Yeah, what we've managed to hear of Ben's performance in XVI so far is crazy good. Especially since he's apparently adjusting his voice accordingly to whatever age Clive is at in the game and it all sounds natural. Very, VERY excited to hear the rest of his performance!

I find it cool how his favorite FF is 8 and he’s voicing the protagonist of FF16, 8 games later
Also it would mean Ifrit was the very first "summon" (GF) he ever got to fight/see in a Final Fantasy game, and he's voicing Clive, who is basically Ifrit.
It's a nice thing Ben mentioned about Dissidia and having Clive be included in the roster of Heroes, that's what I'm also looking forward in the future. Please make this happen Square 😊

This was a great conversation! It's so cool to see such a big FF fan get to play the lead role. When he started talking about the Deep Sea Research Center in FF8, I was like damn this guy is speaking my language.

Ben is a man after my own heart with his reasoning behind why FF8 is his favorite despite the flaws, I had an identical experience with 8 in particular when I was growing up.
I was actually thinking recently how FF16 is the only Final Fantasy since 8 that I've found myself being genuinely excited by and have been looking forward to playing, something about it just appeals to me in a way other installments haven't really, even if I still liked them a whole lot.
I honestly can't remember the last time I really felt this passionate about the franchise, with the exception of FF14 Expansion releases. The voice work I've heard so far in the FF16 trailers sounds fantastic and feels just right.
That Ifrit line delivery definitely stuck with me.

Really nice interview! So nice to see Ben is a fan of the series, must be surreal for him to now voice the protagonist of XVI. Also, what's with voice actors for FF protagonists being sooo good looking these days? He's gorgeous!

It is so amazing to hear that Ben is such a huge fan of Final Fantasy and so relatable with gaming! He has such a pleasant voice and I could listen to him talk for hours.
But then again, guess I will be hearing him for hours when I play XVI! Cheers to you guys, and thank you for putting on the interview! And congrats on landing the role of Clive, Ben!

He sounds so passionate about the series. Imagine getting to work on a franchise you've loved all your life --- not to mention having a lead acting role. That must be both nerve-wracking and thrilling at the same time. From what I've heard and seen of FFXVI so far though, Ben Starr absolutely kills it. The voice acting in the game overall is shaping up to be stellar, imo.

Well, now that we're on the other side of the demo... I can more clearly see and confidently say that this man is very talented.
Instead of the Game Awards, you should have asked him about the very first reveal of the game at PlayStation Showcase 2020. Missed opportunity so I hope you get him again for an interview.
