I am a West Brom fan but my weekends are spent watching Darlaston Town in the Midland Premier Divison. I have seen Darlaston get promoted thanks to a 96th minute winner beat the two teams who got promoted last year in Walsall Wood and Lye, I've seen us on the TV BBC Red Button FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round Vs Rivals and higher league opposition Sporting Khalsa. We drew 2-2 thanks to a late goal that had an attendance of 974, we then took them back to our place and drew 2-2 in front of 1,144 people where we lost on Penalties. We have beaten West Brom's kids and Wolves Kids in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Penalties. I have seen us score last minute winners. I can chat to the gaffer and players after the game. I get Social time there and I go for the love of the game. West Brom will be there despite Lai's best efforts in twenty years time. Darlo hopefully is to. It is a phoniex club of the original Darlaston Town that went bust.

Only came across your channel recently and I've gotta say I love what you do. It's so refreshing to see stuff like this. Reminds you what football is all about. Keep up the great work
What a fabulous insightful vlog. You really dig deeper, in all your vlogs, into why football means so much to so many. Non League football is the lifeblood of the game followed by proper fans who follow their teams in any weather, win lose or draw,. , and run by dedicated people like Brent and Debra who have such passion for their club and community. And the young lads who said "We're not glory hunters" gave me hope for the future of the game.
Just wanted to say - I watched this video a couple of months ago and it inspired me to go and watch a non-league match when I visited England. Got to see Retford United FC against Staveley Miners Welfare FC at Inkersall Rd and it was exactly like this. They've got a great clubhouse there (with beers on tap!), was able to get pie and peas, sit and enjoy a match with a bunch of local fans. Thanks for such a cool video.
That was actually a beautiful video and possibly one you’ve said the least in, great to showcase such important ordinary people making an impact on the community in a greater way than they probably realise.
When Albion played Aldershot a lot of our fans didn't turn up including my brother in law because they thought it was a pointless cup match. I went and I was amazed at the level of support Aldershot fans gave their team despite getting smashed by us. That's what I went for. They treated it like they were at Wembley, well apart from the idiot who threw a flare into the Home fans seats.

I like your channel for highlighting stories like these. That being said, there is at least one manager in Germany who has been serving for longer than Brent. Ingo Kahlisch has been at Optik Rathenow since 1989, they currently play in Regionalliga (5th tier).
I've always thought that I might be overly sentimental when it comes to my love of football. I've kept most of my views about the magic and beauty I find in football to myself. Brought tears to my eyes, and I'm an Indian in the States. Locals putting their souls out, exasperating themselves to keep non-familial local establishments up and running is something that I cannot fathom with my own experiences but the UK seems to have loads of them. Football may be one instantiation of such endeavours but it goes to show how many such lines of history were cut short by colonialism of various flavours, stories untold of families and communities. That is the humanity that persists and why stories retelling them mean so much. Thanks for the effort you put in to show us this side of the world, @StuntPegg.

