June 5th 2024 Edit: Due to all of the recent disturbing crap Blare has been called out for doing, as well as the recent stuff Lio has been called out for, I am updating this comment to inform anyone curious that I cut Blare off months ago for an unrelated incident and words cannot describe how fucking awful I feel knowing I was so close to someone like this, and I cut Lio off in early March and want nothing to do with him. Ironically, this has only made my points about my trust issues in this video stronger. Im just so tired of this and I am sick of giving people my trust.
Apologies for the rough editing on this one, this situation is something I wanted to be over and done with so I simply put the images and videos on the project without doing anything fancy. Anxiety is no joke btw, my heart's pounding just from typing this lol

I’m in the exact same boat honestly. Seeing MAP (that acronym really does him no favors) is like seeing a dark reflection of myself somewhat. It kind of disturbs me to see how much worse I could have been if fate was less kind, but it seems at the very VERY least, I’m self aware enough to realize when I fucked up and make the effort to be and do better. It's weird looking back on it, but the "Brony Analysis Community" (as it was called) was one of the most toxic places on the internet. Sure, there were friendly, calming creators like Dr. Wolf or Silverquill who I remember enjoying, but then there was an almost endless stream of angry, nasty, aggressive individuals who seemed to take pleasure in ripping to shreds their least favorite episodes of a TV show that was, even at its worst, standard kids fluff.
Mr. Enter, Lily Orchard, VoiceOfReason, MisAnthro of course... It was at its worst in Season 4. Two words: Equestria Games. If you know, you know.
It reminds me uncannilly of the way people today obsessively hate on Star Wars and The Last of Us II and Captain Marvel and Doctor Who. To be clear, there's nothing inherently wrong with criticizing these things - Jay Exci's DW video is incredible - but the sheer vitriol that permeates the communities can be pretty concerning (and of course, the identity politics side of things makes the modern examples far more dangerous in terms of real-world consequences).
I still look back on my time in the community in a weirdly fond manner though. In a way, the many hours I spent picking apart MLP analysis served as training for me to apply critical thinking in worthwhile contexts - philosophy, politics, even science. I distinctly remember learning the phrases "strawman" and "devil's advocate" from my RUclips comment arguments with a pretentious twat reviewer called Byter. He was an asshole, but he taught me a lot.

A few clarifications:
There are a few instances in my section where I appear to contradict myself. Alternating between “I was almost certain” and “I was anticipating being wrong” on two occasions. To better explain my thought process, I knew everything lined up and all signs pointed to it being Pony, but I didn’t think he could do it.
I did tell Cartoonshi to hold out on the thread, the whole thing was released by his own volition
I say “you didn’t do that, in one instance you did”. That does sound like another contradiction and the beginning of the sentence was poorly worded, but the explanation he gave omitted a great deal of context and that was what I was saying.
I also seem to contradict myself upon saying “this is supposed to seem like a random account guilting him for cutting ties with him” and “he knows it’s you and you know this, yet you still mentioned the hatedom video.” Pony was aware of this fact when he was engaging in the guilting, yet he still wanted the ruse to be kept up. He also tried to keep up the ruse upon mentioning the video. The issue is that he knows the ruse isn’t fully working and he should have not mentioned the hatedom video. He still tried to keep up the illusion when mentioning it but it should not have been mentioned even if he was continuing to keep it up, because Pony was well aware that Toonshi thought it was him.
The updated apology still had the same issues I deconstructed, however it removed the “Toonshi caved into the hatedom” rant. I would say it was still bad from what I saw but I didn’t see all of it either.
Hope that clears some things up.

Serafina (who's gained a subscriber whilst Zaid's permanently lost one, and no doubt more) thinks Zaid used it as a shield.

There are certainly more detestable people in the world, but I don't think I've ever seen a reviewer more opposed to the concept of 'let people like things' than Zaid. His entire channel can be summed up like this: "Why can't everyone be as miserable as I am?" His understanding of media criticism is infantile, he can't stop attacking people with different opinions for 5 minutes, and his view of fiction is mired in this idea that everything should go back to the way it was when Disney was still making 2D animated movies and before Disney bought the right to Star Wars, and anything different from that status quo is evil. He's just a mean callous person overall, constantly going on tangents about people he hates for calling out his bad behavior, treating people like Kathleen Kennedy and Mindy Kaling like serial killers for the crime of making a piece of media he didn't like, and always acting like he's on some kind of mission to save the entertainment industry from sjw's.

He removed the context in that I was clearly saying that I was disappointed with Jeremy Jahns, not that I hated him and also that I was not upset that he didn't like ROS. I'm the only person outside of that call who has listened to the full audio as I'm close friends with Lio and a mod on his personal Discord server. I can't share the video with anyone however all I will say is that I have never heard Lio scream as much as he did in that call. MAP admitted he lied about not having Autism to Lio and during the whole call MAP basically excused himself of wrong doing and tried to basically kiss up to Lio and the gang by trying to act like he didn't know better and that he is sorry for doing some terrible shit.
I'm glad the call won't ever be made public especially given your severe anxiety. I also have autism and I usually don't get riddled with Anxiety much but just hearing a guy who I respect a whole lot snap at a loser like MAP for fucking up his relationship actually made my blood curl a bit.
I was hoping that call would release. I would've loved to see him get dragged through the dirt cause he's gone way too long with his obsessions of opinions and turning around to hide behind Apologies to his fanbase.
@@EnderWarden the main reason it won't see release is because for around 25-40 minutes into the 80 minute call, Lio brought up some very personal events to his and his kids life and how they were abused as kids because MAP tried to suggest how his dad was abusive to him yet he still saw him, among other lurid details.
I personally would like to see at least an edited version of the call released but I respect why Lio says he doesn't want it to. It was just a very upsetting experience for him being betrayed by someone he thought he could trust and defended him from psycho critics.

