Finishing Hoop Ornaments with Vonna - The Twisted Stitcher

- Learn to finish your cross stitch, needlepoint or embroidery pieces into Hoop Ornaments
In this finishing video, I used:
4 inch wooden embroidery hoop
Rae Dunn inspired digitized alphabet that I embroidered onto white Bella Solid fabric
Quilting cotton for baking
Acid free, 4 ply mat board
Cotton batting
Needle, upholstery thread and All purpose three both by Coats and Clark
Aleene’s Tacky Glue
5/8 inch ribbon and 3/8 inch ribbon
Baker’s Twine
Scissors for cutting paper and fabric
Iron - the one used in this video was mini-iron: STEAMFAST
Wool Pressing Mat: made in USA, 24 x 24 inch square 1 inch thick

Just the trick I needed! I’ve been trying to finish hoop ornaments as if putting fabric in for stitching. Not happy!

Very nice tutorial, Vonna. Thank you! I love your finishes and I agree I don't want my stitching overwhelmed by my final finish. So many FFOs I see are too fru fru and overdone with floral picks, bows, ribbons, yada yada yada. FFOs are accessories, they should enhance not drown the main attraction.

Oh, my gosh! This is so simple. I've been trying to figure out how others have gotten such a neat backing on their hoop mountings. I'm making a wall hanging for one of my granddaughters and mounting it in a hoop. Now I'll use this tutorial to finish it off nicely. Thank you so much for all you do, Vonna.
