I think we're slowly losing the beautiful basics that give us our warmest memories, and bring people together. Families need to nurture and feed their souls with love, attention, and time. A little attention to detail and a nice meal only add to the experience. And your passing it on to the next generation that this is a lovely, and necessary part of goodness in our lives.
Mrs. Lisa so glad to have you on. You truly are bringing back the art of hospitality and elegance. Society has lost this as well as class. I truly settle down and just unwind when you post. Thank you for much needed inspiration. 🌹🙏
Thank you so much ☺️ for your kindhearted words. It’s my intention (and hope) to provide a little break for viewers to unwind, and infuse a bit of peace, love and humanity into the day. 🩷🙏🏻
Hi Lisa! New subscriber here! I’m Lauren from San Antonio, TX. You’re home is absolutely gorgeous, and you’re just lovely!! It’s so uplifting finding channels that celebrate the art of home. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, and I look forward to your future content! 💕 🏡
Love amber lighting! My grown son always comes over and says ... why is your house always so dark! I say its cozy and warm.. haha Different strokes....Your little movable tables were gorgeous. The one with the birds took my breath away! Is it an antique? I am also all about ottomans. I love them in leather, tapestry, cane. wicker. They add such charm to a space, besides being functional. when you said you went and saw Le Miz... I was taken back also ... to a time when all my girlfriends and I would take Bart to San Francisco , across the bay, and go to the theatre. Oh what fun The Phantom, Le Miz, Lion KIng, Wicked, and so many others. We would get dinner and do a little window shopping. They are all retired and moved now. But I will have those memories of quality time spent with great friends forever. Make memories today! Living alone , I love having comfort food in the freezer in individual portions. Especially in the fall and winter. I even freeze biscuits so I can take out only one or two for myself. And yes, treating ourselves as special with a candle, a flower , a nice crystal goblet, especially when alone , is such a beautiful self care ritual. Guess who is having my ice tea in a fancy glass tonight! Lisa, every video of yours just inspires me to no end. And your homes view when you mentioned tip #6 is my dream home! Have a happy day!
Liane, I LOVE hearing sweet details of your life and getting to know you. It means everything to know who I’m talking to! There is no doubt the wealth of wisdom and beauty in my subscribers and you continue to bless and fuel me to continue on. Thank you 🙏🏻!
Oh! I just remembered your question about the pheasant table! We found it at Frontgate! I believe it’s still there, bc we’ve debated on getting another. It’s heavy though, heavier than our others. 🩷
Hi Lisa - I found your channel this morning and had to subscribe straight away! What a breath of fresh air you are. I just love your hospitality tips handed down from your grandparents - thank you for sharing & for such a beautiful video. 🥰🌺 xx
Thank you Lisa for another inspiring video! Your home is warm and inviting with your plants, tips and decor! Please share your recipes on your Fall favorite freezable meals on this vlog. They look delicious! I am also grateful for my grandparents. They were such a big part of my life too!
A lovely and relaxing video. You have a beautiful home. I have 7 grands. I always greet them at the door when they arrive. I walk them out when they leave (southern tradition) I also try to give them my full attention.
Thank you. 😊 Gracious Southern hospitality being passed on to your grands is precious. And how blessed you all are to have each other. Thanks so much for sharing !! 🩷
Lisa, such a great video, always soothing and comforting to watch. Would love to see you prepare some of those freezer meals. Such a great idea! Also, very good tips on the plants.
🇨🇦🇨🇦Toronto…….Fabulous fabulous!!! Love ❤️ your home !! It’s so inviting Love your antiques- in these times of modern minimalist It’s nice to See Respect ✊ For more Traditional pieces And your vignettes 🥂🇨🇦🥂
Lisa, this was a really pretty video! I was really taken back by the Christmas Cactus. I had no idea we could grow them so well here. I just sent my best friend a Thanksgiving cactus starter to add to her Christmas Cactus collection in Orlando. Other thing about self nurturing; 32 years in the lunch break room at work with metal kitchenettes, microwaves and noisy fans, loud tv. I still kept my own place setting and cups along with my own silverware and cloth napkins, linen placemat to set up nicely just for myself. I couldn’t stand eating out of styrofoam with plastic forks another year. I was a long distance commuter. 110 miles a day and had zero time at home to enjoy, so I did what I could to give myself a little bit of home life with a sit down meal. Happily retired now. I know Pasadena really well Lisa. Lived in North Alhambra for 22 yrs. You had to love going to your grandparents house. Anyway, great video. Tommy must be so proud of you.
