Elantra CN7 2022 2023 vs New 2024 Hyundai Elantra N CN7.2 Refresh Model Comparison Review DCT Manual

- In this video, I compare my 2022 Elantra N to the new 2024 Elantra N refresh. Hyundai of Evansville did not sponsor this video, but they did allowing me to film their first 2024 Elantra N allocation. The Elantra N, showcased in this video, is currently for sale. The dealership is expecting more Elantra N’s in the coming weeks. If you’re in the market for a new 24 Elantra N or other Hyundai product, stop by and call Chris Kelly at Hyundai of Evansville, located in Evansville, Indiana.
In this video, I try to answer the following questions:
1. What are the differences between the 2022 Elantra N and the 2024 Elantra N?
2. What are the differences between the 2023 Elantra N and the 2024 Elantra N?
3. Is the 2024 Elantra N better than the 2022 Elantra N?
4. Is the 2024 Elantra N better than the 2023 Elantra N?
5. What improvements were made to the 2024 Elantra N?
6. Which should you buy a 2024 Elantra N or a 2022, 2023 Elantra N?
7. Should you trade-in your 2022, 2023 Elantra N for a 2024 Elantra N?
8. What does the exterior of the 2024 Elantra N look like?
9. What does the interior of the 2024 Elantra N look like?
4/26/24 Please forgive the generic text at 2:33, I worked hard to get this video out as quickly as possible and missed this error. I tired to help distinguish between the two vehicles by placing the model year at the bottom of each car.
Side note: The new 2024 forged wheels are 33lbs. lighter total vs the previous gen's wheels, not 33lbs. each.

The brake lines now have a heat shield around them, better bushings and suspension tuning.
That's good to hear, but can be fixed with much less than the thousands difference in price
@@fusrodahing1993what are you talking about? The price difference between these cars is a few hundred dollars.
@@porfiriato84 for a few hundreds you get better suspension tuning , better bushing , better brake lines, front sensors
The ‘24 version looks amazing, especially in that black colour. However, I think it has become a little too generic looking. One of the things I love about the ‘22 model is that it looks super aggressive and very unique; it really stands out and says “I’m a race car and I’m here to destroy you”.
Too many cars try to be ‘safe’ in their looks so as not to be too polarising. But the ‘22 doesn’t do that. It tells you outright that it’s built to kill.
And it's also hideous. Sorry, you can dislike the 24 all you want but they basically improved what the majority disliked, the front end
Yawn, it’s all subjective.
@@porfiriato84subjective but most prefer the PFL. It's more unique
As a 23' Elantra N owner, I think the new design looks great just not my style, the new wheels they have are the best part for me. The front end is giving 2024 Prius, not sure if anyone else sees it. At the end of the day they're both sick cars
lol, don't be salty.. I am also a 23 N owner but the new design looks much better, especially the front end.
@@Soul_Flow_ just not my speed lol, not salty abt nothing, only thing i feel scammed is that the 23's dont have cube theme for the gauge cluster, and that the 24 wheels werent standard with the 23
@@nlalexx3046 only thing i saw that i wanted lmao other than that also love my 23
@@Soul_Flow_I agree with him as a 23 owner
@@Soul_Flow_Nothing salty about preferring the original look. I also much prefer it. The new version looks too generic in my opinion. Each to their own tastes.
appreciate the detailed comparison! Great content.
Thank you!
Nice side by side comparison video. IMO if you dont have a EN go for the 2024 model. If you currently have a 22-23 EN i don't believe it's worth trading it in for a 2024 model. Im glad they decided to stick with the Manual parking brake.i also like how they have the gas cap. In my previous 2 vehicles, i had capless and hated it.
Good point. Been looking to get into a new car, debating between a GRC and this.
Awesome that 24 look good
Very nice video, bro. Thank you.
@@evertonschefer Thank you!
Both great looking. 22 all day . So aggressive and unique. Those wheels though 😍
Same here regarding the 22/23 look. It look so angry and ready to eat the road alive, plus anyone who gets in its way.
I installed aftermarket 18" black wheels on my cyber grey EN and they make the car look much better, ride quality, plus they r lighter and the mpg is improved because of it
I really want new wheels!
Great video, thanks!
I ordered a 2024 DCT in Cyber Grey. Waiting for a delivery date
Thank you! Congratulations! You’ll love it! Good color choice.
