Exactly. I mean, even if Wit Studio would ultimately carry on with Season 4, the characters would still look different as adults. Sticking to the manga outlines would be the best bet for Mappa who has to take over with a fresh start.

Toei really has outstanding team of animators but they have deadlines so they have to keep up to the time table also there are handling one of the biggest anime such as one piece and dragon ball

Look at Mappa they have been putting so much work this year and it we can clearly see the reward they got from it. One piece reusing the episode before till the 15 minute mark. My only real complain about season 3 was that they put shirts on Levi and Erwin when in the manga we got to see them abs... At least they showed me those Eren abs in the trailer already

He probably didn’t like it because it was way more modern compared to the others; since they were based on early 2000s openings. The change was drastic but it payed off, I think it helps the offset of the meh(really not that bad, I just didn’t like it)season 2 opening. It’s just a matter of perspective. Also they did have to try and top season 1s iconic opening, which will always be a challenge.

People shouldn't really be bitching about how they look because MAPPA is doing their job at making them similar to the manga designs. The level of loyalty to the original source is crazy.
The designs look pretty close (considering a time skip and all that), but I can definitely see the difference in color. I'm just glad that, from these shots, composition doesn't seem to be taking too big of a hit. The one thing I'm more worried about is the music, tbh. Hiroyuki Sawano's music is extremely recognizable (and good, y'know?), and, while the trailer music sounds kinda hype it doesn't quite reach the same levels of hype as Sawano's tracks.
Don’t worry! That music in the trailer was a project done by Sawano’s friend, but he Sawano will be returning which is a relief! It wouldn’t be complete AoT without his masterpieces.
not everything has to be made by the manga genius, they've been animating it for 3 seasons and basically shaped our perception of how our characters looked like and were really doing a better job with it also, so what's your point?
Sure you have the manga adaptation and design, but do you know what are camera angles? How WIT directed the AoT Franchise not just adapting it. Man, the angles, shots, and animation is way too perfect for WIT and AoT, also the music they use compare now.
The new art style looks way closer to the manga wit studio was good as hell and i thank them for their efforts the last 3 seasons also most of the people complaining are anime only fans
It being more similar to the manga doesn't necessarily mean it is better, I prefer the last 3 seasons by far even though this is pre-animated. Also, I read the manga

This is the same studio working on the god of high school anime, and the jujutsu kaisen anime, safe to say this studio is the future. Terror in resonance had some really nice looking animation, and so did hajime no ippo rising (although that one was co produced by madhouse)

i LOVE the new look for the characters. They’re older now. Hardened by war. They’ve changed, why would they look the same? And I love the way they feel. It feels more realistic, as weird as that sounds, and I think it contributes to the tone we’re going to see through out the final season.
to all y’all complaining how MAPPA butchered the characters, in reality, they did an amazing job. Most anime studios/productions make the anime look different from the manga or cut things out to spare time and energy. MAPPA, from the trailer, is actually making it look like the manga. I pray they put panel to panel in the anime and not cut things out because the manga is so good and deserves to be animated. The new style was introduced in the manga, it wasn’t the studios decision, they just put that new style into the anime. Nonetheless, the new style is still very cool and doesn’t change my judgement of the anime. Truly my favorite anime and always will be.
Those who complained about the characters are most likely anime onlys who never read the manga and had no idea that they were intended to look like that by Isayama himself

I honestly didn't even realise that there was a studio change when i first watched the trailer. I thought it was the same studio going above and beyond for the final season cuz it looks so much better than the other seasons!! Season 4 is gonna be INSANE! Can't wait to see MAPPA's work !!
I actually like how they have a different studio. the first 3 seasons focus/builds up the story inside the walls. this final season opens up with a whole different world and changing the art style adds to the shift of feeling.

It's because you guys are anime onlys who only watched the anime and never read the manga, you're just used to Wit studio's art style and not the general art style. MAPPA is doing a way better job at recreating the Manga's art style than Wit.

Oh boy in all honesty, MAPPA is one of the best studios at animating fight scenes. So yea no need to worry the fight scenes ;) I'm more worried about art style and coloring actually
The things that feels lost to me is that colour choice for the backgrounds and characters. It feels cheap and doesnt pop out. Attack on titan has beautiful background with rich colour paletes that make the characters emotiond pop. Feels like water colour on the new trailer and buildings not that detail.
I totally agree with how the trailer just gave a boost to oneself; looks beautiful! TBH this new studio coincides with the new arc, the time skip where everyone and everything is different for the most part. I think they look just as good as WIT, but we can't say as the episodes haven't been shown. I'm glad Sawano is still in there, even if its a partnership. I'm just all curious how the studio get right into it when they haven't grown/produce the series for years, so hats off to them, their trailer looks promising.

They also did a fantastic job of adapting dororo and banana fish into modern times ( manga from 70s)
The designs look pretty close (considering a time skip and all that), but I can definitely see the difference in color. I'm just glad that, from these shots, composition doesn't seem to be taking too big of a hit.
The one thing I'm more worried about is the music, tbh. Hiroyuki Sawano's music is extremely recognizable (and good, y'know?), and, while the trailer music sounds kinda hype it doesn't quite reach the same levels of hype as Sawano's tracks.

Sure you have the manga adaptation and design, but do you know what are camera angles? How WIT directed the AoT Franchise not just adapting it. Man, the angles, shots, and animation is way too perfect for WIT and AoT, also the music they use compare now.

This is the same studio working on the god of high school anime, and the jujutsu kaisen anime, safe to say this studio is the future. Terror in resonance had some really nice looking animation, and so did hajime no ippo rising (although that one was co produced by madhouse)

i LOVE the new look for the characters. They’re older now. Hardened by war. They’ve changed, why would they look the same? And I love the way they feel. It feels more realistic, as weird as that sounds, and I think it contributes to the tone we’re going to see through out the final season.

to all y’all complaining how MAPPA butchered the characters, in reality, they did an amazing job. Most anime studios/productions make the anime look different from the manga or cut things out to spare time and energy. MAPPA, from the trailer, is actually making it look like the manga. I pray they put panel to panel in the anime and not cut things out because the manga is so good and deserves to be animated. The new style was introduced in the manga, it wasn’t the studios decision, they just put that new style into the anime. Nonetheless, the new style is still very cool and doesn’t change my judgement of the anime. Truly my favorite anime and always will be.
Those who complained about the characters are most likely anime onlys who never read the manga and had no idea that they were intended to look like that by Isayama himself

The things that feels lost to me is that colour choice for the backgrounds and characters. It feels cheap and doesnt pop out. Attack on titan has beautiful background with rich colour paletes that make the characters emotiond pop. Feels like water colour on the new trailer and buildings not that detail.

TBH this new studio coincides with the new arc, the time skip where everyone and everything is different for the most part. I think they look just as good as WIT, but we can't say as the episodes haven't been shown. I'm glad Sawano is still in there, even if its a partnership. I'm just all curious how the studio get right into it when they haven't grown/produce the series for years, so hats off to them, their trailer looks promising.
I would love to wait more just to experience Wits Animation .... The CGI looks out of place in some places ;(
