No, there are people that dont use 3D stuff and this would force them to pay another almost 20€ per month for something they would never use. That was by the way the reason Adobe didnt put Substance into the all apps plan, the pricing spike.
That's a good question. I look at it as another option for working with imported data. With Ai files, the substance engine processes the vector data to match the project resolution before it's rasterized to bitmap so you are converting vector data to bitmap. You also have controls to set an outline for the vectors. You also have the option to use artboards which can allow 1 ai file to hold several types of graphics for your project.
@@wes.mcdermott Another thing is if we could manage vector graphics, curves, etc. directly in “SP”, this would really be bomb news. Guys, you still can’t lasso and draw a mask, damn it, you gave us 100,500 masks when it’s easier to just add tools with which we can draw these masks and much more, I wrote about this back when “SP 2” was out, it’s all to no avail .
Don't be fooled by the ever repeated partial truth. Vector graphics can only be upscaled to the limits of the quality with which they were drawn. Things are only drawn with the amount of detail and correctness needed for the scale for which they are intended.
Very uninteresting new features for a major update. Too bad you've been doing this for a year. Next year will you add a built-in alpha flip in brush settings that has been requested for 10 years? If I don't use Illustrator at all, this update is completely useless to me
@@edenassos No, you're just an amateur. If you will be engaged in texturing more professionally, you will realize that in painter there are still a lot of not implemented important functions, compared to which the support of AI files seems like a clown.
ive been waiting for this feature for sooooooo long!
Will it be possible to import actual vector paths to the path tool?
Hi, currently it is not possible to import curves to the path tool. I can ask the team if this is planned in the future.
@@wes.mcdermott thanks! how cool would it be to be able to get stitches for existing shapes.
Fantastic update! This one completely change my life
Substance 3D apps should be in the 'All apps Plan' apps option.

What is the advantage of using files from illustrator, as if we were using regular high-resolution PNG images??

Also in substance designer?
Hi, Ai file support is not in Designer at this time. Designer does with with SVG.
If they spent a whole year creating such a useless feature, I'm already afraid of what they'll add to Designer.
@@dogdogs-r6k Definitely not as useless as what you do for a living.
Game changer ! WoW
From which version is this feature available?
Hi there! This feature is available in Painter 10.0, which was released today. You can read more about the release here: adobe.ly/4aD6qwx
Photoshop file ?

Too bad that there’s still no native embroidery generator in Painter. Would have been a perfect combo.
this is nicccee

I agree, the program has stopped evolving in the right direction, shame on Adobe.
Sounds like a you problem.

@@dogdogs-r6k So what do you do for a living? Let's hear all about it ;)
Great tips, annoying voiceover.
What voice do you want? Donald Duck?