How did you order it?? Also where do you live? I’m in CA but can’t find one
@curst2948 I'm on the East Coast. I called around to different dealers and found one that would let me "order one."
They took a $1000 deposit and sent the request for the one I wanted.
A guy did the same thing 3 weeks before me at the same dealer and was recently told that the car will arrive in June. So I'm guessing mine will come in June or July .
@@curst2948 It’s on the dealership’s lot right now. They are getting three more. Located in Evansville, Indiana
@@johnnyturbo8460 Oh wow! Yeah, they don’t “order” a car, they simply request the vehicle as part of their allotted allocation, but that request could get denied or delayed. I went through that when I got my 22. I had to get a different color than I originally wanted.
I have 2020 VN pumping out 320whp.... But I'm really thinking of getting the 2024 EN. Great video mam made me want one more.
That’s awesome! My wife’s goal is to hit 350 at the wheels. Thank you!
@@nprform That's super easy with that platform I just live in Hawaii so we don't have any good gas, but that number on water methanol, or even just 93 octane is easy 🤙🏼
You lucked out getting the 22/23 model. IMO, it looks far better than the new refresh. Especially the front end. Not the biggest fan of the sound of 4 bangers, but the 22/23 also sounds better.
I believe the exhaust is identical between the models, that wasn’t one of the things changed. The design is obviously personal preference
Exhaust is same, only difference is one isn't broken in yet. Sound changes overtime from everything ive read
@@smitty0 makes sense. Exhausts def have a bit of a break in period.
Great video as always! 🎉
Thanks love! 😍
What a great car for the money
Very nice comparison! As a 2022 EN owner I’m glad I don’t like the refreshed 2024 EN as much since I won’t feel pressured to upgrade to the latest and greatest. The only things I like better on the refresh are the black forged wheels and the refined suspension. I haven’t driven one to know just how much better the suspension is, but one of my biggest gripes with my 2022 is how harsh it is hitting potholes.
Lol, I just watched one of your videos! I prefer my 22 over the 24 styling, but I do like the new wheels. That was a miss for the 22/23 owners. As far as the suspension, I haven’t found mine to be all that bad. It’s a big improvement over my wife’s Veloster. It was unfortunate I didn’t get more drive time to really compare the new suspension and steering updates. The car felt very similar to how mine drives, so I feel the updates, while nice, may not be dramatic. Even with my wheel spacers my car dives well. I keep the suspension in normal mode.
@@nprform oh nice ha ha! My suspension isn’t horrible by any means, but the heavy OEM 19s didn’t help with the impacts. I definitely prefer how it rides with my 18s now, but I do miss the look of 19s. I was thinking I bet the lighter weight 19s might be the perfect middle ground.
@@n-power-automotive That’s what I really want to do next is get some lighter black 19” wheels.
I would've liked it matte black
I prefer the 2022 model it looks way more aggressive.
Nice video. It should be a crime to buy a slush box with cars like these when a manual option is available.
It’s a damn nice “slush box”! :)
@@nprform Still a slush box 😊
I like your car it reminds me of something in the fast and furious!
Thank you! I love it!
Interesting to know the mpg is slightly less now, I wonder why?
Yea the wheels r lighter on the 24 but the car has reinforced bushings maybe those r heavier plus the added usb ports and rear vents and slightly different front and rear bumpers ad some weight. However dont mind these mpgs u actually get better mpg than advertised
Probably updated testing guidelines from epa
Wheels go hard on the 24 but other than that I'll stick with my 22 EN
Nice comparison. Really random thing. In my 22 I could never fill up the gas properly. 24 has that fixed.
I have that problem with my nline
It’ll fill up to 380 or 370 when I know I’ve seen it for way higher !!
Whats the wheel hop you spoke about? Is it while doing a burn out?
@@derfskittlers6125 When you take off aggressively the car has so much torque the front of the car will hope instead of the tires slipping or losing traction.
The 24 exhaust revs definitely sound a bit less full. Is the idle exhaust volume quieter on the 24 too? It was harder to hear the idle rumble on the 24 but it could’ve just been the mic angle
Yes, the idle was a bit quieter. My wife followed me in my car, while I drove the 24, and she said should couldn’t hear the car as much as she normally hears mine. Also she noted she didn’t feel the exhaust in the seats as much when reving the 24.
