Thank you for inspiring me ! As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become lazy, and not taken the time to bless others by my hospitality. I want to make an effort to get back to this sweet ministry of giving.❤
Such a classic rich tradition….We are so laid back in 2023; maybe a little too comfortable. There are times that we must put away the red Solo cups and paper plates and kick it up a notch or two. I know many of us have grandma’s stuff put away in a display cabinet never to be used…And it should…Life’s too short. (Lisa, I’m sorry for the loss of your mom…I too lost Mom almost 5 years ago…Of all the deaths in my family, that one was the hardest.). Cheers to you and your daughters!
Well said and all so true! My deepest condolences for your loss. I hear this all the time and can only surmise we are the lucky ones to have had such precious moms. 😇😇
Your daughters are so blessed to have a Mama to treat them to such a special afternoon. Tea is one of my absolute pleasures in life. Your sandwiches, scones and treats all looked amazing. I know most people don't love it, but I adore a smoked salmon and cream cheese with dill sandwich at tea. Also I just love the little sheep and your grandparents flower filled bowl on the side table. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful attention to detail.
Thank you Liane, you’re so sweet! Smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill would be amazing! I decided to keep the menu easy to prepare (and simple on the palette) to please picky eaters and children alike, but as you know the sky is the limit on tea party preparation. 😘
Thank you so much. Very lovely! May I join you? Lol. ❤️ I love seeing elegant settings and I’m also a lover of all things Victorian. I’ve wanted to do a tea party and I think I can do it now that I’ve watched you. Much love. 😊
You have my sympathy in the loss of your mother. What a loving and beautiful way to celebrate and honor her life. Peace be with you and your family at this time of loss. On another note, I really enjoy your channel. I look forward to getting that notification saying you've posted a new video. Thank you!
My condolences on the loss of your mother. She sounds like a lovely lady. What a nice way to remember her with this beautiful tea. I am a new subscriber and have now watched all of your videos. You have such a calming presence in the kitchen. I should also say that your home is beautiful.
What a special way to honor your mother. My Grandma and Mom (from England) always had afternoon teas and I just loved that. It was just always a thing with us three generations as the years went on. Nothing fancy but tea, light lunch, biscuits and lots of fun conversations. My grandmother was sharp into her 90’s and my mom and her loved beautiful things too. Even my husband loved it. Our Christmas Eve was similar and intimate with whoever happened to be there and then we put on an old Christmas movie. We still enjoy tea and the holidays the same way today with my mom. These are memories we hold dearest. Thanks for sharing. 🫖☕️
I love hearing that tea time was (and is) a tradition you still share with your mom. So much can be learned from the generations before us. Your sharp Grandmother taught that tea time is a fabulous reason to simply be together for fun conversation and a light lunch! That is precious wisdom to pass along! Thank YOU for sharing!! 🤩😍
That bread you used for the 🥒 cucumber and radish sandwiches 🥪 looked divine. I know it was tasty. I love nothing more than a tea party. Thanks for the video.
This visit provided such joy and inspiration!!! The previous viewer comment stated all the sentiments I feel about myself. But no more!!! Time to show love in these beautiful ways! Thank you Lisa!
I miss my Mom too. She really made Christmas fun. I decorate with her in my thoughts. Your video was so nice. You have a lovely home and your tea party prep was fun to watch.
Thank you Elaine, your Mom sounds wonderful. I’m learning about the “new normal” without my mom as we approach the holiday season (she passed in May). You’re so right, loved ones can live in our thoughts - most vibrantly. No doubt the tears will keep coming at random times until my grieving settles. Downloading and sharing our Moms is a way to pay the love forward. 🩷
Your videos are so heartfelt. My mom passed recently also after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Thank you for your words of remembrance for your own mother. ❤
Just keep getting better & better!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Reminding us to live our best lives!!! Covid separated us from people we love & now we need to be reminded how to get closer again!!!❤ So important to pass on family traditions & keep the love ripples flowing all around the world!!!❤❤❤

She must be so proud of you and I am grateful you share so many wonderful things with us through your videos. Thank you. ❤ Cheers from northern cal
Many of us can totally relate and sympatize with the loss of your mother. I lost mine on March 2nd of this year. I also love how you carry on her traditions. That is truly special.🌹
Truly. I’m motivated to share so much of what she (and many key women) have taught me to keep traditions circulating and alive into the next generation. There is so much joy in sharing the best parts of our moms with others - through our actions. That gives me peace. Women need women!! We nurture the world! 🩷
I too recently loss My Beloved Mother. I enjoyed watching her drink tea. Now I drink a cup of tea and understand how relaxing you become. I located a vintage tea cup set she used and now enjoy it with her!
