The reason that Chevy discontinued the Avalanche and Escalade ext and why Ford discontinued the Sport Trac is because many people sadly don’t like Sport Utility Trucks. I personally love sport utility trucks. The weird thing is is that the Honda Ridgline is making good sales. Hyundai is making a new thing called a crossover truck. Jeep made a new mini Sporty truck.

Avalanche and Ext are so underrated. They forget it is still an LS based engine. The GMC envoy Xuv is like the mini version on these vehicles.
The foldable midgate is an absolute game changer. A must have imo .

I'm not a truck guy, but this is one of the few trucks I'd consider owning.
this was at the era that trucks and SUVs really started to get nice luxury features before that were only available in a few crossovers an SUVs before this, but this one really predicted the future for how trucks would become as luxurious as lexuses, acuras, and cadillacs.
Not even a mention of the bed rail storage compartments? Or even the most unique feature of the Avalanche and the ext, the fold down cargo wall between the bed and the cab?

I’m gonna buy a 2019 Chevy silverado high country when I am grown up. It will be a little cheaper and older but still a great truck. That’s the new GM luxury truck.

Purchase the dealerships extended warranty! It will add some money to your monthly payment but it’s well worth it. I bought a 2011 SRX4 2.8T that had only 26,006 miles on it but it had no warranty. I bought the extended warranty and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. The lift gate blew because the sunroof was clogged and leaking, bad front ball joints, driver side power window broke as did the power door lock sensor. The the sunroof shade started bunching up ($900 out of pocket) so that had to be replaced. The backup camera stopped working and then I hear there’s a recall on the rear differential!! So far I’ve had well over $7,000 + worth of repairs done to the damn thing. I do love it and especially the Bose 5.1 surround sound system but if one more damn thing breaks on it I’m trading it in for something else!!

This is identical to my 2013 avalanche even the interior is the same. I have an avalanche LTZ leather seats, all the same features

Cause they don't make the avalanche anymore and I don't know why they stopped making the avalanche
I heard that the avalanche been having problems with the instrument cluster a lot so maybe thats one reason
They were considered sales flops by GM. They sold quite poorly with the introduction of the last ten GMT-platform pickups. Most simply never saw the appeal of the Avalanche/EXT trucks, especially compared to the Silverado/Sierra.

I think it got discontinued because of the way the trucks looked before the black dimand edition on the avalanche. The truck looked cheap and no one wanted it so they made a special edition and stoped making them as a whole.
They were discontinued because of low sales.....price was high and competitive alternatives..this was before people spent $60,000-$80,000 for pick up truck or diesel...

Avalanche maybe. I rarely see the 07+ Ext, like ever in or around Chicago. The only ones you do see are the very dated 02-06 models.
Everyone who’s excited about this truck check out the avalanche it has a lot of features this truck doesn’t have.

I was able to hit 132 on i-65 a few months ago in my Avalanche that has a Vortec 5.3... so this can definitely go a little bit further than that...

Very cheap materials in the ext and avalanche. Still i do like mine. But GM had crap interiors back when.
I plan to replace my CVPI with one of these so I guess it’s still a step up. If it gets hot enough you can hear the dash creaking, assuming you can hear anything over the doors rattling 😂

So you sir are incorrect stating they came out in 1999. They were officially released for the 2002 model year like McNaught Cadillac Buick GMC has stated. 1999 was the first year of the Escalade but not the first year of the Escalade EXT.

Mohammed Hameed Hou are right! 2013 was the last year of production! We are in 2019 and I purchased an Escalade Ext new in 2013 and It only has 10750 kilometres on it. It was always stored in my heated garage for the last 5 years as I did not want to drive it in the salt during winters. I absolutely love it!
