This crossbody totebag is definitely the best ever! Since my birthday I always take it with me and you can't imagine how many things I carry ! People notice it and some ask me where I get it. ;-) So useful, comfortable, resistant, planet friendly and really lovely. Thank you for this fantastic birthday gift, Marikuna. Maman.
What a totally charmed life you have created for yourself, congratulations! Love your creativity and enthusiasm for your creations, they are all wonderful. I have been sewing and knitting most of my life and I totally identify with your life-style. You’re living the dream with your fellow artisans, thanks for sharing your cosy and warm world ❤️
Oh wow thank you so much for such a nice comment! I'm really glad you liked the pieces and enjoyed the atmosphere of the video. I wish you so much joy working on your sewing and knitting projects! I only knitted a scarf and a sweater before, but I really want to get back to it this winter. 🧶
Hello! You're probably referring to the sleeve cuff puckering at 2:56 right? I always use bias binding for any curves (where there is a shorter edge and a longer edge) but I thought straight binding worked fine for a "cylinder" (where both edges are the same length) like here: do you think bias binding would have helped? I'm trying to understand the geometry/reasons behind it, so would love to get your thoughts! Thanks for the tip and for watching.
There is a time to use straight grain binding and bias binding. Both can be used in garment clothing. You have to be careful with bias binding when not needed because it stretches and shows a pulled wrinkle as seen on one of her sleeve cuffs. I would use a straight binding in that area to stabilize the large amount of fabric gathered .
I love your creations. They're inspiring. Love ❤️ your bunny. I've made similar baby toys. I sew "crisp" plastic inside, so when baby grabs the toy, it crackles
Another beautiful video from Marikuna Studio! Slow fashion is really the path we must follow and your enthousiasm and your artistic and original design is really convincing! Congrats for all the themes of the video and for the quality of it. Best wishes for an happy life to the baby and the kangarrabbit!
Wow thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked the designs and think they are art 🌻And yes I loved connecting with everyone at the market! Thank you so much for watching and writing such a kind comment.
My favourite piece is the one I own 🤭 But right after that comes the cross body tote bag! Total game changer. Love the vibes of this video, so cozy and calming. I recommend watching curled on the sofa, under a warm blanket while sipping tea, like I did.
Yes, good vibes in this video, the music, the images and the voice are so positives! Already my third hearing! And by the way, how convincing to convert us to 2nd hand, slow fashion, arts craft and local made.
Oh wow thank you so much! Your comment makes me so happy. I'm really glad you liked the video and the pieces. Thank you for subscribing and for leaving such a nice comment! 🎀🎀
Such a beautiful video, transformed me straight to cosy, warm, soft autumns vibes! I love the bags, they look very practical but also so cute and pretty like you said, the little bows on the pink one are a great touch 💕
Magnificent 🎉 love the execution of the video and storytelling.... I love the idea of slow fashion, whilst remaining modern and grounded in the century (vinted, social medias etc). You are very talented. I love how you combine originality whilst delivering designs that are unassuming and easy to wear. Some of the techniques are very impressive and beautiful to watch. Love the fork pleating... And the tote bag seems indeed very practical
You summarized all the elements that struck me as well. I gasped when saw her effortlessly use the fork technique. This young lady has many skillsets and is bound for success because of her enthusiasm which is joyful to see. It's contagious.

Hi Helen! I'm so glad you liked the ideas and the video. I'm figuring it all out as I go :) I've watched a few good videos on making content for RUclips specifically (I recommend Aprilynne Alter for example www.youtube.com/@AprilynneAlter), and I'm teaching myself editing on Premiere Pro with RUclips tutorials :) I'm not super confident talking to the camera which is why I use mostly voiceover, but I might get there one day! Some channels I love are With Wendy, The Essentials Club, and From Carly B, and I try to think about what I love about them and see if I can incorporate some of that in my content. All the best with your own sewing projects and maybe your future channel! Let me know how it goes!! Thank you for so much watching and commenting. Marie
@marikunastudio I really appreciate your advice, starting to put together some ideas, your channels recommendations have been great so thank you. I also think I won't be talking on Camera as not confident to do that. I do hope 2025 brings you success with your channel and your makes. Thanks again xx

Bias binding cut on the bias (rather than on the grain) will elevate the quality of everything. Hope you find that useful!

@@marikunastudiobias binding is cut at an angle so it molds to whatever shape easier.
Bias binding is only bias binding if it IS cut on the bias, that’s why it’s called bias binding.
