I got the check engine light with Po420 code but every time I drive 45min-1 hour on the highway the check engine light goes away for a day or two then come back on?
I know this is ls old, but the reason for that is most likely because the catalytic converter is getting clogged up with carbon. When you accelerate to get to highway speeds, it heats up the converter and creates more airflow to help remove deposits off of the honey the catalyst material. This returns the emissions back to within the threshold and clears the code. When you go back to city driving, it gets built back up and throws the code again. As someone else mentioned, have your PCV valve replaced and run some of this Cataclean as directed.

It’s sputtering to when I gas it
I got the same code. Planning to use the Catclean and follow what you’ve mentioned. Let’s see what happens!
Also, is that an aftermarket Android Carplay stereo that you’ve installed? If yes, can you recommend what stereo it is?
Check out my channel I made a video on it. I got it from Best Buy for around 300ish. Love it.
@@mkecarconnection3808 I checked the videos uploaded on your channel. Did not come across any vides related to that Radio from Best Buy unless I’m looking at the wrong place.
Hellooo!
One subscribe one like watching and support from Al Khafji Saudi Arabia 👍
Thank you habibi
I got that code I can’t go over 30 in mines no trans code but only cat code
You seem to be in limp mode. Might be too far gone for this treatment :(
Did you try it?
@@mkecarconnection3808I was in limo mode awhile back it never came back on after clearing code but that was my output speed sensor code that popped up
Cataclean doesn’t work I tried it on my car and it didn’t do shit.
If your catalytic converter has a hole or crack in it it won't work for sure but otherwise it might.
Didn’t work, used 2 bottles
So do you have and idea what does it clean
It's supposed to help burn off some of the carbon in the catalytic convertor
Cataclean isn't worth the money PERIODT and I need my money back now
If it didn’t work, your car is pass the point of it working
R U sUr Ur hyper style isn’t affecting your perception of specific directions for adding this stuff?🤔, like ‘drIvr like a psycho’ or watever you said?.. NEhU, the reason code reader didn’t change as quickly as your car is because it said ‘permanant’ as a code type, & if you don’t reset ECM or have a snazzy code reader that can reset codes, it takes like 50(in this case) or 100 miles to reset code on that. but NEwA, in addition to cleaning out all kinds of stuff in your engine, fuel system, etc., IF p420 comes back, it means that you probably DONT nEd a new cat., probley something before cat cause carbon build up, so IF that’s the case, the gizmo(as a diagnostic) STILL saved you like a grand$, or watever👋.
Tried it, didn't work. Light went off for about 30 miles. I'm buying 02 sensors and cat.
Ah then you’re too far gone to clean out the cat I’m sorry
Years ago I had a cat problem and beat the guts out of it, never had another problem, might do the same. I have a ford flex with two cats.
Two options for me, two new cats or beat the guts out of them. Mine has two on a ford flex. I'll try that a get ridd of the problem all together. With a cat your car needs to be running perfect because the cats can't tale a rich running car or vice versa. My cats are 300 a piece. I will get a drain snake and shred it out. The problem is you could by a new cat and have problems with your car and screw up a new cat.
@@davidbillings3105 mine has two also. It’s showing it’s the car that is connected to the exhaust manifold. Dealer wanted 1200. Side shop wanted 900. Not worth it to me. Might do it myself when I get the chance
@@davidbillings3105 My check engine light has been on i was told i need a new cat converter havent dont it yet. But today i was on the highway and put the gas pedal down (not all the way of coarse) opened it up just to clean the shit out of it sort a speak. I wasent 30 sec into the pedal to the metal and my check engine was no long solid but blinking scarred the crap out of me so i slowed back down to 55 mph and it stopped blinking after about a minute and went back to solid. I read when it blinks its serious. I wont do that again
