years before RUclips! Much respect and love ✊🏾
I was thinking the same thing!
It was really good of him to keep the kids in the video and not edit them out of it.
Im from Louisville thank you for taking your time out your day to Inspire and influence others whos curious about Kentucky kingdom . Stay inspired ✨️
I'm a native, myself. 👌

JACOB THAT WAS NICE OF YOU TO LET THE BOYS ON YOUR VIDEO SO SWEET MAN
Jacob was awesome. I got to meet him at the end of the day at this amusement park. He is so humble and nice. It great to meet you finally.
Awe those boys love ya!! You’re so cool for giving them a voice too. All too often our youth are just pushed aside!! You go Jacob!! 🎉❤
Hey, sometimes support the younger generation. That's what I was told
I am surprised this hasn't happened lots of times before!❤
T3 was one of the roughest coasters ever built by Vekoma. It was a prototype suspended coaster. Would leave you bruised and battered after riding it. As a kid it was fun rode it 15 times in a row one day. But later years could not even get myself to ride it.
Sadly it’s going to be scrapped.
I remember it as T2. It was the roughest thing hands down as is the Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis.
It had a different name originally, one name was T2, I am thinking it was also called Batman for a year. I always liked this ride. A few years ago someone dropped their cellphone while on the ride and it hurt a lady, the ride has been closed ever since.
Yeah, it was rough, but it sure was fun, wasn't it? Hi, fellow Louisvillian, lol!
@@scruffydog2 That is sad, they shouldn't sell it for scrap they should throw it in a Volcano.
10:07+ on had me laughing. You're a good sport Jacob.
Hell Yeah! Kentucky Kingdom my local park!!!
And yes King Louie does have a mascot costume but I don’t know when he’s out. Also the aqua theater used to have a sea lion show
Hello fellow Louisvillian, lol! I don't remember the sea lion show. Was that during the Sucks Flags years?
@Marie BellaDonna nice to meet another Louisvillian too
Omg that was so funny with the kids ! I’m glad they were respectful and told everyone to subscribe to your channel and you let them give there info, it was funny , we need more tolerance some would have probably cursed them or worse yet shot at them in this hateful , mean awful place that this world has turned into , thank you Jacob for being patient , you are truly the person you speak to be ❤ much respect , love and light to you and yours , Namaste🙏🏽🧘🏽♀️❤️✌🏽
Bro ain’t nobody gonna shoot those kids 😂
@@tacobob3953I just smoked and read that and was like…wait is this the world we live in now? Lol but sadly it is
You riding that cello, filmed from that angle was hilarious. Very surreal.
I know a lot of people seem to be annoyed by those kids, but I thought it was great how they got so excited and you didn't shut them down. I knew they'll remember that. 😊
They were excited and were not being mean or disrespectful, just happy to see kids hanging out and having fun
I rode the T3 several years ago. The problem was that it was very shakey when you rode it. A lot of people would come off the ride with headaches. I personally liked it, but that's just me
It was a rough ride. I came off with a few headaches of my own. But I loved it, too!
So when I was a foster kid in Kentucky I lived at a group home downtown called boys haven. One of our field trips was to Kentucky kingdom, and we were early and they let us in and so we stood in line for what was then the biggest and fastest coaster there, Chang was it’s name, it’s no longer there… but anyway we got in the line for it and the operator saw us waiting down there and hollered to come up, he let us ride the entire test circuit, we got to go around and around continuously like 20 times. One of my best memories but it really spoiled rollercoasters for me, nothing compares to getting to do 20 laps with no wait! Thanks to whoever that operator was for giving us all a great memory!
I literally live 5 minutes up the street and was wondering if it was worth going inside. Now, I can’t wait to go to KK… I think I’ll skip parking and just walk to the park. Thank you for covering this one especially
Hello, fellow Louisvillian! 😊
If u get a pass u get free parking
@@mariebelladonna437 heyyyyyyyyyyy
@@wrestlingandamusementparkl7789 thank you 💖
You should def go!! When we went there were hardly any wait times, except at the water park part of it.
I love how sweet and energetic the boys were! And my goodness Jacob, ur so sweet to let them be in ur vids!