Another thought about the exhaust, it could be slightly detuned, similar to the Veloster manual vs DCT exhausts were. My wife did a resonator delete on her DCT Veloster, which then gave it a sound more similar to my Elantra. With that said, a resonator delete could help with increasing the sound, if someone wanted more sound. Also, a resonator delete is very inexpensive. All in all, the Elantra N still has one of the best sounding OEM exhausts. The Jag F Type’s exhaust is still my favorite, but that’s a much more expensive car and has a larger V6 or V8.
@@nprformThat is actually very disappointing to hear. The loud idle rumble and aggressive deep revs are critical to my desire for an EN. I’ve got a deposit on a 24, but this makes me much less excited about it. Really hoping the break-in period will make it louder and deeper
@@Symphoniics I think you’ll still be happy with the car. Again, the sound could change over time. Plus, a resonator delete could help as well. We paid $100 to delete the resonator on my wife’s car and it definitely changed the car’s sound without being obnoxious or droning.
@@nprform Yeah, and I may very well consider the res delete, but one of the biggest selling points of the car was that I didn’t need to modify anything. Enough power and sound straight from the factory. I’m not gonna fret too much tho. I’m sure I’ll be happy once I am sitting in the driver seat
Still prefer the 22-23 front end...besides that, everything else looks great.
As with most facelifts, they were not part of the original design language. The rear bumper looks like a gaping cod. Ugly. The ones I have seen don't even have the front bonnet gaps lining up with the new nose. Original for me as well.
I agree. There was no reason to make the rear bumper look like that. @@davidb1630

@@piotrpiotr1454 That’s very unfortunate. :(

@@R3STRIKT3D Thank you! It bugs me I didn’t catch it and can’t edit it without uploading a new video and removing the current one. Oh well, it shows I’m human and not perfect. Lol
If Honda did't come up with this 24 look before will be great, at this point 22,23 are getting more unigue and agressive, eventhoug ware called ugly front face when they come up to the market. About the flat bages, upgraded bushings 10 of 10
Might be nitpicking here, but it's disappointing that they didn't upgrade interior quality. I used to have a '22 N and the chintzy nature of the cabin plastics was my least favorite thing about the car.
I own a 23 with 1,900 miles after one year, its collecting dust. Every couple weeks I get notifications of battery draining on my blue link app 😅. I drive my mirage for work at all times so no time to drive my EN
Come on! You need to make time for that beautiful car! 😂
@@nprform sometimes i even forget i have one. It even smells like brand new inside😁
@@litdoe7021
Sell to someone who'd daily the car than.
So is the 24 model sounds quieter or is it really because of the cat use🧐
I can’t say 100%. I’d love to hear from someone that’s had the car for a bit to know if the sound changes.
Same
Would you say the amounts of pops and crackles including the volume are the same on the 23 and 24 or have they been decreased on the new one?
The pops and crackles seem to be the same in amount, but not in the overall volume/loudness. Also, I did notice the exhaust, when downshifting, was not as loud or intense. Overall, the exhaust seems to be different. This may be due to issues in certain states (California) or to be more tame for a larger audience of buyers. I don’t know the answer but it’s different, not bad.
Does it do that in every mode or just sport/N?
@@shrimpgordita The pops are only in sport and N mode.
Owned all 3 N cars including 2 ENs If only we could get the sonata/euro flat seats in the EN I would get one again.
What is it about those seats you like over the Elantra N bucket seats?
@@nprform comfort so much more comfort and adjustability especially long drives. Bucket seats only useful if you really hot the track on the regular.
@@Boostedbeard I can understand prioritizing comfort over maximum sportiness. I’ve ran into that with some Recaro seats.
how did you change the standard gauge to the cube gauge? i have the 2024 n sedan model and didn’t even know this could be done. unless the car doesn’t offer it in australian models?
I had to go into the gauge settings screen. It’s the same screen you can change the regular gauges to change with the mode selection.
You are wrong with the wheels the N performance wheels are different they are designed to fit the N performance brake kit ,on the other hand the new 2024 forged wheels will not clear big brake kit from Hyundai N performance reason i say this is because my N if full with the N performance parts .
Thank you for the clarification!
They should have changed that spoiler
As a 22 white owner. The new one is better looking! The OG just looks weird and ugly and im not biased! I would love to swap front ends for my car.