Every time he speaks he acts like no one else has the right to have a different opinion. His entire rant on MK 11 Aftermath was one of the most uncomfortable 'critiques' I've ever had to sit through. It was him attempting to explain the details of why MK 11 sucks, while personally attacking and insulting the creators like they had murdered his sister or something.

The unbalanced nature of that man's comments and critique is an enigma I don't think will ever be understood by anyone, but there was a line, and he crossed it when his mentality got so bad, he went and committed forms of cyber child abuse to get what he believed he was owed. Whatever lingering scintilla of respect I had for him, despite my high dislike of what his content became, was lost by the scumbaggery and idiocy he displayed in this whole situation. Even if he developed the simple ability to make a genuine apology, not a backhanded PR one, it'd likely be best to never associate with him again. Might be saved from any further potential disappointment.
I was never friends with the dude, but I was a fan of his work during his Friendship is Magic reviewing days. As a person who *used* to enjoy what he did, seeing him devolve to a point that angry became his default emotion, he became more hateful (and ridiculous) in his critiques of media, and the concept of knowing when you've said all you can say and needing to shut up about it just doesn't register with him at all was *one* thing, but stooping to the level of one of his hated enemies, and the fact he couldn't bring himself to *not* make excuses for it, really hurt to watch.
It also stings for me because the way MisAnthro Pony has acted, how insane he really is, reminds me of myself. From when I was a boy. And that horrifies me.
As of right now, part of me wants that guy to eventually get the therapy he badly needs and learn an important lesson before coming back. One that will actually stick and put him on the road to redemption to *some* degree. I'm done wanting him to ever view fans of what he hates as anything more than "consumerist r-words" and stuff like that, but nobody deserves to spiral into a never-ending, hopeless loop of learning nothing. The *other* part of me would prefer that he never come back at all, because I think he's said and done enough on the Internet.

I know from my own psychiatrist that Autism and ADHD mean your brain development is several years (around 5-8 years) behind your actual age and without good parents/professional intervention in your early years and teens, which means by the time you get to 25 when our brain development/neuroplacity ends, you can effectively end up with the brain of a teenager forever. Sometimes people can actually be a literal “man-child” where their actual age isn’t a reflection of their mental capacity or emotional maturity.
Even so, it doesn’t mean these people are without the ability to improve. He’s going to stay in this regressive state if he keeps living like a child, spending all day on the internet and trying to have inappropriately aged friends is the worst thing they could be doing.
They absolutely need to see a psychiatrist and get their act together so they can learn to be an adult. You can get away with being in your 20s and still interacting with teenagers in fandom spaces, but once you hit your 30s you don’t belong and people will kick you out for their own safety. I feel like his reaction to being blocked suggests this is his ONLY form of socialising, which is sad, but even more of a reason to involve professional help.
It’s never too late for people like him to get professional help and get his act together, even with the disadvantages and complications of Autism. His family is absolutely failing him by having allowed him to live like this for so long. He needs an intervention to get him off of social media and into a doctor’s office for therapy.

A few weeks ago, he released a post on his RUclips channel’s community page, where he posted a Screenshot of a Google Docs folder listing over 80+ names, calling ALL of them his “Online Harassers.” Even IF some of these people did genuinely wrong MAP/Zaid, some of these are minor conflicts only here purely from hateful spite. It’s so clear he’s trying to get his fanbase to attack these people, and he’s most likely going to lie and take things out of context to do this in his shitty little hatedom video.

Me too. I used to be an insane supporter of MAP. In his SU video, I kept talking in the comment section about how bad the show got in a very angry manner. Now I regret doing that and regret being oblivious to the things he’s done. I usually think we should not judge people’s content on what they are in real life, but if you bring your real life attitude and actions to your content then there is a problem.

Edit: Overtime however I started to well hate the show because I was kind off manipulated in a way by someone's opinion. It wasn't of my own volition. I have a brother on the spectrum with anxiety issues where I help him out in social situations when needed so this his close to home. It is absolutely repulsive that Pony would have such a major victim complex and completely reject how he treated you because his “feelings” were hurt. Anxiety is a major issue people go through, I’ve witness people in my life shut down from shook before going into full blown panic attacks over things others might consider small. Not matter what it is unforgivable that he took it this far and you have a right to never forgive him. You never owed him and explanation, no one deserves one. This made me really angry for you, hope your mental state can get better from all of this. I enjoy your content and you’re doing a good job. Keep up the good work ❤

As a former viewer of MisAnthro Pony's content, his actions were disappointing and completely inexcusable. I unsubbed from his channel because I don't feel comfortable supporting someone with that type of behavior. I hope MisAnthro Pony takes a long break from the internet and gets some help, as he's clearly not emotionally mature enough to be on it. What really gets to me about MAP is that despite realizing shit was hitting the fan because of what he was doing, he still kept trying to lie until he was backed into a corner each time. As someone with Asperger's, I can get him misunderstanding social cues and being a bit blunt/inconsiderate here and there (especially with making long speeches/rants about stuff on the mind), I've dealt with stuff like that before. But the way he not only escalated things by threatening Cartoonshi instead of simply talking things out, but also tried to slither out of looking bad by making his vague apology that looked more like a shoddy attempt to save face instead admitting that he screwed up really rubbed me the wrong way.
I can see how MAP got into this situation, what with how socially awkward he seems, but it really shouldn't have gone this far. Sorry you had to deal this.