Those kids were so annoying and you handled it so well! As always a class act. If that was me I wouldn't have been able to keep it rolling and handle it so well. Bravo sir, well done!
That has me laughing lol
How were they being rude? They provided some interesting content 😂
I loved how he handled it, but they could have asked first instead of just bursting in
We have to admit, it made a great convo topic for this vlog.
How was we rude cuzz 😭😂
Fabulously managed the youngsters! Clearly they were familiar with vlogging and they felt it easy to speak to you and to draw attention to themselves for their time of fame. I recall your lake stroll video and so communications are a chore in certain situations. You were great. The kids rambunctious excitement added to the spontaneity of the video and entertainment value. Well played! Without a doubt this was fun stuff… in the bag!
So sweet to those boys! Good job Jacob!
I didn't know what to expect from the kids by reading the comments, but they were just being friendly teenagers. I loved that the one showed himself subscribing to your channel.
I lived in Louisville for 13 years! Rode my first and last roller coaster there when it was still a Six Flags
It is awesome how young people are drawn to you and you handle it so well.
Kentucky Kingdom first opened in 1987, though the state fair board started talking about it in 77. I went during the opening season with my grandparents. My sweet grandma thought at 9 I was too young for every ride by the carousel.
I was born and raised in Louisville, kentucky and have been going to kentucky kingdom for years, they used to have a dolphin/seal shiw at the aqua theater for years i can't believe they got rid of it the trainers were so awesome and really knew how to treat the animals and sometimes you could pet the animals i really really miss the aqua theater shows😭😭😢😢, thanks you so so so so much for coming to louisville and showing off kentucky kingdom i hope you have a blessed day 🙏
Ive spent the last 5weeks working my way through 8 years of your videos in order and liking each one! Ill keep going till ive watched every one on your list. I love them and share your interests, thank you for showing me things ill never get to see for myself. Wishing you every success Jacob xx
We rode that second carousel (19:05) back in 2018, and it's good to hear that it's *still* the most discordant carousel I've ever heard!
This was a most unique Amusement Park!!! They had lots of rides I had never seen before, n the wave pool, n the pogo stick show were all very interesting!!! Thanks for showing this unusually cool park!!! Another stellar find!!! Attaboy Carpetbagger!!!
Jacob you might have set a record for the most subscribes while filming a vlog 😆😆😆
I love the flying dutchman so much its so silly and fun
Also i was surprised when they chose to bring a second drop tower back to the park after the superman incident. But that was Six Flags fault really.
I hope they add more to the park, i went when it was Six flags all the time and it had a strong decline even before the accident due to their management. Since the owners are now the Dollywood people i hope to see a ton of love poured into the park. It needs new theming centered around Kentucky as a whole
Man that's cool how you were with the kids! Props bro!
Lord those children 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 bless their heart! Your so patient, that’s the Social Worker in ya! The Merry Go Round with the instruments is so cool. I’m sorry but if I see Timmy I’m screaming for my LIFE! 😂😂😂
Hate dolls as it is. Timmy floating next to me I am running on top of the water 😂

@@debraharrison6170 🤣🤣🤣 we just have to be faster then the slowest person
shout out the young guys for telling everybody to like the video
OMG I love that instrument carousel! So cool! I'd go here just for that ride
6:27 This ride’s name was an Easter egg for my dad who was the director of marketing for the park in the 90’s and also during the reopening around 2014. He, a few other Kentucky Kingdom alumni, and myself all created the Save My Park project to get the park reopened after Six Flags closed its doors. Loved seeing you get to visit, it’s been years since I’ve been able to go!
Fun Fact, Dippin Dots are also a Kentucky Original made in Paducah
Did not know that!
Those teenagers struck me as punks, but at least they were friendly punks. That log ride reminded me of one at Great America. You got even wetter on the bridge than you did on the ride!
Come show me im a punk u in Louisville et was me in et vid lil bruh😂
On soul I ain't no punk cuz 😭😂

Oh my goodness I lost it at 11:33. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Originally in the 80s, Kentucky Kingdom was the smaller, original side of the park on the Kentucky Exposition Center property. When the park expanded in the 90's, until now it went across "The Road" (Circle of Champions) which beltways the entire property.