New one doesnt look sporty at all, and the back end lost lots of body work
No way! Original is far better and white is the best colour!
@@quandale2648Agreed.
I try to trade in my elantra for the new one and dealer are dump as fuck they raise the price from 35 and some change to 52000
That’s ridiculous! Walk away when you see that. I do financing for most of my local dealerships, so they take good care of me. Plus most don’t do market adjustments in my area.
Did they fix the trunk delidding itself on the 24?
@@NokeManzo No, both my kids 24’s have the trunk popping up on each side a bit.
@@nprform ugh and i just bought one a few weeks back. Has me nervous now. Maybe a future carbon fiber trunk replacement? Lol
@@NokeManzo It’s a shame it’s a design fault that hasn’t been fixed after three model years. You basically have to overlook it unless it gets really bad.
Can you buy a spare tire from Hyundai or not at all?
Yes, you can buy a spare from Hyundai. I’ve seen some aftermarket companies carry spare kits as well.
if you dont like a current model hyundai or kia, wait a week. it'll be refreshed or all new lol!
will a bov and resonator delete void warranty?
Any modification has the potential to void the warranty of the part of the car it replaces or attaches to. It would be highly unlikely that a resonator delete would void any part of your warranty. The same would hold true for a BOV. If the BOV was faulty and the dealership found it lead to additional damage to the vehicle then it could lead to a denial of a warranty claim. It depends on the issue, the modifications, and dealership. Also, because you have a modified car doesn’t mean your entire warranty is void, it means a warranty claim could be denied, due to a particular modification.
I like the front end of the 2023 alil better, but the 24 is still nice
Can you turn the pointless screen off maybe to a black screen so there's no circle that to me seems distracting
It’s not lighted, it’s just etched into the plastic, no way to turn it on or off.
Most put a mag safe pop socket to hold their phone there
Did you blacked out your tail lights ?
I did tint my taillights.
@@nprform love it ! I’ll do the same for my white 22
@@Danxious My wife talked me into. She got a good eye for exterior mods.
@@nprform yeah with that 🔥 diffuser too
It's pointless to compare the subtle differences of the OG EN with the facelift, if the OG has lots of aftermarket parts (front lip, rear diffuser, And even though he says the exhaust is stock, something is done, whether it's a high flow cat or a res delete, but that's not stock). Anyone who's not very familiar with this car would be totally confused about the differences between the OG and refresh after watching this video.
I understand I have aftermarket parts, which is why I tried to disclose my differences with the aftermarket parts vs what normally comes on the 22/23 models. Unfortunately, I can’t just take my parts off easily and I wanted to discuss the differences.
@@nprform I understand. But you can see how (Even while trying to verbally explain that you have front and rear aero on your car) it's impossible for someone to understand the stock differences.
@@Daveyboy_GolfR I wish we had more N’s in this area. It’s a hard car to find.

No, it doesn’t.
Similar performance to a Golf R ? Not in a 0-60 race but yes to going around corners. Also the Golf R is much better in weather such as rain or snow because of awd vs fwd. I did hear that the suspension was supposed to be improved with the 2024 model , but being its new it may just need some time to settle.
Don’t get me wrong the Golf R and Civic Type R are both wonderful. And you’re right, it’s hard to match VW’s AWD system and launch control. I absolutely LOVED my GTI. I’m just saying the Elantra N is in their class, it’s above the GTI and Civic Si in performance.

You are just biased. Hyundai has made significant improvements in reliability over the years. According to various reliability and satisfaction surveys, Hyundai is now considered to be on par with other reliable automakers. Here are some examples:
· J.D. Power: Hyundai ranked 4th in overall initial quality in 2022, beating out many established brands.
· Consumer Reports: Hyundai has several models that are recommended for reliability, including the Elantra, Santa Fe, and Tucson.
· Warranty Direct: Hyundai ranked 3rd in their 2022 Reliability Index, which analyzes warranty claims.
Hyundai's reliability improvements are due to various factors, including:
· Investments in research and development
· Improved manufacturing processes
· Enhanced quality control
· Longer warranties (Hyundai offers one of the longest warranties in the industry)
While no automaker is completely immune to issues, Hyundai has demonstrated a commitment to reliability and continues to improve. As with any vehicle purchase, it's essential to research and review reliability data for specific models and years to make an informed decision.
