Im trying to get sober. I know its corny, but you're not alone. This song helped my brother get sober, and now im using it to do the same thing. I feel horrible and its easier to stay drunk, but its it's better if we dont do that. Its really fun untill you wake up with that hangover tyen you think, "I'll never do it again", but you do even though its bad for you.

I must say I was very nervous that day 8-16. But it had to be done before I went on the road where I would not have been able to pull it off. Did you know there are secret compartments in Graceland that very few people know about! A few like Vester would joke about my being alive but no one took him serious. Many of my friends would ask if I were still alive and they have their doubts but as it was I might have died broke and just a shell of myself. I was given an injection that looked like I was dead but the people closest to me knew better. Believe me I had my doubts that this could be pulled off. But it did and I became Jesse, just a poor white southern boy who didn't sing a lick of anything. I feel bad my Daddy wasn't allowed to know but it just couldn't be done. From another perspective... I grew up in a war zone due to an abusive, alcoholic Father. When these videos started, I was just a few months leaving a relationship with an alcoholic partner. I was so angry. Watching these videos, hearing the words of so many... brought me to ugly cries every time. I was able to find understanding, empathy and feelings other than anger. This helped me to remember the love that had once existed, let go of regret and HEAL. I would never go back because the abuse was too much. But, I don't linger in the bad feelings and I really believe I was able to work through this because of THIS project and the divine timing! Thank you Dax and all contributors! ❤

As a 70 year old woman, believe me I can relate to all the words being sung. I’m still in pain, no amount of therapy makes the pain go away like escaping into the bottle of wine or whiskey. Recently, I was told I have liver issues, now my decision is to let it kill me, or change. I had to be mother and father to 3 small children, and the whole time I did nothing, no weed, no alcohol, no pills, just raw feelings from all the abuse of others, from a little girl to a grown woman. Now, I’m alone in my feelings with weed and alcohol. I say this to say take care of yourself before you wake up one day to look in the mirror and see 70, and the pain is still in your eyes.

I probably already commented this but here it is Nov 26, 2023 and I am still listening to this song. 3 years ago it was to help release the tears I was keeping inside while going through a divorce while it seemed like nobody really cared or wasn't aware of the demons inside I was fighting. This song helped me feel like I wasn't alone.
3 years later I listen so that I remember what ive overcome as I survived and I am happily engaged to the love of my life.

I was an alcoholic and stopped drinking when i had my first son 11yrs ago and the min i heard this song it has helped me me keep my streak. I am now a mother of 3 now and they need me. Also a grade 3 brain cancer survivor. @Dax thank u for making such a huge impact like u r. I wish other artists wud get onboard with it and stop making crap songs.

Long song, but i woke up in rehab after about 17 years of long prison time and addiction . I want to reach out to your guys in early addiction, it's dangerous to not get help, and i was one of those people not willing to sober up. I ended up hurting someone in a high speed, she was 89 years old and about died. By the grace of God she made it. Im in rehab and avoided prison and that should hit someone close to home. Its not 2 late to get help : )

I've listened to this more time than I can count. It's still a comfort in a way to remind myself I'm not the only one that's going through it. 7 years clean (dealers choice opiates/benzos/methamphetamine). Some of those demons are still lingering. I hit bottom when I started hating the drugs more than I hated myself. That was only going to end one way and then the realization came that having kids meant that it wasn't my life to take.
@@OvelNick I have two kids myself. Sole caretaker. Their dad got clean with me, then walked away after our youngest was born last year. I ended up relapsing because of it. My mom kept my kids. I ran out one day, and starting coming down hard, then I realized what the fuck I was doing, i came back home and took care of them while detoxing myself. Been sober since for them. I struggle with it everyday, but I don't let the addiction win. My kids deserve better than that. One step at a time.
I love this song reminds me a lot of people out there struggling as well got so bad about 15 years ago estate sale for about five years struggling ever since I think they were just added. Covers everything really know but yeah mate there is still hope for all of us

The lost souls of the world are not found in churches. I’m so glad that this song has changed so many lives and shout out to the people who submitted their verses for the courage to be vulnerable and tell their stories. I lost so many friends to substance abuse and seen lives and families ruined. It’s refreshing to see a different approach to show compassion and try to help these people instead of demonizing them.
