It is so satisfying to purge what we don't wear and enjoy. Donating is a gift knowing others will cherish those things!!! I also find joy maintaining my wardrobe, a little extra effort in their care keeps things looking nice longer. Thank you for sharing your practices here Lisa!!!
Your dresses are lovely and enchanting. I too am a child of the 70's. I call myself an "age of Aquarius baby" born in San Francisco in 1965. I also have wonderful memories of my mother. Her valuable advice is still applicable today. Thank you
Thank you Clarissa 🩷. No doubt 1965 was the dawning 😉 of someone special! I’m so truly sorry for you loss. I’m beginning to think it’s one we learn to live with, bc the longer she’s gone the more I miss her. But how blessed we are to have moms who gave valuable advice that is applicable today - maybe more than ever! God Bless you 🩷
I tend to hang onto my clothes a little too long, hoping that i'd be able to wear them some day. So, seeing you purge some of those beautiful clothing has given me the inspiration to move on!!! Thank you!
I hear you and love that you're inspired! If we haven't worn it for a full two years, there's a reason, and the truth is we'll never miss it. Better to make room for a few things we love, so we can feel our amazing best today! ! Maybe I'll do a home refresh with purging as the key topic, because it's central to being organized. I would start by saying that things elicit feelings and so it's beneficial to dig deep and ask ourselves what feelings come up with the things we hang onto. It can be very informative in helping us understand our heart. Learning to let go is a different way of being super-responsible. xo
Thank you for sharing Lisa, you are a beautiful woman inside and out. I love how you bring back the femininity of those beautiful dresses you wear them well…. I love all your videos. I watch them over and over because I can’t find anything to watch you make me happy and you inspire me. I love the peacefulness that is seeing you. … Please keep your videos, because you are number one out of all of them that I watch right now I am so happy that I found you. You are truly someone I admire.🥰
Lisa, such a lovely video today! As well, I have wonderful memories of my grandmothers, each with their unique personal style.🩷 My paternal grandmother was only 5 feet tall so always wore open toed sling back heels on her tiny size 5 1/2 feet. Every color you could imagine, matched to her dress choice of the day and never saw her wear pants. She was also an accomplished knitter and often made exquisite dresses with matching coats lined in the finest satin.🩷 My maternal grandmother loved her gloves and hats. She had a small collection of jewelry and as her only granddaughter, she passed it on to me. She was born in 1896, thus lived through some of what I think are the best fashion decades. Thank you for sharing your closet and tips. I’m going to do some online dress shopping today! 🤗👗🩷
What a joy to hear about both of your grandmothers! They sound darling! In a world that promotes being "self-made" it's a blessing to realize much of who we are is from those who have led the way. Happy shopping! xo
Lisa, You know I've been waiting for this video, and it was beautiful! I've always dressed very feminine with mostly all dresses so your style speaks to me. We are, I believe old souls. Books, cozy surroundings, delicious food and lovely dresses make life beautiful and comforting to me. It's all part of making a home environment we can enjoy! Thank you for being such an inspiration!
Thank you DeAnna, I’m grateful for you, your inspiration and encouragement, and agree we are old souls. 🩷. There’s so much to break down as to what that actually means 😆! To begin, we would most likely say it’s something like having an appreciation of the past and leveraging that wisdom into creating our best possible present 🎁 with great imagination and the seeking of inspiration. It truly is the lens we choose to see through 🥰👋🤩🌷. We create our own reality bc that’s all we can control. Have a blessed day!
Oh Lisa, This video was such a work of art! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had just finished reading an article in the Epoch Times, by Jeffrey A.Tucker: “What’s the point of dressing up?”. Then I checked your channel and found you, in all your loveliness, echoing and greatly expounding his sentiments. I loved hearing of your precious grandmother and seeing your beautiful wardrobe! 💐 Bravo, dear Lisa!
Oh thank you 😊 🙏🏻 so much dear Susan! I’ll definitely look for that article. It’s wonderful to create (and dress) in ways that are an expression of our inmost being! The being that was formed perfectly in the image of God - in all his splendor. That is You. I love you dear friend. 😍🩷🥰
Ohhh you remind me of my Godmother Aunt Lucille. She & Uncle Paul just preserved and took care of many things. I could definitely shop from your closet! Our tastes are soooo similar. I wear dresses all the time. In winter I simply wear heavier materials and solid color leggings under my dresses & skirts. The Baptismal gown almost made cry. The green dress is stunning. Thank you for posting dear lady! 🙋☕🙏
I love dresses too! In 1978 I wore dresses on dates with my now husband of 44 years when none of my friends did . Now as a teacher in her 60s, I still wear dresses to work often even though most of my coteachers rarely do. It’s so important to be yourself in fashion. I dress up because it makes me feel good and confident. Bravo for addressing this topic.
Well Lisa, I almost did not click on this video today. I am not tall and thin and built for all these gorgeous feminine dresses. Oh, if wishes could come true! I would wake up tomorrow 7 inches taller with a closet full of these gorgeous , dreamy dresses. But I did love hearing about your grandmother, and seeing that beautiful christening gown . What an absolute treasure!!!! And your special insights and words of wisdom always speak to me. Have an incredibly happy day!
I understand Liane, and am so glad you decided to watch anyway. 🩷 I was hoping to impart my biggest message, which is that we all need to become kinder, truer and more compassionate with ourselves - because none of us can live up to all the unrealistic messages surrounding us daily. Tommy and I spent the day at Disneyland recently and it was heartwarming to see women of all ages, sizes and colors feeling beautiful (and sexy!) in their own God-given skin! I loved it because women are BEAUTIFUL 🤩 !! 🩷
I’ve just found your channel and I so love it! I’m going to have to bing watch all to catch up! Lol love your clothes and your style. What a keepsake the christening gown is! ❤
Lisa, thank you for giving us a glimpse into your beautifully curated closet. While capsule wardrobes may work for some (not me!), it is refreshing to see your collection of many items that reflect your authentic style. I’m very inspired! Would you share your artwork that you have created?
Hi Lisa. Such a lovely channel. A nice place for a ladies to hang out. Your dress collection is a girl's dream. So beautiful and feminime. Your hair is also gorgeous. You would look nice wearing a top knot or a French chignon. I just subscribed. Many blessings. 😊
Thank you so much - you’re so sweet and I’m delighted to have you hanging out with me! I WISH I knew how to do my hair in a million ways - I finally gave up years ago 😝. My dream is to have a talented local stylist create fun “do’s” with my hair. Thanks for the idea!
Your channel popped up on my feed today, I'm so glad it did. I literally paused the video at 10:55 because I fell in love with the dress but especially the sweater you put on and would love to know if you'd kindly share where it's from.
Hi Trish, I didn’t sew them. Etsy for all the linen, but also Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s where I minimize the search by putting in detailed specifications like fabric, length and neckline. I have many brands - but mostly I decide based on natural fabric first. Hope this helps 🩷
I 🩷 Thierry Mugler’s Angel Eau De Parfum in the star 🌟 - not to be confused with the Angel cologne that is entirely different. (Made that mistake once and it was awful 😝.)
