- My acura mdx got a check engine light, after running diagnostic it gave me a p0424 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, rather than fork out 1,000$ for a new catalytic converter I gave this cataclean a shot since it was a little over 20$ and here are my results

This worked for my 2013 ford explorer (base) as well. My ODB indicated Cat bank 2 and was confirmed by dealership service, quoted me $3500 with O2 sensors. A friend told me about this, got it in autozone for $26.
Waited at least last quarter of the fuel gauge then poured it in, after using the car, few hours later check engine was gone. SUV running very smoothly without any issues.
Glad it worked, all I'm saying is it's worth the try, spend the 26$ first vs the thousands for a new cat, if it works great if not, it's not the end of the world
Having the same issue with my 2007 mdx. Going to give this a try too.
So far so good no check engine light or change in fuel economy
So you fill up your gas tank then add this catclean, run it till empty; repeat once again?
FYI did you confirm that it was the Catalyst converter... by checking output and input temp... most times it usually turns out to be the o2 sensors that miss read and says that its a bad cat from my experience... so I would rec checking the temp change and see if that is with in spec's.. also check your spark plugs for too rich or lean wear... Ericthecarguy did a good video on how to check cat with temp probe... best to manual read the temp and check it the obd2 scanner computer to see if your getting same data... just something to check... I would do a tuneup before you replace a cat and replace fuel filter too
Temp was lower on the secondary and efficiency was not within spec, meaning the catalyst within was no longer being efficient, the secondary o2 was replaced in the same bank about 2 months ago prior to this video along with a full tune up and evap canister and purge valve
Did you notice if your exhaust runs cleaner.
I would like to try it , my Kia is running too rich and I was told my cats might be bad or
clogged .
Sorry can't help you there, I've never had any issues with fumes, also my mdx is the ultra low emissions vehicle "ULEV" model
You just passed inspection with a cracked windshield ?
@andreaphillian3947 yup, in California they only check emissions, they don't care if the car is safe to be on road or not just as long as it's not a Polluter

@804MRMAN it's going to get worked on the channel as soon as the mustang motor is back in, all my cars move under their own power with the exception of the mustang wich is why it been the focus but, the gs300 is next as well as the wide body is300
@@Ricardo_Wade I mean no disrespect, but I'm only here for the GS300 🤣🤣🤣 The 2nd Gen GS is my favorite car based on the style that looks modern 25 years later, specifically the 300 because of the almighty 2JZ block.
@804MRMAN I appreciate that bud, honestly the focus was going to be that car but as I mentioned all my cars have to be running that way I can shuffle them around easily to get work done, as I mentioned the mustang project is coming to a end very soon and moving along to the gs300 project followed by the is300 and maybe my SC300 as well
