So far this year I’ve replaced a broken drive shaft, water impeller unit, and rebuilt the carburetor on my 94’ 15hp. Your video’s have helped immensely! Without your help I would not have had the confidence to take on these jobs myself. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video as I am ordering my fuel filter now with the key. Is there a recommended amount of hours or certain time of year to drain the vapor separator reservoir? Will the motor run funny or will things break if this is not drained? I have a 2005 115 merc 2-stroke and bought it used last year so trying to create a foundational maintenance year for it to know its been gone through and doing everything I can do myself.
I have a 2004 Mercury Optimax 115hp on my 1996 Mako 19’ (just bought the motor with the boat). There is no fuel priming bulb (I checked my boat for the bulb after watching your video). Because there’s no bulb, should I assume that the optimax fuel pump will self-prime? It must not have been a problem for the previous owners and marine mechanics. Any suggestions or ideas for the procedure? Thanks

Glad I could help! Hope to have more videos related to your motor in the future.

@@robinstolk2116 If you’re asking if this is a video for that motor no this is for a larger OptiMax motor.
@@martinmarine529 oh no it was for future vids mate
Thanks for the video you went straight to the point and answered my question

Nice action craft brother!
Or is it?? Lemme know!
Thank you yes it’s a 1720 Action Craft. Just put a new 115 pro Xs on it last week.
@@martinmarine529 did the optimax crap out? 😂 I currently can’t take my action craft out bc of the opti
@@jacksontimken5692 No I was just ready for something new
@@martinmarine529 nice! How is the fuel consumption compared to the opti?
Can you prime also by putting gas into the filter hole before you put filter back in.
Can you pour fuel in before putting new filter in to help prime? And what fuel do you like to run on that mote?

You should definitely have one it may be under a hatch or something.
I have a pump but I have never had to use it. I may go a month or two without running my motor. It always starts. 2010 Optimax 75
Very helpful thanks
2007 optimax 3.0 starting missing after I changed it
