I think this video is not up to date anymore. Now when I upload a black and white image to Sampler, the black becomes the embroidered part, not the mask. So I stopped uploading the mask png. I directly upload the embroidery design color png and move forward from there. Adobe Substance team, I would highly appreciate it if you marked outdated videos in the description as outdated with a link to updated tutorials. Thanks
Did exactly each step by step with a mask as in the video. Embroidery generator when added flicked endlessly with the blue circle of death and failed to detect the png mask as the image input as the video shows. Has the tool changed in the last 3 months of this video being made?
Former embroidery digitizer here. This looks somewhat realistic if not looked at too closely; the algorithm shown for determining satin stitch direction based on density is passable but actual digitizing software alternates long stitches with shorter ones in satin stitches to prevent bunching in curved and corners. Also, fills aren't single stitches across the length of the fill, they're repeating stitch patterns that alternate offsets enough between rows to avoid visible banding. Never expected 3D to ever bother simulating this medium and again if you don't work in this field it's pretty convincing.
We don't intend nor claim this to be a 100% physically correct embroidery system. It's supposed to get you a 3D visualisation that's convincing without much effort. Real embroidery software can still be used if 100% accuracy is required.
How do I start with the same starting file as this example rather than a sphere? Can't follow along b because I square in the example so it turns it into an embroidered sphere with a bunch of holes in it.
You can adjust both the shape you work on and the tiling settings in the Viewer Settings panel located in the bottom right corner (the icon has a screen with a settings cog). To use the same as this tutorial, pick the Plane shape and set the Texture tiling parameter to 1. Hope this helps!
Where is the section where I can implement other materials? In past i could easily create patches with different materials. For example a chenille(carpet loop) on a felted material.
This is awesome! I ran into a problem though: when importing the mask image, the mesh doesn't auto switch to the circle shape - it just tiles on the cube mesh. Am I doing something wrong here?
Adobe Substance Team, PLEASE can you include an introduction of how to "set up the canvas" then an outro of how to "add the patch onto a garment"? So many people in the comments including myself are confused about how to do this and had to go find other youtube videos on this.
I don't understand how this adds the patch to the garment. How do I export the patch so it can go into clo and be applied to a garment?@@camrynfitzhugh3761
Not sure how to export this. You showed how to export from Ai, but not from sampler, when i exported it, was as a material, and it had a pink background. I will watch some other videos and see if i can figure it out
NVM I figured it out! Ended up making my own video of how I figured it out because, because i have done this before And I even forgot I made myself a video!! 🤣 Im old and ADD!!
trying to do same thing , after importing png as bitmap in sampler, the design is out from center and the design is in repeating in 3d view . plz advise what to do
why would you want to add custom mesh? They provide plenty of low poly mesh for you to test your designs on. If you need further testing, its gotta run into painter next.
Really?! Substance sampler? Such a great integration with Adobe Illustrator! O, wait! It is not included in ""ALL APPS" plan! I pay for years for Creative Cloud to have a flexibility to use and try different apps that integrate well with each-other and thus build my own workflow! What did I get from my loyalty to Adobe?! The stop of future development of Dimension and introducing additional subscription for the long awaited 3d apps! Even though my subscription plan is called "ALL APPS" I can't use any of the new 3d apps after years of loyalty! And those 3d apps are appearing in my CC Desktop manager! False advertisement and insult! What a disappointment! 🤦🤦🤦😡
You want to complain about years of loyalty? LMAO... I have been choosing adobe since 1997. And I have a beautiful workflow with adobe and other 3D software, made nothing of a career from it..xD I think its all just a love of Art and a passion to torture myself. But I figure, you can be spending your money on games, or spending your money on programs that make games. Either way you allow the computer to consume all your time; and everyone wants to get paid.
I’m confused, is this to just make something like embroidery online in an image, OR can I actually take what I make in embroidery and convert jt to an actual PES file that I can use on my embroidery machine

This is absolutely amazing! 🌟
None of this works anymore, the system is completely different and the newest update broke everything.
How do you get the flat surface instead of a ball?
I enjoy embroidery in real life, now I can do it in the digital world too!

Why masking is not working in my sampler?

Hi Adobe team, you must make more Substance 3D Modeler videos.
What would you like to see in particular?

You have to manually pick the mesh for the viewport, it never auto-switches, the video might make it seems like that due to editing.
In the viewer settings tab, you can pick the mesh it uses to preview materials
This is really a nice and convincing addition !
game changerrr!

I don't know if you still need it but you can change it in viewer settings in the bottom left corn@@Zeddy8365nkl

Which version should I use to write this?
why no sample scene?
My shirt material shows through my embroided patch in painter. does anyone know how to fix that?
By uploading the black and white image to sampler, the blsack becomes a patt of the embroisery, wgich i don`t need and don´t want.
desactivate the fill you don't need within the color submenus
I am sorry, but i preferred the other versión. Why a limit to colors?
Seems a step backward if you ask me
is there any way i can buy the steam substance sampler version anymore because it isnt avaiable to buy on steam anymore
Wonder how you figure out this ... /// THX...
Really informative tutorial, thank you.
I don't see mode embroidery option in my version !where can I find this ?
when I open the sampler, the file on the left side of the screen is 3D, how can I fix that?
Hello, it's possible to make a chenille/moss stitch embroidery?
I tried this technique out with some designs and got some good sbsar files I will be able to use in projects. Great tutorial!

Assuming you can use this in substance painter?

how do i export into illustrator?

Is there a reason the bitmap doesn't work for me? It Just shows a black/white picture i made all embroidered, regardless of the white form I made...

@@lrj_studio Snap what? Snap to what? Snap how? Or is it a "Damn" kind of snap?
can we export designs in embroidery machine formats like jef.

I have Substance Sampler 2023 bought from steam and the UI for embroidery look like old UI from sampler 2022. how can I update this?
damnnn
i dont have embroidery in my filters tab
Have you updated to the latest version of Sampler?
Wooow. It's great!!!
Merciiiiiiii
Great, but for my part I don't have the same options, for example I don't have the Embroidery Mode. I am on version 4.0.2. Is this normal?
you Need to update to version 4.1

totally awesome!
Nice.
¡SÚPER!
the mask do not has the Stitch Dersity option
You need to update Sampler to 4.1.0 version
How can I do the same using a png made in photoshop?
Is this 3D print ready art?
No it's not, as it does not add real geometry but more like playing with shaders to give that 3d effect.
Former embroidery digitizer here. f'k yeah this is awesome
But is this still a digitization?
not at all. but I don't need that - to me they can exist as two separate workflows @@user-vc8ng2rv2k

Hi, it's great!! One question, how to export the patch to the substance painter? for example: I would like to be able to put that patch on a cap
I also want to know about this issue.Or sew him on to the clothes
All you have to do is to export your project as a sbsar, and say it's a decal. You can then drag and drop it onto your Painter library :)
