This is a song I can say that has literally helped save my life. 5 months sober and strong. If anyone else out there is struggling just know there is someone who believes in you. I know I do. We all can get better, but you can only “eat an elephant” one bite at a time.

I'm suffering from an addiction to alcohol, I started everyday with a cup of coffee with vodka in it when I woke up and that wasnt even close to the last drink, I didn't stop drinking until I went to bed (or passed out) and then I sobered up for about two months and then started again a few months ago and haven't been able to control it because it's my way of coping

I lost my husband of 20 years to alcoholism last December and every bit of this song was him except for the part of no one taking care of him. I took care of him for the whole 15 years that he drank until there was almost nothing left of me. I lost myself in trying to help him and he said "thank you" by looking me in the eyes as he put a gun up to his head and pulled the trigger. My heart goes out to any and everyone who struggles with this addiction and to those who love someone who is struggling.

Every day sober is worth it! 10 years and 9 months alcohol free on the 29th of this month, and I'll tell anyone that the worst day in sobriety beats the best day drinking!
Hope I can reach that point. Was never ever a drinker. My parents were drunks. Then a 10 or so months ago I somehow started? It was almost like I pushed myself cuz I fucking hate alcohol. the taste. The damage it causes.
Up to over a 5th a day. I'm somehow still "functional" in day to day but once my responsibility is over for the day I drink myself into an oblivion. And I wake up, shakey. Ill.

Last night I drank my last drop of alcohol. After finishing more than half a bottle of Tequila and it didn’t get me drunk so I kept going and my son woke up and found me in the living room with the bottle and told me “mom you’re an alcoholic” and that stung. So I’m leaving this comment to hold myself accountable. I hope that maybe this will inspire someone else to chose sobriety. Been sober 8 months and this song is me. Sad but true. I drank as much as I could to numb pain from my past. Lot of my 20's and some 30's are a blur. After almost jumping out a moving car I realized I was done. My wife gave me an option drink or family. I chose my family. Got back in the gym and went from 180 to 158. Back in church and changing the way I raise my kids. I wish I would have stopped sooner but I am done now. God bless

I been sober for awhile now and it feels good
I'm 4 months into sobriety from alcohol, with a su!fire attempt from trying to deal with me and life. I'm moving back into a hostel I lived at previously and it scares me so much how I'm going to deal and manage myself there. I pray I stay strong but I'm literally petrified for how it may trigger me and how I will just cope with living there. It may sound stupid because it's down to my own actions and choices. I hope I can be different and things will too.

I am currently an addict I have been drinking since I was 9 I am trying to battle but it is hard. I do drink to escape just like all alcoholics. I never want to deal with myself and my issues from my past I drink to forget. I hope all of you who drink to excess will take me as a person to talk to or just remember that no matter how hard it is WE will get better as long as we try our hardest and seek some help I am currently in counseling and it has helped a lot I have very bad mental conditions and never wanna deal with it. I hope this will reach those who need it to. I know things will get better because I have gotten myself down to drinking 1-2 times a week albeit several drinks at a time but I have gotten better and it does feel better being off so much alcohol. Please if you are dealing with addiction like me seek help it's not attention seeking it is simply wanting to ask for help you have to WANT to get better before you will truly get better thanks to all who read this I hope you will also comment with your own struggles so others an help
