    I saw your interview with Erika and I love how down to earth she is. Great interview and great review of these straps. I’m gonna definitely get me a strap soon! Can’t wait. I hope you’ve been well in this pandemic in NYC, here I am in Washington Heights doing pretty well myself mate.

      Hey, thank you for the check in. I am well! Just started doing small get togethers with friends... Home-to-home, to help maintain sanity we throw a dinner party every now and then. It's been rough. First time some of us have met up in months. However, I am well and hope the same!

    $75 to $100 for a watch strap depending on options. Ridiculous. She must be eating filet mignon and lobster every night for those prices.

    This lady went from $70 to close to $110 in a year. Demand creates inflation! No way I will ever pay that much for an elastic strap, regardless of the quality. There are much cheaper options.

    75€ for a strap is way too expensive

    • @viningscircle
      @viningscircle 4 года назад +1

      I quite agree. Less expensive options ARE out there, that ARE of good quality, with more makers (such as US-based companies) offering them.

      Make your own you can even make them better customized, durable, comfortable and better theft proof bc this would be easy to steal off peoples wrists without them noticing.

    after you meeting Erika video I ordered a black opps one with blue stitching for my 1521 - it arrived this week - and I have not taken it off all week. Very confy and gives a very unique look to the watch. Really nice !

    These are the most comfortable watch straws, bar none! I like my Tropic vulcanized rubber strap too, but again, Erika’s are the most comfortable. And they stay put too-no movement hardly at all. Love that.

    Erika also does custom stitching like mini flags on your strap if you ask her. Super cool.

    I also saw Erika's interview and recently purchased a strap from her. Have not received it yet but my eye is on the mailbox. I've used the Rhinos, Natos, rubber bands throughout the years and I'm hoping the blacked-out Black Ops MN strap will give me the comfort I'm looking for and look good on my SNEEEEEE- 498. Thanks, Patrick

    It would have been interesting to compare the MN straps with the NDC straps in order to sort the related applications: single layer MN for watches up to 13 mm height, double layer NDC straps for watches with a height beyond 13 mm. Though with the NDC you get two layers of strap to have your watch sitting on.
    I've put a MN on my 16 mm Reef Tiger Aurora lately and it looks flimsy: with such a high watch you need to have that bulky loop around the spring bars you get with NATO straps in order to balance out the bulkiness of the watch.
    Even better for bulky watches: Nick Mankey Designs hook strap or The Watch Steward strap: no strap underneath your already too bulky watch but still the loop around the spring bars.
    And as less expensive alternative for the single layer option: thecheapestnatostrap for a quarter of the MN/NDC price - and you don‘t even have to mess with the spring bars...
    Heimdallr is another alternative.

    Mine has been ordered, just waiting on it to arrive. This strap seems like a dream come true. I'll have to see how well it holds up to the humidity in my part of the country. But there is something bugging me about this strap. I seem too remember something very similar to this from about 30 years ago...

  • @lowlevelflyer1
    @lowlevelflyer1 4 года назад +1

    When you stretch the strap to get over your hand and onto the wrist, do you think it adds stress to the spring bars? When I slide onto my wrist I get the feeling there is stress on the springbars.

    • @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett
      @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett  4 года назад +1

      Likely, yes; but not enough to wear them out any sooner than having the watch placed on your wrist. I’ve been using elastic bands for years: no issues with my spring bars as of yet. 👌

    I ordered a cheaper chinese version of one of these. Saw the NDC Jacko Strap on a seiko flightmaster and really wanted to get one for my flighty. I'm not equipped to shell out $60 for one of those straps though so the $18 chinese one will have to do for now

    • @khronokraze
      @khronokraze 6 лет назад +1

      No worries. It'll be worth the wait and I can't imagine it'll be THAT much longer.
      And, I have asked her to see if she might do a custom version of the vintage MN.. the one that she's called the khaki color.. it's a bit darker and more drown than the sand(or tan) color you have.
      If her history and product line is any indication, once the new strap colors are established, I think nearly every stripe color option will be available.. or so my hope that is.
      Be well and have a great weekend.

    Wonder how secure this is really for diving. Does the material stretch like natos when wet? Wouldnt want the keeper to come loose in the water and my watch becoming a goner. You mention being in the shower with it...any thoughts?

    • @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett
      @TakeTimewPatrickMarlett  6 лет назад +1

      I've not seen any noticeable stretch over the course of a year with my olive MN Strap, nor has the keeper slackened while under water (shower or ocean). I imagine it will stretch, but that'll be years down the road. The watches I've had on my MN straps have been heavy as well: Turtles to Tunas, it's put up with a lot.

    • @reds7vn644

      This strap which I hung was originally a World War II French diving strap. Meaning that erika's Originals took the original design and start making it again. And the French lead the world in diving and diving standards so I think it would be phenomenal.

      *Any/Every Strap* will wear down over time, point being: this has maintained better structural integrity than many a NATO I have owned. Fits better, no frayed/burnt together holes... It's a better alternative in every way, unless you don't like the look.

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch 6 лет назад

      Take Time, w/Patrick Marlett yea, that is true. I had not considered that. You can probably tell that I am a bracelet guy. None of my watches have straps, but that is going to change soon.

      I too... *am a "Bracelet Guy,"* and it takes a whole lot to make me want to remove a bracelet from one of my watches. I predominantly use bracelets on my watches, but there are a few brands that make me consider otherwise: Erika's Originals is one.
