Great tutorial! I laughed for a couple minutes with your "eyes" addendum to the list of finishing supplies ❤. (Also the no-sirree- bob is exactly what I grew up saying). Thank you for finding a way to make our finishing spot on time after time with those boards.
Love the idea of pre cut boards to save time. Trying to use a thin layer directly from the Alene’s bottle is extremely challenging. I use a plastic 2 oz bottle with a stainless steel needle tip to dispense the glue for my trim. The glue has to be thinned with water to go through the needle tip, but it gives me the perfect amount of glue and I have never had a problem caused by thinning Alene’s glue with water.
Thank you for the finishing tutorial. The boards look like a great thing to have on hand. Side note: It's 12:40 p.m. I should be in bed by now, and my dog is mad that I won't come to bed, but after watching this, my brain is just hearing "My Humps" from the Black-Eyed Peas. Thanks for the inspiration and reminding me of that song.
I have a Christmas ornament to finish but it's round. But at least now I know how to do it right. I have to love anyone who does the math for me. Two key points, wash gluey fingers and hide my humps. Love it.
I am more excited about these pre-cut boards than a human being should be. Will there be other shapes offered? Maybe circles/ovals? Great finishing video as well!!
Oh my goodness. This is the most exciting, wonderful, greatest thing. I can not wait to order mine. I hate cutting mat board. I can't wait to measure a bunch of stuff when I get home and order these babies. You have made Friday the 13th into the greatest day ever!!!!!
Thanks, Steph for this tutorial. I always learn something new. I was just going to ask about using books and then you said you used them. I had not thought of the towel on the front to protect it. So I’ll try that next. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to the next jingle ball.
This is an awesome idea! I need to finish Birds of a Feather angel ornaments, and really need to get my hands on oval cut board. Please let me know if you are going to offer these too!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial...I did order your finishing boards. Hopefully I will be able to finish several of the Prairie Schooler Santas I'm making this year!!! Again, thanks so much. Peggy
That was an excellent tutorial period I wondered how to do some of the rick racking things period I definitely will be buying some of those boards to help with finishing period thank you very much
Thank you for the precut boards. I’ve been looking for some 4” and 4 1/2” rounds to fit my Stitching with the Housewives ornaments. Hope you can get some. I have moved from using glue to stitchery tape for attaching the fabric on the back of the mat. Keeps my hand cleaner. Cording is my least favorite chore. I would pay good money for premade cording!!
Thank you so much
You made that look so easy and doable
Definitely need to order a variety of sizes
Thank you for adding mat boards that are ornament-size pre-cut and proving a tutorial to go along with it. Take care!
