Back in the late 70's -1980's when I was a mom and Girl Scout and Brownie leader, I made tin ornaments like this with my cross stitch. I had my scouts make them as well as gifts. I also made 1.5 inch ornaments and magnets foe the refrigerator. These are great as gifts as well as for your own home. Thank you Kimberly for this great idea, and bringing back some wonderful memories.🥰❤️🧵🪡
I wish we had all those lovely supplies over here in The Netherlands. There is one! shop that is going to carry sticky board. But I hope more shops will follow. We also do not finish our stitched pieces the way you do. And I love it!! To get exact placement you could die cut an acetate circle the same size as the sticky rounds.
I’m looking forward to doing my Lori Holt stitch cards. I like that they are quick. I have so much quilting to do that I need smaller projects for cross stitching.
It’s so hard to pick a favorite ornament because they are all so cute. I was disappointed that the book was sold out! My favorite cookie has to be chocolate chip oatmeal. Not all of my family likes these so more for me lol!
I’m new to the craft and working on an ornament as we speak (for my stitching group ornament exchange). The cinch technique is GENIUS! I’ve been struggling with how to get that nice even edge on my circle. THANK YOU!!
thank you Kimberly and FQS team! These are adorable-thank you for adding in all the "extras" in your format like the Chapters and the pop up links to the products featured🎄
I love the tart tins! I finished these exact designs for my sister last Christmas. Those tart tins are just perfect and can’t wait until they are in stock!
Just an idea... instead of gluing the piece to the tart tin, you could use magnets and washers, and that way you could swap them out by season. ❤️ Those tart tins are SO cute!!
I would love to know of more patterns that would work for this. I have nephews and nieces I'd make these for. One loves horses and another birds. Of course I could make them all candy canes. But, I'd like to personalize them by giving them what they love.
Such a great idea. I have had all the stitching done for a while but couldn’t decide how to finish them. I was so disappointed when I went to order the tins and found they are sold out. I need to have them done by Thanksgiving as that’s when my extended family celebrates Christmas.
Have a few suggestions to lessen your understandable stress…. 1) Don’t be so hard on yourself! You seem to be a very involved momma and you work more than full-time. 2) Ask the nanny to every day text you and Kevin the kid’s locations at the end of her shift. 3) Embrace apps on your phone which help you know where the kids are such as life 360, find my phone, etc 3) Invest in apple tags. I consider them to be the absolute best invention. I have one on my key chain and one on my purse. Also have one on my Dad’s walker in assisted living. He is not a wanderer but of he decides to go for a walk, I always know where he is for his safety. For your kids, put one on their house keys, one in a back pack. Know pros and cons for all of the above but in this day and age, I think these are for safety. Get some rest!
We used 25 count but you could use a different count as long as they finish smaller than the sticky circles. We have a cross stitch calculator here that can help: bit.ly/3AHr5iF

Will 14 ct fabric fit? This is so cute!!!
Hello Aimee! It would depend on how large the piece finishes at. We have a cross stitch calculator that can help.

Love it! Will the tins also come in black?❤
Hello Beth! We do not have plans to make it in black.

Does FQS sell the batting? If so, what is the SKU #? Thanks! These are super cute.
Hello Dee! We used cotton batting from our scraps: www.fatquartershop.com/nsearch/?q=80%2F20+quilters+dream+cotton+batting
I might have missed it but what count fabric works to get the correct size for the tin tarts and sticky circles?
We used 25 count but you could use a different count as long as they finish smaller than the sticky circles. We have a cross stitch calculator here that can help: bit.ly/3AHr5iF
If I use 14 count Adia will they still fit in the tart tin. Wondering before I order. 28 count is two small for me
Hello Bonnie! Yes, it will finish at the same size as the 28 count.
I think I missed it, what fabric was Santa stitched on?
Hello Bonnie! It was stitched on Oatmeal 25 Count Lugana Evenweave 18" x 27" Vintage Cross Stitch Cloth: bit.ly/3qmes87