So T3 was a fun ride for the most part... the reason it is so hated is because the restraint on the coaster was an overhead vest style restraint. The amount of headaches you would get on the ride was crazy from the inversions and constant shaking from the ride due to it being older. I personally loved it but i liked coasters as a kid.
looking forward to seeing what they do with it, we are Dollywood passholders and love it, been to Silver Dollar City once and loved it also
Oh my favorite sound in the world!! *Hey, you all" never lets me down!! Love the video today!
So happy you got to visit my home park! 25:58 T3 was... interesting. It was a prototype of its kind, the second ever built by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. It was notorious for being a veeery turbulent roller coaster, which stayed true throughout its life. Really robotic transitions at high speeds meant it jostled your body around a lot very hard during the ride. Some tolerated its intensity (like me), many others vowed never to ride it again. Safe to say it had a good run since the 90's, but not many will miss it. 😅
Ha ha those guys cracked me up...bombarding you there in the test seat! Thanks for bringing us all somewhere new.
My home park! It's a 10 min drive from me. 😃 Thanks for covering it, Jacob.
The you bag carpets? Comment had me deceased 😅😅
Awww rollercoaster time😂 I love that you do this for us. Your a awesome guy😊
Oof, what a packed day there. I would've turned around seeing that full parking lot!
Due to a few of the city pools being closed, they are giving free admission to kids who would normally use those pools.
Father’s Day plus gold & diamond pass holders could bring a friend for free, made for a super busy day. We got there when the park opened and it wasn’t too busy for the first couple of hours, so that was nice 😂😂😂
Jacob-this is a long comment, but I hope you read it, because I have a lot of cool memories to share with you, and hopefully it'll answer some of your questions, too. This is the most awesome video you've put out yet! Louisville is my hometown, and Kentucky Kingdom (we always just called it KK) is my home park! SO cool to see you there! I practically grew up there, and had a pass every year from about 1992 on, until I grew up and moved away. In fact, I still have one of my old passes from circa 92/94, when it was laminated paper, and was a combination KK/Louisville Zoo pass. Mom would take us, when we were younger (I was around 12 or 14), and we'd come in through the Hurricane Bay entrance. Back then, everything to the left of the wave pool was a big gravel parking lot. She'd tell us what time to meet back with her, and then she would stay in Hurricane Bay by the wave pool, laying out (and yes, the gong means the waves are gonna start, so it's your signal to get out of, or into, the pool, depending on your preference, lol), while we ran the park. Those sure were different times, lol. It was safe, clean, fun, and family friendly (and it still is, but I'm still not sure I'd let my own kid roam on his own, lol). Well, except for the Sucks Flags years-which may be where the aqua park thing came from, because I sure don't remember it-but we Louisvillians don't talk about those years. The Breakdance was always one of my favorite rides. It's probably been there at least 30 years. As have the merry-go-round, the pirate ship, the Tin Lizzies (the Model-T car ride), the Ferris Wheel, and of course Thunder Run, our award winning crown jewel. Almost since the beginning. The 5D theater building used to house a dark ride roller coaster names the Star Chaser. I loved it. But some people got hurt, when one car rear ended another-it turned out to be operator error, IIRC-and it was taken out not long after. There used to be an Enterprise ride right next to the Star Chaser building, I think where the Scream Extreme is now. Behind the Breakdance, next to the pirate ship, (was relaced for a while with a stupid Wild Mouse coaster, don't know what's there now) there was a roller coaster called the Vampire, and it was the first coaster I ever rode, the one that really started my love of thrill rides. There was a top spin ride called the Quake, I think where those two waterslides now are. It was awesome. And I think the Eye of the Storm used to be the Top Eliminator Dragsters, a drag racing ride, but it was more recent, and wasn't open long. The Flying Dutchman and the blimp kiddie ride have been around for ages, and Mile High Falls (the flume ride) and the Roller Skater have been around for quite a while, too. The footbridge has been there almost since the beginning, but the ground-level pedestrian crossing is much newer. That road, by the way, used to be-and still often is, by us locals-called Ring Road, and it encircles the Fairgrounds, and has