Immy, I love how calm your videos are. So much of youtube is shouting and quick cuts and you just create such a serene space in your videos, I love it.
Could you please talk more about the food you're eating while living in the van? It would be great to get some ideas on what food to bring and how to prepare it :)
Bare in mind she's eating for a super short trip away. If you're going for longer you need much more substance than just oats and instant pasta. Get a saucepan out rather than just boiling the kettle - nutrition is so important! Most veggies last for a good week in the van so stir fry and one pot wonders are your friend 😁
So many things are pleasantly intensified when we are in the outdoors: - the sounds - the light (and the lack of light) - the sky - the birds - the colours Loved everything in this video... I particularly enjoyed the sound of the wave-tumbled beach rocks underfoot. Love the chill background music and also your toque! Thanks for taking us along on this “vantastic” adventure.
Amy you have inspired me and my other half to built a sustainable life together. Thank you so much. We also decided to buy a van, second hand but newer than this, to travel Europe together in it. Stay in places like camping sites, eat simple vegan food, read books, enjoy nature and let our dogs go crazy running around. Thank you so much, I am excited about the rest of my life living this way.
That sounds amazing!! After this adventure I’m hoping to buy my own van as well (this one is borrowed from a friend) you sound like you have the perfect plan ❤️
@@SustainablyVegan we are gonna build an eco house :) we just decided on that last week and we are starting to plan and look for a land in Slovakia :) and you will always be welcome to come and visit us and stay with us in our vegan nook, with our cats and dogs. When our house will be built, we will grow our own fruit and veg, we will rescue chickens if possible and we will even have fruit trees :) there will be plenty of nature around for you as we want to be near a forest and a river or a stream :) because you inspired us, you are always welcome and we make mean Slovak vegan food :)

Hi Immy! Enjoying watching these vlogs of your van experience. I really am someone who loves alone time as we’ll, but am guessing you are feeling lonely because you’re having a new experience and part of you wants to share it with someone. I’ve felt this before. You’re enjoying something alone, but then you think about how your sister, or partner or mom would love this view or whatever the experience is, and that brings on a bit of longing or loneliness. I hope you continue to enjoy your trip! Thanks for sharing it with us! 🙏🏻💕
It's so fun. You once recommended watching "wild we roam". Since then I watch every video and loooove their RUclips-Channel as well as yours. It would be so exciting if you met Dana, Lou and Ody someday. ☺️☺️
You make this look so so appealing! I would love to upgrade my subaru camping to something of this size someday. I need a toilet whenever I upgrade though due to some health issues :( I wonder if any van life people know of how to do that or if it's been done bc I was under the impression that I'd have to just go for a camper or RV kind of thing but I'd rather have something like this!
Hi Immy, love your videos! Just wanted to share a simple & natural remedy for an upset stomach. Next time you have an avocado, save the pit. Let it dry & whenever your having an upset stomach or nausea just make a tea from it. Simply cut an X on the pit, just enough to give it a cut & add it to some water. Once it boils the water will turn pink/red color. Let it cool & optional to add a bit of sugar to your tea. Drink up to 3 times a day & your stomach ache will go away. Let me know if you try it someday :)
Hello, thank you for sharing your "van life" staycation 😀 I am enjoying it very much. I could hear you fine when you were walking around outside. It is an adjustment being alone when there is no other options. I really enjoy your background music in your vlogs too ☮️
Lovely to watch! I’ve been full time van dwelling for a few months now. I love it BUT I’m still toying with the environmental impacts/ off-grid-ness. Yes, I use way less water but still go to the gym to shower and use friends’ washing machines. I use way less electricity but a solar panel in UK winter doesn’t provide enough power so still charge my stuff in cafes. I cook with natural gas, still extracted from the ground. Zero waste is easy but no more than being in a house. My heating as well as engine runs on diesel so I’m still dependent on and give money to big bad oil corporations. Most of the items I bought off Ebay in converting it were probably made in some industrial Chinese factory.. Out of the system but still very much part of it. It’s an amazing way to live for sure but environmentally, I’m learning it’s not as rainbows and sunshine as it is portrayed to be. If sustainability is the aim, I think natural building & self-sufficient energy systems is the way to go!
Immy + sustainable van life? I am in awe 😍. Love your creativity of content and your ever-open-mindedness and lifelong learning. You are truly an inspiration to so many of us. Thank you...this series is going to be so interesting! 💕
I'm highly interested in van life, are you enjoying it? Solar panels make it more sustainable, but the catch is that the Vans run on diesel. I keep bouncing back and forth between a van and a bus to live in, or completely settle in a beautiful meadow somewhere and live in a cob house with earthship features. Find an earthship to stay in next! Id love to hear your thoughts on them ❤️
Hi Arielle, I live in a sprinter van run on solar panels and absolutely love it. It runs on diesel for now but Im planning on converting it to run on surplus veggie oil! Hope this helps :)
Immy it's amazing how good you are driving the van!I am still so nervous to drive my new to me Renault! You do inspired me to get myself together and start driving more!As always, thanks for what you are doing, amazing video xx
So excited to see more van videos!! Ive been following van life as long as ive been following zero waste but didnt think it was possible to reconcile the two given some of the trade offs that come with van life
Wow another great video, very brave on your own? Keep your sprites up, work on your blogs have an early night, up early and photo shoot the dawn? Best wishes Ken and Christine.....
I think I can talk for many people who follow you and like me share the love for nature with you. We'll probably never meet, but you're like a sweet friend to us, certainly to me. You share with us the world through your eyes, taking us to places maybe we can't see and it's like being there for real, with a good friend who's on our same wave length. Thank you for this Immy, for sharing, for teaching, even with sharing your "mistakes" or experiences 🙂 Though, one thing was disappointing: you never told us if you could manage to find that coffee or not 😉 Keep up the good job and enjoy this wonderful journey, we're all with you 🙂
Love this video!! (and all of you other videos as well) I just wanted to give you an idea for new videoes, and what I would like to know more about is sustainable make up. Your make up looks so natural, could you make a video on your make up. Like witch products you use, and how you use them? Much love from a long time follower
I know for sure that I would make a total mess in the van if I had to chop and mix food on my bed XD Nice video, Immy, as usual. You give me peace with your soft voice and your videos!
Apologies for my questions...maybe you said that or maybe you don't want to talk about it, but I was wondering...what do you do when you need to go to the toilet? And do you have like a reservoir of water to brush your teeth and wash your hands or things like that? I am curious because I was thinking to rent a mini van like that too for camping, but I really cannot think myself without a bathroom ;)
Van life sounds cool. But only if you can fully shower daily. That is why I prefer travelling with a small backoack and hostelling. All the best for your van venture in your friend's van Red. Nice she let you use it - very kind.
Lovely video as usual :) How do you shower, or brush your teeth or take off your make up ??? Or even go to the loo ? sounds silly but i've been wondering...
that's why she stayed on a campsite, I stayed on loads on caravan holidays as a child/teenager with my family and because there are other people staying there/people running the campsite, it is quite safe :)
Were you ever afraid? What if you wake up to someone staring in at you? What if someone sets the van on fire (happens to a lot of cars where I live) 😱? What if some creep decides to follow you in their car? I would lovelovelove to do this but I keep thinking about the hazards.
Random.... do most people use that much tea in one mug? I’m not a big tea drinker and I’ve never had loose-leaf, so I was surprised! Is that a personal preference thing? I’m enjoying your van adventures :)
Yes, that looked about right - loose leaf tea is much less densely packed than tea-bag tea, as it's literally loose "curls" of leaf rather than almost dust powder. about 1/2 tbsp per mug is what i use, depending on the type of tea and how long i'm going to steep it for. It is very much a personal preference thing though!
Immy, I love how calm your videos are. So much of youtube is shouting and quick cuts and you just create such a serene space in your videos, I love it.
Ah thank you 💛💛
Totally agree!!
Could you please talk more about the food you're eating while living in the van? It would be great to get some ideas on what food to bring and how to prepare it :)
I was wondering the same actually. The oatmeal and fruit for example, is that instant, quick oats, or steel cut oats?
Bare in mind she's eating for a super short trip away. If you're going for longer you need much more substance than just oats and instant pasta. Get a saucepan out rather than just boiling the kettle - nutrition is so important! Most veggies last for a good week in the van so stir fry and one pot wonders are your friend 😁
This video is like the beginning of a wonderful TV series *-* I loved it.
Thank you so much for watching xx

