Great pod. On a totally unrelated note my dream one day is for James to get Shane Gillis to practice the faith again and it will be like when old kings like Stephen of Hungary converted and then converted an entire country except instead of country it will be all the young white guys who miss the days of their youth

I don't see the guests point at the beginning...that much of American business is pushing for cash. It exists but it seems to me that is a super tiny percentage of American business . Furthermore, I see the border crossing community as much much more likely to use cash than the native community.

I do think we lost something when Steve Jobs died. I'm not a fan of him, but for all the bluster about creativity and innovation, the tech world since then has been remarkably conservative, even to the point of being retro. Elon Musk's obsession with sleek looking cars, fancy underground bullet trains, and commercial space rockets is a direct throwback to the mid 20th century.
Consider the current mania surrounding electric cars. My biggest disappointment about them isn't that we have not enough/too much, but how boring the designs have been so far. There are dozens of brands in this space now, from mainstay car brands to feisty up-and-coming startups, and they ALL have the same two- and three-box "traditional" car designs inherited from internal combustion vehicles, with fake grilles in front of the non-existent radiators and all. As an example of how conservative we currently are, nothing even tries to approach something like the GM Hy-Wire concept from 2002 - which had the idea of designing a vehicle platform if one had the flexibility of drive-by-wire tech and not being constrained by an internal combustion drivetrain.

Y'all need better video titles and thumbnails. Love your content!

We tried some better thumbnails in which Jacob and I were, like, reacting to things? and pointing at pictures in the air? But it was too humiliating to bear, so we're going with bad thumbnails.