Wow, I’m truly inspired by your fortitude driving 110 miles a day for so many years. Did you enjoy what you were doing? I love hearing about your lunch room commitment to take care of yourself right where you were. Good for you. Impressive! In all of our moving, my mom believed in and encouraged us to “bloom where you’re planted”. Thank you for sharing your story.🩷You’re quite a Bloomer 🌺 😝!!
Hi Lisa. I enjoyed what I was doing until the last couple of years. My goal was to retire and become a Homemaker, and live fully. I was in public service in the Court system and really loved serving the needs of the people (our public) who paid for and built as well as sustained our justice system , which is everyone.
I’m getting the vision of “loyalty” in your messages - such a beautiful trait Nancy. Thank you for sharing. It means so much for me to continue to learn about and know my subscribers 🤩. Otherwise I’m just talking into space ha! And I don’t know other YTers but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have more amazing subscribers! And yes, btw, Tommy is my biggest supporter for the channel and has been the kindest friend and partner through my grief. I really struck gold with him. Have an awesome day! 🌻
Hi Lisa, just discovered you a few moments ago and bingo, I feel immediately at home…your soft voice and relaxed presentation puts me in a really good space. So, now you have another subscriber and friend…an 82 yr old Californian who well remembers her grandparents and times well spent with them! Ps…some of those cooking recipes please!
New subscriber! Thank you for your lovely video. In a very fast paced life, we have forgotten to slow down! We need to stop and smell the coffee! The best things in life are the best. It’s nice to be listened to, to take the time to listen to others because in the blink of an eye our children and grandchildren are grown up and our dear ones have passed away! Life is too short! Going to chill out and binge on your videos. God bless!
(Don’t know how I got so lucky, but our channel is attracting the most amazing people. It’s a God thing!) To my point - your comment speaks such beauty and truth about life. Thank you 🙏🏻 😍🤩🩷😇
Hi Lisa, I'm not sure how many times I've watched this video about hospitality. I love everything you've shared that you learned from your precious grandparents. I learned so much from my grandparents as well and appreciate it so much. Your home is so gorgeous! Thanks so much
Dear. Lady this is the first time I come across your videos; I sure enjoyed them especially the tea one. Thank you for sharing how to prepare tea gathering.
First time coming across your channel...your home is beautiful and definitely an elegant style that I enjoy. As a fellow gal who appreciates plants, I think they bring the outside in, and with that, stress reduction and beauty of God's creation....so I totally consider that a hospitality tip. Love the idea about putting them in other vessels!!! Have a blessed day.
You are a doll Miss truejoie and I love your perspective. There’s so much “joie” in fresh plants and beautiful fragrant flowers 🌺 🌸 that bless others - (which is my personal definition of hospitality, exercised in endless ways). Thank you for blessing me with your most gracious joie de virvre. Truly Heartfelt. 🌷😍🩷
Nice tips! It reminded me of when I was single and dining at home alone--I had a large decorative wall mirror opposite the chair where I sat to eat--my reflection was my dinner companion! Love that you use the "fine china" when one or two people are gathered, not stowed away for that "someday" large dinner party.
I just found your channel. It is lovely to watch all the meaningful touches you add to your home. Thank you for sharing. I love the houseplants, I don’t know that abt the cactuses. I look forward to your next video.
Lisa, I just found your channel. Your house is beautiful, and I loved this segment on hospitality. I am waiting for family to visit us this week and I so agree with you that we have to make them feel as comfortable and welcome as possible. I loved the idea of the small movable table next to a chair. I have one and I'll put it to use! Like the people below, I'd love to have the recipes for those fall dishes! So glad I found you!
Hi Gloria, I’m so happy you found us! A Fall cooking segment + freezer tips is on the way. Enjoy your guests. I’d love to hear how it goes. Thank you for reaching out 🩷.
