I'm already obsessed with everything you show. Lady, you eat up my leisure time, cut into my sleep, and keep me awake, figuring out how to upcycle my junque. I love it. Good thing I live alone. Lol ❤❤❤❤❤
I got the chance to have a close friend who dealt in antiques. A few times, I asked why the price was so high for old portraits, etc. She responded that it was not so much the image, but the frames. I had no idea how much they were worth and she reminded me to check before I altered, because I could be decreasing value... a lot. She also made me aware of when to spend a bit because I knew the framing costs and that included non-glare glass in some newer ones. Untouched oval frames with the dimensional glass were high sellers. I miss her voice in my ear.
Yes vintage bubble glass is expensive and you are correct the old frames are worth some money. I do try to sell them first before altering. Thank you for sharing about your friend ❤️
I'm so delighted to have stumbled across this video and your channel! I love your idea of keeping all the color swatches in one book. Such a practical idea yet one that had never occurred to me to do! Would you please consider making a video just to show all your favorite must-have DIY supplies?? Thank you in advance. 💕
Sharon, girl, I have to ‘bookmark’ this video! When it gets cold here in North Carolina (you know, down in the 50’s. Lol) I am going to view this video again and pull out those 50 (no kidding)frames in my stash and get busy, busy, busy! I love every one of these, but I am a fool for anything‘bicycle’, so that one is special. But, oh my, that last one was just awesome. Wonderful, wonderful video and thanks so much for your insight and directions regarding all these finishes and waxes. You’re the best, hands down!
These are all lovely. Thanks for sharing precisely how to do the projects. I am an artist and now starting to think about what I might do with my frames. Thank you.
I’m a 75 yr old grandma who has always been drawn to frames whether or not I have a project in min at the time. Still thrifting them. Thanks for sharing.💗💗💗💗
Shannon, you’ve given your girls roots to grow and wings to fly- you’ve taken them from helpless babies to confident creative women. Your heart aches, worries and is joyful as they find their way. There is nothing like the feeling of when they return and hearing their banter as they share what they’ve experienced. Your son and husband and honey are hearing the quietness of the house as well. You’ll be ok I’m proud of you and hear your heart. I’ve raised 5 kids. I understand.
Oh, Sharon!!! Girl, you did it again. Your creativity and talent are so truly amazing. You know how to make the plain and ordinary into stunning and unique. The inspiration you bring to us is greatly appreciated. I was so excited when your notification popped up. As always, you did not disappoint. Can't wait to see what you create in your next video! Thanks for sharing😊
I love the small frame with the brooch! I have a vintage Weiss brooch that belonged to my grandmother. The poor brooch somehow got twisted and the pin part broke on it so grandma never wore it after that. But it is pretty and I've thought of having it fixed but now I'm going to look for a frame and display it instead.
Great job with a nice variety of styles to the make overs. I also enjoyed your process of showing the project in a state you did not like and the process to bring it to a booth worthy project. Great job!.
I love that you did a frames video. I have a hard time with frames and you just helped me out again. These were perfection, you always inspire, thank you again 😇🙏
I just discovered you're channel and subscribed immediately. I love crafting with frames also but lack the imagination & talent that you possess. Every project is absolutely gorgeous! Thank-you so much for sharing.😊
❤ I adore all of these and would display in my own home, I will be watching this video again so many projects and I was mesmerized. Thank you for this fun inspiration.
Project 2 with the broach was nice, but as you were sampling items in your broach box you came across a bee and tried it on the velvet. I thought that was awesome. I loved that bee with that frame. Love your work! You are inspiring me! I wish you would do an episode, or probably a few, on how to get started with a business like this. What supplies someone would need, the difference in glues, paints, and tools for example. Also, where to look to find things like frames and what ever else. Your glues and color chart intrigued me I guess! You would know more than me for content, but I would definitely watch “How to get started” videos!
I’m an artist, not antiques dealer, but the only way I can afford to frame my art is 1) cheap new frames or 2) gorgeous old frames, repurposed. Where to find frames is going to depend on where you live. I’ve had the most luck by checking thrift stores very frequently (all of them within a half hour drive 😂), and sometimes at yard sales. Start out with a few inexpensive but not cheap quality brushes. Ace Hardware makes their own brand of brushes that are comparable to Purdy. The 1 1/2” and 2” angled brushes are my favorite for painting frames, etc. Then, for smaller brushes, the large pack at Michael’s that’s about $10 is a good choice for beginners. If you spray paint (or spray Cover Stain primer, which I HIGHLY recommend), the basic rules are 1) only use outdoors and wear a N95 or non-rebreather mask to protect yourself from the fumes; don’t try to spray on a windy day or when the humidity is so high it’s the “air you can wear” (I live in SC); 2) the spray goes much further than you think, so make sure you spray far enough away from the house, etc; 3) multiple VERY LIGHT coats!!! If you spray too much and it drips, you’ll have to remove it and start over again… This is the mistake most beginner DIY’s make; 4) read instructions on can for how long to let dry… Most cans say to re-spray either within the hour, or wait 24 hours.
