Saw 'em twice. One was a truly great concert. (Sonic Temple) One, Ian got pissed because he thought the crowd wasn't into it enough and he threw the mic down and stalked off with no encore. (Ceremony. that was when it was all pretty much imploding 'cause of drugs tho. "white" indeed)
She sells Sanctuary!! One of the best tracks of the 80s!! On the parties in 1985, 1986 I danced and turned round my axxe, with my arms wide spread with a psychedelic long sleeved shirt on! The 12" of it and the album "Love" are a must in each record collection!!
Billy and his White Falcon are always amazing. Ian just cant be bothered to perform. Getting each lyric out as fast as you can just sucks. And hes done that every time I've seen them.
I couldn’t agree more. You have to search for videos where his vocals are better. Having said that, Billy never disappoints. Spot on every single time, every gig, every song.
Huh? You mean Nigel Preston. Jamie had a great look and a pounding bass, but everyone who replaced him sounded the same. Once Nigel left, the drumming of Sorum took over and that was much less inventive - like the band's overall sound. I think you must be having a laugh...
The rule is....if you are going to write and record one of the greatest pop/rock tracks EVER you dam well better bring it each time you perform it. This was horrible.
12th July 2016: The Cult’s singer, Ian Astbury, has apologised for using a phrase that has been employed to belittle the Black Lives Matter movement. While performing with the Cult at the RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa on 9 July, Astbury launched into a speech about the need to fight racism. The racist phrase he used which has caused offence was: “All lives matter.” Astbury was called out for his remarks with the accusation “#WhitePrivilegeMeans chanting "all lives matter" at a music festival and not apologizing - shame on you.” Ian Astbury tweeted from the Cult’s account: “I sincerely and deeply apologize to everyone I offended by using the phrase "all lives matter" … I fully support #blacklivesmatter and wished to show my solidarity. So disheartened to know that I have offended people of color. Thank you for enlightening me that this phrase is offensive.”
I haven't heard much from BLM in a while. It seems like ages since they last blocked off an entire highway during rush hour. Now they'll never get people on their side!!! 😱
Hey Matt, All Lives Matter! BLM is a movement of spoiled brats thinking they are more important than the rest of humanity. Special victims in need of more Government cheese.
What do you mean man? Dude is grooving it out and feeling the music. He looks awesome. Its impressive that he can dance fluently while playing that sorta fast bassline.
You never know what you are gonna get from this band from one gig to the next.

The Cult w calej okazalosci w orginalnym skladzie zespolu .
Band is in top form, Really nice different version in the middle and the end.

This band just never quite sounded the same without Jamie.

this band never quite sound the same live... sounds awful
@@Kelly-just-kelly Not for Sonic Temple they didn't, eh then?!!!
@@Kelly-just-kelly You probably weren't even born when that band sounded good.
BubbaZen10 .dont be silly
The band is on fire. Ian must have been up all night.
I understand. It happens
"Sparkle in Your Eyes"!
I love the Cult💞
This show was on my 12th birthday.
I was 4. The first time I listened to it was in a cigarretes ad on TV called Hollywood, with young people on jetskis and wingsurfboards.

Thank you for this priceless performance uploading.
Australia 🇦🇺
instead of sounding like the studio version which he is well capable of doing he instead sings it like a drunk jim morrison
I know, it's great !
Bradford McDermott No, he was never capable of doing.
Bradford McDermott cocaine will make u do that 😂
He was drunk I guess.. but this was the their best line up
"When The World Drags You Down !! "". Yeah ! Tell Me about it.......
Ian looks like he can barely stand up man.
Jamie Stewart is the best
Miten voi olla noin huono meininki yleisössä...? Niin suomalaista! :DDD
Is that actually Ian or is that a woman?

I saw them in NOLA in 93 or 94 and they are just not very good live. Damn shame I love the music
Every time i have seen them Billy delivers. However Ian always just phones in his vocals. Just talks the lyrics. So annoying.
He’s got to be the worst front man of all time
Watch Ian at the Tibet Freedom concert before making that decision.

Of course all lives matter, but the phrase is a purposeful diversion from the Black Lives Matter movement, which is what makes it offensive.
come on fuck, only The Real Workers Black Lives Matter

He was right, all lives matter.

This is GREAT....but the bass needed to back off a bit.
I like the way, he moves and sounds.

Never. This version is great as it is
You can never complain about too much bass
