I just found your site, when looking to learn about the StaandMast route. I want and I am planning to visit colleagues in Alkmaar - well why not all the way from UK with our yacht!!!. This is very helpful. And wow, what a great yacht. We almost never hear of it in the UK, but Linjett gets fantastic reviews. Like golddust, I think. Its good to know that with 2m draft, you can get through even the shallow canals on the route.
Hi there! Linnea is a Linjett 40 😊 She is a 40 foot, Swedish built beauty! If you want to have a closer look, I would recommend watching this video: ruclips.net/video/jmQ2-dP-Aos/видео.html 🤩
No, als long as your boat is under 15 meters (51ft I think) with a top speed slower than 20km/h (12 knots ish?) you're fine. Otherwise you need 'KVB1' (boating license) You do need a VHF license if you wish to use one. That's called a 'marifoon' in dutch. I do recommend getting your boating license sooner than later if you wish to sail here for a long period of time, since it can get quite busy on the waters here.
I would recommend getting a licence for the European inland waterways. It’s debatable weather or not it’s required for the Dutch canals, but it’s still great knowledge if you plan to go the canals and we figured better safe than sorry on that one!
The bridges and their deadlines. Sweet memories from lots of Staande Mast Routes. A journey of heroes!
It really is a special journey to travel through the country like this! Our first time in locks 😅

Glad to hear it! You are in for a fantastic experience if you take your boat there! Good luck on your adventures :)
Just subscribed. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. We plan on going through the canal next year. Currently in Scotland. Cheers.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for the positive feedback :) We really loved the Dutch canals so you have an awesome adventure infront of you :) Fair winds!
Thanks for nice video.
Can you please tell - what is your yacht model and size?

An ICC (international certificate of competence) is accepted in the Netherlands. For VHF you have to comply to the regulations in your home port.
Please, what is the App vou have mentioned?
It's called Waterkaart Live, available both for Android and iOS :)
@@linneasailing super thanks and hope we meet in the water somewhere :)