various access point in and out. More recently, it was renamed the Circle of Champions. For whatever that's worth, lol. I don't remember the live music in Hurricane Bay, but I DO recall them constantly playing "California Dreamin'" by the Mamas and the Papas on the loudspeakers, lol. We used to have a stand-up coaster, too, called Chang. But Sucks Flags took it-and again, we don't talk about them. Lol. T3 had been around for years, as well. I remember riding it back when it was called T2. That stood for Terror to the 2nd (or 3rd) Power, BTW. It WAS a rough ride. I came off it with a few headaches myself. But I still loved it, and I was very sad when I learned they were getting rid of it. And that aside, Thunder Run is much rougher-as wooden coasters often are, IF you don't know how to ride them right-but it's absolutely beloved. I love it, too-though I'm not sure how well my old body would love it now, lol. More recently, there used to be another wooden coaster, Twisted Sisters, later renamed Twisted Twins, that had dueling coasters, at one time a front-facing one and a backward-facing one, where the Storm Chaser stands. The drop tower you saw, replaced the old drop tower, the Hellevator, renamed the Superman: Tower of Power by Sucks Flags, on which a teenaged girl was very badly injured, and sadly lost one leg, below the knee (it's a very well known accident, so you can google it if you want, but I won't dwell on it here-it was during the SF years, and also this comment is WAY too long already, lol). And yes, there is a King Louie walkaround mascot, but I guess he's only around during certain times. Also, Herschend does run KK now. But you didn't mention how, after Sucks Flags abandoned it, and left it to rot for several years, it was saved by a huge community effort, and by Ed Hart, the Louisville businessman who really started it all, way back in the beginning. The park itself did not open in 77, that's when plans were announced. Construction didn't begin until 86, and the park opened in 87. Then it went bankrupt, like you said, but Hart swooped in-despite initially declining-and had it up and running, and successful, in 1990. And he brought it back, forming the Kentucky Kingdom Redevelopment Company in 2010 and finally, after several false starts-some involving other companies-and a lot of uncertainty, securing $28.5 million from investors, plus an additional $1 million per year for upgrades, and reopening the park for business in 2014. Some of that came from his own pocket. The park was, some say, his baby, and he never gave up on it. He's a hometown hero. Herschend only came on board in 2021, and they are a majority partner, but Mr. Hart IS still there behind the scenes, and he's still a part of things. Oh, and I feel like that globe you saw at the end MIGHT have sat atop the fountain at the entrance, at one point, but I could be wrong about that. Anyway, I'm sorry this was so long, but your video brought back so many wonderful memories of my childhood and young adulthood. I'd love to go back to KK. But I live almost an hour away now. And $150 or more for a one-day family outing is just out of reach for me right now, unfortunately. But you let me live it vicariously, and for that, Sir, I thank you. 😊
This is a first of hearing anyone using “KK” referring to Kentucky Kingdom! I also grew up in L’ville and had season passes every summer in the 90s but we always just called it “Kingdom” sometimes TheKingdom but NEVER heard “KK” LOL
@@JUSAGUYNKY lol my friends and I always called it KK, all our young lives. Guess kids will always come up with different things. X-D
I lived in Louisville for 3 years, my middle school years. Kentucky Kingdom was definitely one of my favorite things to do. I also remember Chang and the Hellevator. I went from 95 to 98. I think you're right about the globe. I definitely remember it that way as well.
That front splash guard/window on the log ride was added because of my cousin. Back in the 90's she was standing in front of the glass that you were behind (there wasn't a front glass section), and the force of the water threw her through what is now the back glass. She had glass all in her legs and arms and needed several surgeries. I hadn't thought of that in a long time, but your video brought back a lot of memories :)
Your in my neck of the woods this time. I've lived within 15 mins of KY Kingdom my entire life. Used to get the season passes every year in high school back in the mid 90s up until around 2000 or so. Personally I think it was the best ran and most fun when it was a Six Flags but overall it hasn't changed much. Yes the part across the street was an expansion. The drop tower used to be called Hellavator and was the largest in the US for a short time. Alot of fun memories in that place for sure.
