Thinking about your muddy roads I found this info -"To harden a dirt driveway, mix lime with sand or dirt. Lime is a natural, inexpensive material that is effective at absorbing moisture from the soil. It can come in various forms, including quicklime or hydrated lime. The basic mixture is simple: three parts dirt to one part sand, and one part lime" NOT an expert so this is just FYI.

You don't just dump stuff in the road wth is wrong with you. That "road" he's ruined with his overweight equip & vehicle isn't even a designated road, it's a fire trail. A fire trail or recreational trail falls under the BLM/Dept of Nat Resources. Yeah go ahead & dump some Sakrete on it😅 are you going to pay the fine?

When my kids got into 4H, my party barn turned into a dirty mess. Mud “grew” exponentially”. The extension agent had us till up the area, add hydrated lime - then rototill the area again. This gave us a very hard area that shed water,
From what I could observe from the videos, the water is running down the side of the road to a low area - then crossing the road. The fix requires a drainage pipe or two under the road. Left “as is” it will just get worse every “wet” year.

For knots in wood you should use a knotting compound on the knots, it's made from shellac and methylated spirit I believe when used over the knots only, the wood can then be primed, undercoated and 5op coated and the knots will not bleed through, it is an orange colour so can't be used with wood being varnished

That shiplap really looks nice. I like your new excavator and you’re right, that bobcat does one heck of a lot of work. As for your issue with freezing pipes, I took a three season porch in my old house and used it for a washer and dryer. As I live in southern Minnesota, freezing temperatures are no stranger. I used a 10,000 BTU propane, wall-mounted heater that did not need to be vented. Very inexpensive and used very little propane.

Youre doing a great job, been watching since you were building your home. And watching your kids grow. You never cease to amaze me. Thing about these fires since 2017, they dont burn like fires did previously at 1400 degrees, these ones burn at 3400 degrees. They melt aluminum car rims, windows, motors, disintegrate water heaters, washers & dryers, cut homes cleanly in 2 & dont melt plastic trash cans. Worst part is, those that can afford to rebuild arent given occ certs bc of weird chemicals now found in the soils.