I think putting out pictures of the people visiting us is also a great idea. You are so blessed for having grandparents that were caring of hospitality done in beauty.
That is a wonderful idea Ana! Very considerate. I’m beyond grateful, knowing full well we don’t get to choose our parents and forbearers. The beautiful blessing now is we get to be the influence!!! 🌻🤩🙏🏻💥
I like you and sharing simple presentations. My single parent life use to be buying too much out of loneliness and boredom. As a senior now I want less , simple and comfortable. Thank you for sharing
Hi Caroline, thank you 🩷. I just posted the light bulb link under “more..” in the description box. The bulbs we have are from Home Depot and are 40 watt versus 60 watt. Hope that helps. 😊
Hello Lisa, I just found you this morning and I am so glad I did. I love your home and all the things you talk about. You’re interesting, informative, and inspiring. I love my garden and making my home a wonderful place for my husband and myself. We share a lot of the same ideas and tastes. Oh and I love your dresses…. I have been watching all your videos and have subscribed so I won’t miss a thing. Thank you for all your tips and recipes.
Hi Mary, I’m so glad too! Your comment warms my heart. Connecting with you and so many amazing women here is such joy for me.. and fuel to keep going. Thank you 🙏🏻 ! Have a blessed day 🩷
Hospitality seems to be a lost art and tradition and it breaks my heart. I will never forget once when my daughters significant other said he enjoys coming to my home because I entertain the way his Mom and grandmother used to entertain. That may have been one of the best compliments ever received. It would be lovely to receive an invitation to your home and what a pleasure to entertain someone like you who is so appreciative. I’ll bring the wine wink.
This warms my heart and never, in my wildest dreams, would I have imagined connecting with such beautiful kindred spirits. Thank you for sharing your heart 🩷 what a delight! Xo
Lisa, you are just so lovely and a real lady. Such great tips! Your home is pure elegance and at the same time welcoming and cozy. I love all the various vignettes with fall pumpkins etc. Many blessings beautiful lady.
hi Lisa I’m new here…This video rings such truth in so many ways. What caught my attention was the small table setting you used for yourself when you indicated that sitting at the dining room table was just a bit to much when you were alone. Many of us live alone and it can be a challenge.
Yes! Indeed a significant challenge. It’s when I discovered my thoughts - which was step one - and then step two was learning to be much kinder to myself. 🩷
Would you please make a video regarding how to hang pictures on the wall? At 7:29 I notice a grouping of three- it looks so elegant! I am interested to learn how you plan these groupings- size, hanging at what level, etc. That would be super helpful! So lovely thank you for sharing!
Hello Lisa, I just found your channel and been binge watching all your videos 😊 You are so inspiring and I feel we are so similar, from books to decor. I enjoy watching you so much. I have a small request, I would love to see your pictures from when you were younger and hearing your stories from the seventies ❤
So heartwarming, thank you and welcome to the family! My camera woman editor daughter (29) screen shot your comment in an iMessage to me, “I LOVE this idea”!! I do too, and will start sharing more stories from the past. Thanks for the inspiration! 🩷🤩💥
I just found your channel. Your style is MY style. It’s hard to find a channel with my decor. Thank you for the lovely tips. I’m not a houseplant person, mostly because I kill them. However, you’ve given me great tips, and a plant I might be able to keep. ❤
I’m so glad too! (My Moms name was Jo (Joanne) btw. - my top favorite name.) I totally get the killing-of-plants-thing and finally figured it out. Might do another video that goes into more detail on how easy it is with the right know-how and supplies. Thanks for sharing! 🩷
I enjoyed your video. I was hoping for a video on how to welcome someone as they arrive into the front door and how to handle when you still need to be in the kitchen doing the last minute details and still visit and the toughest for me is calling people to the table and buffet. I know that sounds crazy, but my family never had guests over and I am an introvert and so uncomfortable with the whole hosting bit. 🤪
Hi Deborah, you make such a good point here! You’re suggesting tips on how to manage guests, greeting and ushering them from one place to the next - which I agree is not always easy to do! That might be a full video - one that never crossed my mind, so thank you so much! 😍
You seem like a lovely person and I would enjoy being the recipient of your hospitality! I know it can be hard to choose a title on RUclips, but my one complaint is that the first half of the video wasn’t really about hospitality. It was about plants and flowers. I found myself getting a little impatient until we finally got to the hospitality portion, especially as this is a little slow-moving. I hope this comes across as I mean it, as constructive feedback.
