sounds a little bit like the native americans they were kind to the europeans when they first arrived & then in the end they lost everything no one ever came running to their defense except to take what did not rightfully belong to them then they create a word called Indian giver to show they gave it then wanted it back how can a group of people from Europe be so greedy and so evil when they already had a place to call home and yet decided to take away the homes from the weak that is nothing but pure greed and evil do your history it does not lie talk about taking advantage of people take a look at how America was built on the blood of the true natives who were not white but red skin now they do not have a land of their own because of greed unless your of redskin decent you will never know what it is to live like one with no respect talk is as cheap as talk from a politician who cares nothing more than their money in their pockets they could care less about any true American who voted them into office

....well thats....in no way related to any topic here. I mean, we're talking about a murder victim here, but yeah, I see how that would make you think of politicians not caring about native americans....I guess. Maybe if I knew what you huffed before you commented it might make more sense.

The anonymous caller was later identified as Robert Hakala, a family friend. He was at the Rizzo home when he noticed a dog playing with a human jawbone. It had overlapping teeth like Monika's. Realizing that the remains were probably hers, he called the police. He is not believed to be a suspect in the case.
DNA testing on the remains revealed that all bone fragments were Monika's, but there have been no arrests in the case. In 1998, a homicide detective stated that Leonard said that if he could get a ten-year probationary sentence for Monika's murder, he would confess. However, investigators were unable to make such a deal, so he refused to confess. He claimed that he never made such a statement. Surprisingly, even after the DNA results, he continued to claim that Monika was still alive.
Subsequently, in May 1999, Leonard arrested for attacking his girlfriend; he was shot and injured by police after a standoff. After his arrest, his girlfriend told the police that he threatened to "kill her, chop her up, put her in a garbage bag, and bury her."
Leonard was was convicted on four criminal counts, including assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and drug possession. Authorities believe that he was responsible for Monika's death but they still do not have enough evidence to file charges.

Thing about Unsolved Mysteries is that they always try to cram 4-6 stories into one episode.
Like, the story about the mother and 2 girls who were drowned alive in Florida. There is such an interesting and intriguing story to that case, this show definitely did not do it justice. No pun intended.

When famous river-runner, Georgie White Clark passed away in 1992, many believed she was actually Bessie, especially since property of theirs was found in her possessions. However, it has been noted that the two women didn't even resemble each other and it's more likely the items were souvenirs. Furthermore, Clark's early life was well-documented. To date, the disappearance of the Hydes remains a mystery, although most assume that they died accidentally.

Regarding the first case, recent research suggest that a large percentage of homeless people suffer from traumatic brain injury. While this excuses nothing, if Adam was indeed murdered, it does explain quite a bit about "Tony," including his strange behavior, his injuries, and why he unsettled people. It would, of course, also explain why he did this . . . IF indeed he did it.

I think the fact Tony wasn’t letting Adam’s brother in his apartment to see him clearly means he killed him and didn’t want his brother to find out. Tony was desperate to keep the evidence hidden.
But is there any new updates on either if Adam is confirmed dead or living out on the streets with the homeless cult nuts or if Tony was arrested? Anybody know?
There’s some things to this story that doesn’t add up here at all.

Anyone got age enhanced photos of Sal, who is still on the run, or Adam, who is still missing? Glen and Bessie mostly likely drowned after the river's swift currents knocked them out of their raft and carried them far, far away, making it almost impossible to find their bones. I did not know there was a statute of limitations for art theft. Does that mean those responsible for the 1990 Isabella Gardner Museum theft cannot be prosecuted either even if located?

It's really disgusting to see Adam's racist family talk about Tony. I honestly don't believe that Tony ever follows Adam's mother and said "give me a kiss". It just sounds so stupid and made up.
And his brother, oh my god. Such a bad actor, sounding so terribly overdramatic.
The family just has to put a label on Tony immediately saying that he killed Adam. Pathetic. Of course, an entitled family like that just can't accept what the cops have to say, but they decide for themselves.

Oh, please. Maybe Adam Hecht felt trapped in all that superficial, judgmental garbage. I know I would be.
His mother, brother and sister are all so stuck up -- do they even hear how they sound? But even the very producers of the show, with the same prejudices, have slanted the whole story to make Tony sound suspicious and TRY to make the Hecht's sound good. But, they aren't.
Being poor isn't a disease that you might catch. There's nothing wrong with people who are homeless. And it's not the worst thing in the world. I feel sorry for the Hecht's and anyone who thinks like they do. I'm sure Adam is much happier without them.

That's ridiculous. I've been homeless and while I'm sympathetic towards them, I wouldn't want my child moving a total stranger into his house. I don't care if it's a homeless person, the president of Persia or King Kong, that's not a good idea. It's not terrible for the Hechts to work hard and be successful. I worked hard to get myself out of poverty but I understand that some people can't. As for the "better off without them", that's his family and they are obviously devastated. I would be terrified and furious if someone encouraged my child to burn himself, I don't care who it is. Tony sounds mentally ill and it's a proven fact that many homeless people are. Yes, that included me before I get shit for that. They were concerned and apparently they should have been! I don't believe that he disappeared. He was murdered.

I was homeless and I still kept clean. It's possible. I'm sympathetic towards the homeless population because I was there once, that doesn't mean that Adam's family had no right to be concerned. Looks like they had a good reason to be.

You've obviously never had to work a day in your life!!! Just because you lose a job that you've had a for years because they want someone new and you aren't able to do anything else doesn't make you a bad person. Or maybe someone gets hurt and can't get disability (it's a lot harder to get disability than most people think). That doesn't make you a bad person. Granted there are bad people out there (like Tony) but there are bad people who aren't homeless too. Stop judging people on whether or not that have money and/or a place to live.