Where did you get that bowl it is lovely!
I love this
Wow; an original Renault Trafic. Getting rare and collectable vehicles now.
Lovely video. I think van life seems lovely. If I weren't disabled and dependent on lots of big medical equipment, I'd for sure consider it.
Brrrr! It looks so cold.
You go girl 🚐
Mrs vegan,
Could you make a Life Swap with another minimalist in another country or state like Heal your Living?
What's the name of the song on 14:00? xx
This is so good!
I love your videos ❤️
Do you know what the maker of or type of lidded bowl you use. Is it enamel or ceramic? I'd love to find a multitasking bowl like that!
I still forget to tie things down....lol
OMG where is the link to the Boatlife vlog / video 😲?
What's the song at 14'26''? Love it
Mrs Vegan,
Is there a battery that charges by sunlight?
Then you could charge your phone and laptop and even have an electric oven/plate.
Lovely video as usual :)
How do you shower, or brush your teeth or take off your make up ??? Or even go to the loo ? sounds silly but i've been wondering...
Gym membership is how most van lifer do it
It’s great to see you so excited about this new experience 😊
Might there be van life in your future ??!! :)
You didn't mention where you were?
As a woman, I would never stay in a van alone at night. How do you deal with safety?
that's why she stayed on a campsite, I stayed on loads on caravan holidays as a child/teenager with my family and because there are other people staying there/people running the campsite, it is quite safe :)
Why are you scared ?
Do life in a tiny house
I'm just curious - weren't you cold? I'd imagine that I'll be freezing the whole time 😂
Yeah I was cold (except for my hot water bottle) - good thing it was only a short trip
Were you ever afraid? What if you wake up to someone staring in at you? What if someone sets the van on fire (happens to a lot of cars where I live) 😱? What if some creep decides to follow you in their car? I would lovelovelove to do this but I keep thinking about the hazards.
That white van looked like something you'd be abducted in, I'm stressed. Pls be safe.

Also with good tea leaves you can make more than one cup. The first cup is not the best for me!
Are you highly sensitive person (hsp)?
I don’t think so?