People did like T3, they hated when it was the old version called T2 because of the original seats. It was a painful experience.
Looks like a fun day, that was very sweet how you let the young kids in and talk with you on camera. Much respect and very kind of you. ❤❤ I like how you let them and find their voice to find out about you and share their kindness about them. Much respect. ❤ Stay hydrated and have a good time. Cheers ❤😊
Hi Carpetbagger i live in the Highlands for years on Barrett Ave. Here in Louisville. Good to see you on video at Kentucky kingdom. Awesome 😎👍 thanks for sharing, stay safe and take care 🙏🤓📸
Lol kids were the best part. Makes the atmosphere and video real because thats how parks are. I use to work in one.
T-3 used to be called the Vampire when it first opened. That weird loop back curve in the middle that looks kind of like a bowtie. the ride used to get stuck all the time there and people had to be rescued. Was very frequent.
I grew up on Kentucky kingdom when it was six flags and was a kid when it closed down. When they opened it back up the owner did a great job bringing the park back to life. Since then it’s did nothing but grow.
Those boys were funny .they just wanted to be in the video .then when they left .that little boy snuck up behind to be in the video 😊
I keep telling you this. You're the next Mr. Rogers of RUclips.. You are a positive influence On people. That's sir, is a super power.. With great power comes the greatest responsibility. Someone please draw carpet bagger, a super hero Custom and make it as a pin. Please.
That kid creeping on the left lol
10:33 omg them kids have jokes man 😂
This is a neat amusement park Jacob. I love the few coasters they have and that water rude with heavy splashdown! WOW! Good time on a hot day for sure.
This place was my place to go during the summers when I was a teenager. It certainly has changed a lot (and for the better) over the years. Plenty of fond memories and friends made there. Also, just an FYI, it's not a public road any longer. KY Kingdom used to be just on the entrance side and stop at that road. When they expanded, they built Hurricane Bay and a few other rides on the other side of the road and then it was no longer a public road. However, they were separated into two different parks. They had different parking areas and different tickets. A couple of years go by and then they joined them together and built quite a few more thrilling rides. If the rides Chang and Vampire were still there you'd want to ride them. There are other videos on YT if you want to research them. I hope you had fun in my hometown!
Man I wish people would stop interrupting your vlogs, I'm so sorry! That's pretty stressful to handle. I wouldn't have been so kind and calm; I love kids but it was just a bit overwhelming, that's all. Thank you for another wonderful video Jacob, it's always a pleasure and you spoil us with so many uploads!! Hope you're feeling well :)
Part of the joy of a theme park is experiencing it with other people. It's something that carpetbaggers videos show really well. The kids were fine. I I wish you well and hope you have experiences with people you actually enjoy. Art is only art when other people experience it.
If you read his reply above, you'll find he has quite a different feeling about the encounter.
@@Themeparkhero I'm aware, thanks :) I've watched him since he started his channel, I just don't comment often because I'm painfully shy myself. This is another reason I don't comment, because people take offense to anything other than pure adoration and acceptance for everyone's behaviour. Wish you well too, and I don't mean it in a sarcastic or snarky way
i agree. the kids ' behavior was inappropriate. I'm disturbed that so many people think that kinda thing is ok and are actively encouraging the teens to act like that. Not cool. Theme park or not, they have to respect other people's spaces & Jacob looked sincerely unsure of how to respond--it's just not a cool situation. And I'm a 35 year old so def not an old fogey. But I would not want my teen son to do that to someone and I would not praise him if he did. Respect is a 2 way street.
@@loriefutrell8264 Absolutely, it's a shame. Glad you understood where I was coming from 👍
I worked here when it was owned by Six Flags. It's one of those parks that no matter how much it changes, it's still the same. That can be both good and bad. I'm glad to see you take the time to do a video on it. Fun fact: The park's proximity to the Louisville Airport places height restrictions on how tall the rides/coasters can be so for people who are good for anything under 200' this is a park you can fully enjoy.
Oh welcome to the great KK!!
Himalaya's are normally built by Reverchon and Chance, Musik Express rides are usually built by Mack Rides.