I very much appreciate constructive criticism, so thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. One other person stated a similar opinion, so I will download it as I move forward. And I do understand your point of view! A big part of my childhood experiences - with both sets of grandparents - had to do with their home environments and fragrances that are etched in my memory bank. Being in California they had spectacular gardens, house plants and fresh flowers that filled their homes with nature and amazing smells! So, while some may not understand or agree, it’s my way of honoring my past and the elegance of enjoying fresh well-tended plants and flowers, which in some ways, is a lost art of hospitality. 🌷
PS. A subscriber gave me a great idea as an addendum to my hospitality-grandparents video, which will be next on the docket as we’re heading into the holidays with a focus on hosting. It may resonate more for you and others as well. 🩷
Hi Lisa! I also just found your channel and have watched all of your videos; some more than once! 😂 What wonderful content for homemaking! How often do you post? Can’t wait til you post again!
Gladly, it’s from Ina Garten’s cookbook, “Barefoot Contessa Family Style” Chicken Stew with Biscuits. It’s a perfect recipe. (This time I made it with 12 skinless chicken thighs and it was divine, but the breast is great too.) 😋
I just discovered your channel and really enjoyed this video. I too love to entertain and love the cozy elegance that you and your home exude. When you mentioned ‘amber’ lighting, is that a special type of bulb that you use or just that it is ambient lighting? Thanks!
I'm so thrilled to have discovered your awesome channel. I love the art of hospitality and unfortunately a lot of people don't even comprehend what the word hospitality means. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful home along with your various tips about plants to tablescapes. Have a fantastic day. Take care 🦋
Hello. I'm a new subscriber. Your Christmas cactus are lovely. I bought one almost 2 years ago and was close to giving up on it. Can you tell me what light setting you have yours in and also what plant food do you give them, how often, etc. I love to entertain. I have learned that our guests are so appreciative when they feel welcome and comfortable as your tips expand on. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hi and welcome Barb! Great question. Yes, the Christmas cactus are healthiest with lots of indirect light - so any place near a window without direct sun. If they get too much direct sun the “leaves” turn red and they don’t bloom well, and will eventually fall apart and wither. Best to not keep the soil wet all the time, so let some of the moisture dissipate before watering again. When you do water, maybe every 4 -5 weeks, water from the top and bottom by soaking in a bowl under a faucet until all the soil is drenched and heavy, (like I showed in the video) then drain before putting it in another container. Our climate in So Cal is moderate, so I’m guessing they like anywhere between consistent 60-85 degrees - kind of like us (!) - now that I think about it. I’ll post a link to the fertilizer in the description box in case anyone else wants to know. You sound like a wonderful host! Thank you for reaching out - I very much appreciate getting to know my subscribers. 🌸🩷😊
Sol old school looking.. I'm in Florida with a coastal vibe....blues, whites, glass, greens. This is so farmhouse to me, but maybe that's how California is.
I hear you Florida! California is a huge state with every genre from farms to majestic mountains, cities and vast oceans. And that’s just a start. Thank God for diversity! Cheers 🩷
I think we're slowly losing the beautiful basics that give us our warmest memories, and bring people together. Families need to nurture and feed their souls with love, attention, and time. Thank you Sunny! ☺️🩷
Xo
Your are truly blessed to have shared wisdom of both sets of grandparents. Continued blessings, health happiness and success
Truly. Thank you for such kind sentiments - heartwarming. I wish the same for you. 🩷
Lisa, you are just so lovely and a real lady. Such great tips! Your home is pure elegance and at the same time welcoming and cozy. I love all the various vignettes with fall pumpkins etc. Many blessings beautiful lady.
So very kind of you to say, thank you. Many blessings to you! 🩷
hi Lisa I’m new here…This video rings such truth in so many ways.