May your mother rest in peace. She would be proud of you. Beautiful preparation of high tea 👍🏻562. I really enjoyed it. New friend here from Switzerland 🇨🇭
A pleasure to connect Switzerland! Wow, you just pulled my heartstrings (in a good way)🥹 She began a steep decline around the launch of the channel and never saw a video - nor could she understand it. And yet she’s such an inspiration for everything I do and would have loved it so much. I’m still grieving but it helps to “channel” all she taught me about life into the channel! Thank you ☺️ 🌷🩷
So sorry for the loss of your mom Lisa! My mom was great at entertaining as well. Beautiful table setting and everything looks delicious! I entertain as often as I can. I love having friends around once in a while. I love Earl Gray tea! It has been my most favorite for decades now. Recently I discovered hibiscus tea is just as delicious too.
Very nice tea time! I' m sorry for your loss. So beautiful, that you do it in rememberence of your mother. Your home is also so beautiful! Seems you are a very caring person. The big knife is from a german brand😉 But why do cut off the ends of the sandwiches and what are you doing with them? Thanks for your video and greetings from Germany 😊
Hi Susanne from Germany 🇩🇪, Welcome! Life would not be the same without my German knives, (Miele) vacuum and (ECM) espresso ☕️ machine! I’m pretty conscious about not wasting food, but in the case of English tea sandwiches, it’s custom to make them pretty this way. (Wish I had German bread though, maybe I’d rethink the crust 😉.) My other grandparents were Dutch and I’m heavily influenced by them as well. Tommy’s grandparents on his Fathers side were from Spain. Family origins and history are precious. Our ancestors suffered so much for us to all even be here. Thank you for your kind sentiments and reaching out. 😊
What a thoughtful hostess you are. Everything looks delicious and beautiful. I lost my mom in April. She was 92. I have her china, china cabinet and a few possessions that she loved. I will continue with the recipes and holiday traditions she shared with all of her family.
Thank you. ☺️ Please know how truly sorry I am for your loss. We are quite parallel in that my mom was 91 and passed in May. I thought I was okay with it but now am giving myself a year to fully grieve… which mean it hits me hard in the most unexpected moments and places. I had no idea it would be this hard. Enjoy her china and all of those sweet memories you’ve had with her.🩷
How special to have afternoon tea in your mother’s memory. I have my late mother’s Royal Albert tea set and love using it. Please use the guard when operating a mandolin. I cringed when I saw you slicing that radish 😬.
Yes, thank you! 😆 was thinking about this over Easter when I was slicing potatoes for gratin and using kitchen gloves! I love visualizing you enjoy your mom’s tea set - thanks for sharing. 💝
That's a great tip for the faux clotted cream, since I've never been able to find only pasteurized heavy cream anywhere. Do you whip them seperatly then fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone?
Yes, it’s so easy! In an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip together equal parts cold heavy whipping cream and mascarpone, (with sugar to taste) just as you would whipping cream. It stays perfectly in the refrigerator for a few days. 😊
Afternoon tea reminds me of my mom too ❤I love that you continue the tradition with your daughters. Your table wear is so pretty! Where did you get the cake stand?
Good news, I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word (Jesus) and believes Him who sent Me (God) has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24 Jesus died for you, all you have to do is believe & repent.
Please tell me you washed the lettuce before slicing it up so finely..so many creatures living in those crevices and may appear if not completely washed ie each leaf inspected and washed ...hmmm
Thank you for inspiring me ! As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become lazy, and not taken the time to bless others by my hospitality. I want to make an effort to get back to this sweet ministry of giving.❤