I haven't been to Kentucky Kingdom since 1997 so it's been 26 years.
Dollywood/Hershend owns Kentucky Kingdom Now we went there two summers ago Cheap Theme Park decent place to go! I hope Dolly and them clean it up!
Dollywood doesn’t own the park. Hershend owns both separately.
My hometown! Glad you came to visit! ❤
Hey Jacob ! Thanks for touring Ky. Kingdom ! I haven't been there in years. But it still looks fun!
Those kids were dope
😅 The Flying Dutchman being a clog shaped swing is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
It's not a public street that goes thru KY Kingdom. It's a road that goes all the way around the Ky Fair and Exposition Center.
It had been 22 years since I've been to Kentucky Kingdom. I do remember the T3 roller coaster. Not sure why it closed down. I thought it was a pretty cool ride. I also remember riding the huge ferris wheel . That was awesome. Also the Himalayan ride and may favorite was the water ride. A lot has changed since the last time I was there. Thank you for visiting this park and taking us along. ☺️
They closed down T3 (formerly known as T2) because it was getting old and not many people would ride it.
Man I was hoping those kids didn’t act up with you but they were cool and gave you subs! Can’t beat that.
Good job bro! Handled the boys well!!
lovely people lovely place thanks Jacob!🌟
The Himalaya is the permanent ride model, and the Music Express is the travel version of the ride. Same ride, just depends on if they want the travel version or not
Cool to see you checking out a park that has a lot of history here in Louisville. I know I have a few great memories there for sure. Also Rumpke is a local garbage company that must handle the garbage for the park so they get to put their names on the trash cans. Safe travels!
Break Dance was one of my favorite rides! This was my theme park growing up. I loved Twisted Sisters which had a green and pink wooden coaster trying to out run each other. Most of the time one was always closed. My friend and I rode it 14 times in a row once!
In the Netherlands the Breakdance is a staple ride at almost every fair, just like bumper cars.
Mine too, I grew up there too, and Vampire (remember that?) was the first coaster I ever rode!
Nice one....Rumke that you asked is a regional waste collection company.
Enjoyed replay thanks for sharing your channel love it .😊❤😊❤😊
The part when the kid ask you for your name and he replied:
The carpetbagger? what do you bag Carpet's?
Had me rolling 😂😂😂💀
As a Kentucky Kingdom pass holder I have never heard of the music express
I grew up going to Kentucky Kingdom on the weekends every summer. That was our cheap summer entertainment. Before Six Flags bought it you could get a summer pass for $65 and you would get a coupon booklet with it for games and food drinks. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s was the best that park ever was. They had Chang, which was a stand up roller coaster that made you feel like you were flying through the air. They had Batman. Witch went super fast. I think the vampire was the third best but it was one that went forward and backward, and there was a Loop or you went upside down in the middle. I think I remember those names right. Honestly, you could spend the entire day at that park, riding rides and having fun at the waterpark with not one dull moment. The waterpark has gotten better but they took all the good rides out. It’s way more expensive with the less rides and not nearly as fun. But since I have been going there since the late 90s, that’s my opinion to somebody that’s not been there before they may find it fantastically fun.
That scream extreme is called sol spin at kings island. Brand new this year.
That road actually goes in a circle all the way around the fairgrounds.
I saw you there! This was the first time I’d been to KK in years- almost more fun than I remember. Lots of new rides & updates

Hey Jacob. Love the video as always. The Little Rock Zoo here in AR has a really unique carousel if you’re ever in the area. Hope you’re having a great day!
Good Morning Jacob 🙋🏽. I hope you had a good Father's Day ‼️
KY football fan. Smart young man.
One correction, it actually first opened in 1987, not 1977. It was built around the fairgrounds that was already established in the city, so they had to work with the small area they had, thus the reason the park goes over the street. It isn’t actually a public street though, just the street that circles inside the fairgrounds.
The park open originally in 1987. It closed in 2009 and reopened in 2014. In 1977 that was the location of a drive-in.
Some of the Grizzly river rampage ride from Opryland was used here. As well as the Tin Lizzies.
