According to the inscriptions of Jaya Dev II, Supushpa was the founder of the Lichhavi dynasty. And the 24th descendant of King Supushpa, Jaya Dev II, re-established the rule of Lichhavis in Nepal.

The country was transitioning from a feudal monarchy to a democratic republic, and there was a growing sense of nationalism among the Nepalese people. In this context, some historians in Darjeeling began to falsify Nepali history in order to give a sense of identity to the Janajati groups, who were a marginalized and oppressed community.
One of the most common falsifications was the claim that the Kirats, an indigenous ethnic group, had once ruled over Nepal. This claim was based on a passage from the Mahabharata, an Indian epic poem. However, this passage is not reliable, as it was written centuries after the Kirats had been conquered by the Licchavis, a Hindu dynasty that ruled Nepal for over 500 years.
Another common falsification was the claim that the Janajati groups had been the original inhabitants of Nepal. This claim was based on the fact that the Janajati groups still live in the hills and mountains of Nepal, which were once the center of the Kirat kingdom. However, there is no historical evidence to suggest that the Janajati groups were the original inhabitants of Nepal. In fact, it is more likely that they migrated to the region from Tibet or India centuries ago.