I have so many frames, and I love using several products, too. Naturally, I love all these projects today. You've given me so many ideas, Sharon. Thank you so much!
Good morning, I always look forward to your videos. It seems I learned so much and they just make my day. This one in particular just blew me away. You are so talented and I am so glad that you share with the rest of us so thank you.
You do such beautiful work on all that you do. I love to learn new ideas and to be inspired how I can use your ideas and inspiration for projects I'm working on.
Love the video. I’ve been currently working on frames the last couple weeks. You gave me some great ideas. The blue frame with the print was my favorite!
I love watching you layering paint and waxes the last frame was beautiful, I always look for frames and like changing colours and prints for different seasons , I also did a similar small frame with an antique buckle 😊❤
I fully enjoyed this video just like I have all of the others. I could literally watch you create all day every day no matter the style, color or what you are creating. I love every bit of it. I totally get the layers and processes. I personally cannot create any other way. I love everything I learn from your channel as well. All of the new products and techniques, I'm here for it all. Thank you so much for sharing.
Wow, I really liked all of your projects! This is the first time I’ve come across your videos and I really enjoyed your creativity. Thanks for the inspiration!
First time I ever seen your work. Just amazing. You gave each piece the right amount of color !! They all also showed up the intricate designs. Live it. I too liked the bee brooch. The cameo was beautiful also. I'm just going to have to subscribe!! Love your work!
Just came across your video. Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous! Thanks tons. I love finding frames and reinventing them. Your color choices are terrific. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. ❤
Love everything 🖤 I love your videos they are so inspiring 💛 I appreciate you letting us know how much things sell for. As a booth owner and creator it helps. Also the rubber finger things to add run and buff is a great idea 💡
Your vision and creativity is off the charts. You always amaze me with your projects. I super loved the frame with Royce’s paper that you grunged and added the moth transfer. I also loved the last frame with all of the layered colors of waxes. That print was stunning. I order a lot of prints from Temu. You can’t beat their prices or the quality.
I love the fabric glue that you spoke of when you used the very small frame to accent the cameo. Because this glue works on so many different textures & things.
This is wonderful and your timing is amazing!! I just moved from CA to the Midwest - I had (and brought) so many frames - all sizes. I'm now a vendor at a local shop selling junk journals and altered bottles, but you've inspired me to add to my inventory, that's for sure. Thank you so much! Hugs from the Midwest, USA, MK
I'm obsessed with that lady from the back in that blue frame with that amazing orange/red wax!!!! What brand is that wax? Is it the fire bird? I saw that one on Amazon or Etsy and ALMOST got it... I NEED it now 😮 love your ideas and creativity! You are so original and NOONE on RUclips is anything close to as amazing, stunning, and creative as you are ❤❤❤ (well, my best friend Krafty Kathy is pretty amazing, but she looks up to you just as much ask I do!)
Haha! I was watching you do the horse stamp with paint and remembered the first time I tried paint with a stamp! I am a dork and I tried using Fusion all in one paint which permanently dried on my brayer and my stamp even when I took it STRAIGHT to the sink... Plus, it dried before I was even able to stamp it on... THAT fast 😮 so, don't make my mistake guys 😅
It is the Red Amber and I did find it on Amazon but can’t share the link right now. If u don’t find it let me kno and I will share the link when I get home. Thank u for the lovely comment 🥰
I'm already obsessed with everything you show. Lady, you eat up my leisure time, cut into my sleep, and keep me awake, figuring out how to upcycle my junque. I love it. Good thing I live alone. Lol ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm with you,same here!
Wow, thank you! I love your comment! You are so appreciated!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰
Where did you get the corners for the blue frame? And did you make the wax board yourself? 😊
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Oh, I would’ve put the bumblebee in that frame in a second! That was adorable!
Very much 👍 agree😊😊😊
me too!!!
Me too!

The framed photo of the woman is stunning