I agree, I thought Debra put it beautifully, as have you with this comment.
My Uncle asked me what football team I supported. I was about 11 at the time, 77 now. I said Leyton Orient same as my dad. He shook his head and said you should support Football. I didn't understand at the time. Later on I knew what he was on about. Support the GAME for the games sake. Uncle used to play cricket and football for a small club in East London called Eastley Athletic (now disbanded). These folk love the game and their club. Long may they survive.
Live how you cover all divisions of football and show us every different side of the beautiful game this is why the game is for everyone and the passion is there in every division great content 👍
I was going to suggest you come to the South coast and cover the Dorchester-Weymouth rivalry, but it’s just great to see non-league getting some love 😊
❤
Hi, Discovering your channel has been one of the best thing. it's great watching these tiny clubs and how are people are so connected to these clubs. Your videos shows a perspective of non legue football which i haven't come across youtube till now and it is very beautiful and fascinating. Keep up the great work 👍🏽
I live in the USA so I don’t always get this perspective on non-league football. What an amazing video StuntPegg! I believe this is my favorite video I’ve seen you create.
Class, class video today. Almost shed a tear with Debra saying we’re just passing through. Great story telling as I’ve come to expect from You! Hope I can experience a club like this one day
... temporary stewards, of the baton...
I wish more football fans would go along to their local non league side. I'm an Arsenal fan and go to most games, but I have had great experiences going along to Wisbech Town when Arsenal aren't playing. This video just shows you...we all love football and at this level, you get really up close and personal. Well done for showing this level of football, just as enjoyable as videos of the top clubs. Been a viewer for many years Nieve and your videos get better and better as you get older.
Managing the football club as well as looking after the bar and food. It's people like that are the meaning of community...need more blokes like him!
Always feel better after watching a StuntPegg video! Thanks for that!!
This was beautiful, poetic and heartwarming to watch, also fun, and shot with a filmmakers eye.
I adore that manager’s dedication to the club ❤
What a fantastic post. You’re a fantastic documentary maker. From the editing to the warmth you show to the content. Truly talented lady. Thank you
Only came across your channel recently and I've gotta say I love what you do.
❤
Thanks for using your platform to give visibility to these teams, great video.
I loved The League of Gentlemen theme in the intro! Great video as ever 👏
Love that lad saying Championship is better as no VAR…Couldn’t agree more!
This is some of the most impressive documentary work Ive seen on RUclips.
Big shout out to every volunteer, places like this are essensial.
Watching Non league is just pure loyalty and passion it has no corruption like the upper leagues and it’s more fun to watch
Watched a few of your videos, this is probably the best one yet. The photography and editing were spot on. Thank you for highlighting this level of football. You deserve a far bigger platform for your work.
This just got randomly recommended by RUclips and I am pleasently surprised how beautiful and professional this is filmed, great job.
Could you go to a Scarborough athletic game? They are a Phoenix club of Scarborough fc, are fan owned and they have worked their way back up to the national north, where they are challenging for playoff places. They are also managed by Jono Greening.
Brilliant StuntPegg! Fan here from America. Caught my first lower league match in the late 2000's at Underhill watching Barnet...been in love with the English lower leagues ever since. Fantastic content- keep it up!
I live in Barnet. Sadly Barnet FC have moved to Edgware and a school is now built on Underhill stadium. Sad times!
Hey lady, I just subbed. So I hope you continue to push on contents like this here on RUclips. You channel's a hidden gem, the world needs to see it.
The videos just keep getting better
Nieve, your storytelling skills and editing skills are very impressive in this video. I enjoy watching your work so much. You are giving us viewers something we cannot get from any other source. Thank you from the USA.
The views at this ground are outstanding, literally took my breath away. Terrific video.
Bloody love this. Thank you for upping!
This is top class, moved me to tears. Well done!
This was such a heart-warming and entertaining watch. Thanks for making it happen! Oh btw .... lots of top-notch camera work and editing too! SKILLZZZZ 🤯
Awesome video! Thank you for showing the rest of the world a behind the scenes view of what football in England is really all about. Also your picture quality is super crisp. Well done, your effort did not go unnoticed :) Much love from South Africa.
What an absolutely lovely little film. You let the characters speak for themselves, the images and sound were impeccable and it tells a heartwarming story. LOVED IT!
You have a knack for finding and featuring the exact things I treasure the most about this game, about the towns and the people and the history and traditions, charm. While watching your videos I keep thinking to myself "Ah!! She gets it!". Scanning the comments and seeing how others appreciate what you're doing tells me I'm not the oddball I thought I was. I mean, I'm still a weirdo, but for other reasons.
My favorite of your videos... we don't have anything like this in the US. This one had heart, I'd love to see videos like this about the small clubs that are just working to stay alive and keep the heritage for the next generation.
Really well done Nieve. Absolutely excellent how the topic at hand became the focus of the video. A lovingly run local club is such an asset to the community.
You, NP, are setting the basis for this current generation ! My hat is off to you ! I am supporting you more than my PL team ! I hope you get famous and powerful in football very quickly !
What a travesty that in every instance of TV rights sales for the PL, not ONCE have they honored their commitments to ensure that 5% of those payments reach grassroots football. LOVE visiting clubs like these, they are the absolute spine of our game. Thankyou Nieve for all you do for our beautiful game. Still got my stickers from years ago!!!!!
Oh wow!! That’s brilliant. And absolutely spot on. I think kind, decent people are taken advantage of in grassroots, they don’t mind and they do it for all the right reasons but they shouldn’t have to tire themselves out due to a lack of funding and support.
@@stuntpeggnieve The support and funding should be there from the FA, supported by the revenue streams from the Premier League. It really COULD be that simple, were it not for one word. Greed. I hope 2024 brings you happiness, me duck!
Magnificent. Been a few years since Leeds played Bolton and we all followed your blogs at the time. Great to see you've broadened your game now. Some fantastic stuff.
really grateful i found this channel. love such stories :)
Im a Bournemouth fan born and raised and i take my lad to our local non league side of Devizes town all the time. Its great and the burger hut is too tier
This content is top tier for football fans I love it
What an absolutely wholesome video. I love seeing the passion and drive from everyone at the club. What it's all about
Very artsy, very wholesome, very charming.
Well done.
Well done Neive :-) another brilliant and VERY interesting video! Thoroughly enjoyed watching it and a big well-done to all those ordinary people who devote much of their lives to keeping grass-roots teams going!
Thank you for highlighting non league football - These clubs and grounds have so much going for them, their identity, the fab grounds that have character and the most important thing people who put in the long hours and hard graft to keep their club going. Will have to make a trip to Bacup 😊
I just stumbled upon this video and your channel has instantly become one of my favorite on RUclips. Thank you for your hard work in bringing this experience on the internet for people all over the globe. As a child, it was a dream of mine to experience grassroot football in England. This is the closest I've ever come to my dream. Thank you!
wow debra and brent are so awesome. i really hope there are people ready to step into their roles and keep the club humming for decades to come
brilliant stuff.
non league clubs and their people are truly the salt of the earth.
support your local clubs at every opportunity.
2:27 think this might be my new phone background
The shots you choose paint a much better picture than any words you could have picked. I feel as if I am there thousands of miles "across the pond" exploring the stadium. Brilliant work.
this video actually brought me to tears. i love the passion. thank you for your videos ! from the usa
This is what England is really like, not what they put on TV. There's a sense of community everywhere you go, outside the big cities anyway.
Amazing video. This is what its all about.
This is the heart and soul of the game. Love the culture and community of it all. Reminds me of baseball and hockey communities from my youth in the Great Lakes region.
Love being able to see the behind the scenes of different levels of the game! Great video!
Great video, Nieve! 👍🏻👏🏻
