Lisa! This video brought tears to my eyes! We share so many similar life stories! I summered with my grandparents who lived on a lake in MT. They sound so very similar to your grandparents. My grandfather also built his dock and boat house. They also had fruit trees and my grandmother canned or preserved all the fruit. Nothing went to waste. She was the daughter of a Methodist pastor and could put together a meal for 12 given no notice. Hospitality was her love language - many reasons why I resonate so much with today’s video. It brought me right back to a simpler time with great joy!

I practice to keep myself occupied daily. I get up early and get myself pretty and ready for a new day. I come to church every morning. I enjoy organizing and decorating and taking care my family . I practice to humble myself and to have Faith and Trust in God simply and gently. God sees and knows ALL. When we call Him, He will answer 🙏🙏🙏

Beautiful video Lisa. My life growing up was not so peaceful and seren as yours. Lots of uncertainty and chos. My peace had always come from knowing Jesus Christ from a very young age. I try to pass those gifts to my children and grandchildren. The things i enjoy in being out in nature is interacting with the wild life. We live close to Yosemite so we get to see nature come alive everyday with the sonds of the rivers and sounds of he wild turkeys and the sounds of the winds blowing threw the tall pine trees. 😊❤ Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories.
Thank you for sharing Nancy, I’m truly sorry about your childhood knowing it must have been painful, complicated and sad. Truly amazing how Jesus came to you early and how much he loves you! I do understand - as a personal coach I’ve heard many similar experiences as well as ministered to lots of hurting souls. We fellow travelers are also fellow sufferers. As mentioned we don’t get to choose our parents but we do get to choose following and trusting God. Full disclosure here, I will share with you that moving from school to school was very hard for me and my peace came from knowing Jesus Christ from a young age as well. He was/is my hiding place and the conversation is endless !! The lover of my soul. I love Yosemite - how blessed you are to be so close to all that luscious nature! Believe it or not, we also spent 2 weeks every June in Yosemite - in housekeeping.

Ah, to start each day in nature; such a blessing. I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors and starting my day with a cup of tea on one of my porches or in the back gardens. Last year I started a veggie garden so now that is my first stop each morning even before tea time. I’ve always felt that there’re are two primary things we humans crave:
1 - human touch such as a hug, kiss, handshake
2 - someone or something to nurture such as a person, pet or garden.

Lisa, this video spoke to my heart. I adored my two sets of grandparents and was lucky enough to get to know them until my early twenties to late twenties. They were similar to yours in that they were nonjudgmental and totally immersed in living in the present moment. I loved visiting them and understood what unconditional love meant. Sounds like your grandparents were full of wisdom and you were a sponge absorbing the knowledge. A little peak into your daily routine was nice to see. What an excellent video. Everything you said I would immediately see my gma/gpa face as they were much like that. Grandparents are everything to me and now that I am one, I try to pass on those good traits to my granddaughters. That is the best in life lessons.

Living an ageless life... what a wonderful concept. I have often thought .... how would I feel about my physical self and body , if there were no mirrors. Both of my grandfathers were gone before I was born. But the way you speak of your grandfather , is how I feel about my Dad. He passed 3 weeks before his 95 birthday. He was the most generous, funny , kind, constant in my entire life. He woke up and went to bed everyday in a positive mood. He always had a funny story or joke. His greatest pleasure was fishing. He has been my role model of being grateful and hopeful and a light in the world, whenever I have the choice.
Wow, what a wonderful Father! No doubt he is living through you! I agree with the mirror thing - the truth is we give meaning to things based on what we’ve been told. There is no meaning other than that which we choose. And there’s only one truth: Wonderfully and fearfully made. 🌺🩷
Absolutely my husband and I both say how much we learned from all our grandparents. So thankful for them. They have all passed now. When I pray ask God to tell them that I love them.

Hi Lisa, if there's anything I can take from this video is the concept that what I believe is "reality " and to avoid going into "catastrophic" thinking because the future is definitely not under my watch. Easier said than done! (in my case) So, thank you for putting things into my human perspective. My grandmother was also a big influence on me. She lived through hard times in her early years, but that made her stronger and resilient and she taught that to us, her grandchildren. Thank you so much!
Hi Gloria! For sure when the world is as upside down as it is, it’s easy to slide into catastrophic thinking. It comes down to having a habit of warding off potential danger by trying to predict the future. Our imaginations hold far too many images (sadly) that we can cast onto the future - which is only an illusion (or delusion!) but we react as if it were so. The other problem is it doesn’t work bc it’s impossible to consider all the variables including Gods handiwork and miracles. Better to stay in the now. Something I work hard at 😉 as a daily surrender. I loved your sharing thank you!
Your Grandparents sound SO SPECIAL!! You truly were Blessed to have that kind of Relationship with them! ❤. My Grandparents were very Distant. Only 1 of my Grandpa's had impacted my Life! He was my BEST FRIEND! He had trouble walking, but every Saturday, he would come over just to watch Us Kids play. I would sit beside him and talk to him about my Life. Things that went on in School and he always held my hand. He made me feel special! When he passed away, my World was shattered😢😢!!! He meant the World to me! ❤❤❤❤❤❤. He made me feel like His Little Princess, Safe in his presence! ❤