Welcome to the channel, I’m delighted to have you here. Thank you for sharing 🩷
Thank you so much for the tips. I love your channel so much and you have such a beautiful home!! You inspire me so much❤️
You are so welcome! That’s what I’m always aiming for, so your words mean a lot, thank you ☺️
Enjoyed your tips! Lovely home.
Thanks so much! 😊
Would you please make a video regarding how to hang pictures on the wall? At 7:29 I notice a grouping of three- it looks so elegant! I am interested to learn how you plan these groupings- size, hanging at what level, etc. That would be super helpful! So lovely thank you for sharing!
Great suggestion! Thank you. 😊
New subscriber here. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and experiences with us! Looking forward to hearing your holiday tips.

Hello Lisa,
I just found your channel and been binge watching all your videos 😊
You are so inspiring and I feel we are so similar, from books to decor.

Love your dress!
Thank you!!
@@lisaemeterio I’m Jo Ann. But go by Jo. Ty so much for your videos.

Do you ware your beautiful dresses when you go out to do your shopping ? you must be recognized through your RUclips channel .
Indeed I truly do! I’m aware that I’m known for wearing dresses, but haven’t had a moment where I’m recognized from YT. 😊
I live in the mountains of Colorado and watching your channel has got me wearing the dresses i have in my closet and enjoying wearing them .
This is awesome!! And I’m imagining you are feeling comfortable. Thank you for sharing 😍

@@lisaemeterio thank you 😊
Love your videos, so head I found your channel ❤since you are a stunning woman, can you do videos also on your hair care and skin care?
Thank you, you are so kind and I will consider your suggestion 🤗🩷
Loved this! Where is your dress from?
Hi Sarah, thank you! I shop around on Etsy (mostly) for linen dresses and they come from overseas. It’s risky bc they can’t be reasonably returned.
@@lisaemeterio Thank you for not thinking me silly.
Not silly in the slightest. Very smart actually. Woke up thinking it would be a great video to do before thanksgiving ! 🤩
I just subscribe. I will take good lessons & wisdom anywhere I can find them.
Welcome! And I could not agree with you more on getting wisdom anywhere we can 👍🏼🩷
You seem like a lovely person and I would enjoy being the recipient of your hospitality!
Thank you for the inspiring video! Could you please post your recipe for Chicken and Biscuits Casserole? It looks delicious!
Gladly, it’s from Ina Garten’s cookbook, “Barefoot Contessa Family Style” Chicken Stew with Biscuits. It’s a perfect recipe. (This time I made it with 12 skinless chicken thighs and it was divine, but the breast is great too.) 😋
Very nice Lisa. I decided to subscribe.
I’m honored to have you 😊!
I just discovered your channel and really enjoyed this video. I too love to entertain and love the cozy elegance that you and your home exude. When you mentioned ‘amber’ lighting, is that a special type of bulb that you use or just that it is ambient lighting? Thanks!
Welcome ! It’s “warm” amber bulbs + cream and wheat colored shades. When I have a chance I’ll link them below the video. Thank you 😊!
I'm so thrilled to have discovered your awesome channel. I love the art of hospitality and unfortunately a lot of people don't even comprehend what the word hospitality means. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful home along with your various tips about plants to tablescapes. Have a fantastic day. Take care 🦋
Thank you so much Brenda, I’m thrilled too - welcome to the family! 🩷
Thanks for the reply.@@lisaemeterio
How nice in calif!
True.
Love all these tips ❤ Are your amber light bulbs led by chance? Thx
Yes they are and I’ll link them on the video when I have a chance 👍🏼
It would be so great if you would link items of furniture or products mentioned below.
Good idea 👍🏼
Sol old school looking.. I'm in Florida with a coastal vibe....blues, whites, glass, greens. This is so farmhouse to me, but maybe that's how California is.
I hear you Florida! California is a huge state with every genre from farms to majestic mountains, cities and vast oceans. And that’s just a start. Thank God for diversity! Cheers 🩷
So inspiring! Could you post your recipes ? 😊
I will post the cookbook of the chicken and biscuit recipe on the video when I have a chance. Thanks for the idea!
